Maybes Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 is this still going? s'been over a month, move on. If you dont like it dont read it?
lcfcadam Posted 14 March 2010 Posted 14 March 2010 May as well make it 352... Someone should've done this to Chris Burke yesterday: (Before you all castigate me for being evil or something, I'm only joking...)
Monk Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 I didn't see who set the flare off at the Palace game this evening (right behind me) but they should be fking ashamed of themselves. Setting a flare alight then dropping it on the ground in a crowd of people in a WOODEN stand with tonnes of litter on the floor is just plain dangerous. The stewards dealt with it really badly, but all the same it could have got out of hand quickly
martyn Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 I thought the same tonight. I'm not averse to flares at all, but in that decrepit wooden stand it was at best irresponsible.
Sir Fynwy Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 Have to agree that having a flare set off directly behind me wasn't my favourite way to celebrate a goal, not very clever! I'd bet 90% of the people at the game had no clue there was a flare as it burned away on the floor. Stewards were absolute idiots though, the one who got in a strop and stated shouting about 'how the f*** did no-one see who set it off' made me laugh.
James. Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 If you're going to light a flare at least have some balls and hold it instead of just dropping it on the floor and running off It was a bit of a shambles really - nice idea but poorly executed and farcically stewarded.
Sir Fynwy Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 Should use smoke instead. That'd go down well with the asthmatics in the crowd
purpleronnie Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 That'd go down well with the asthmatics in the crowd Wimp.
Katy Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 I managed to get a picture of the flare, it did look like it got out of hand a bit. The stewards were utter dicks though, no wonder they have a reputation for being err wankers.
Sir Fynwy Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 Wimp. Don't be a tw@t, my wife spent the whole of the first half of the red star game at Filbert Street in the medical room because of a major attack caused by their smoke flares.

Sorry to hear that but Perhaps everyone should wrap themselves in bubble wrap and line the steps with cotton wool too.
FanaticsCPFC Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 looked tops from where we were....keep at it. respect.
Fosse Boy Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 looked tops from where we were....keep at it. respect. Thought your Fanatics were some of the best home support I've ever seen. Your lot at the front didn't stop all game. Have a lot of admiration for that. Especially enjoyed "Weeeeeeeeeeee love you!" :scarf: :appl:
Sir Fynwy Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 Sorry to hear that but Perhaps everyone should wrap themselves in bubble wrap and line the steps with cotton wool too. Yeah right, maybe people would be best off not chucking smoke flares around in public places.
harpendenfox Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 It was kinda cool looking from my vantage point twenty yards away last night, but I'm also glad enough I wasn't right in amongst it. It's been done now, looked good, and like all the best things, probably wise to stop before it moves from being cool to becoming cliched. What was really funny though was the rows it caused amongst the stewards. One was trying to get his superior to haul a bloke 'with a burn on his hand', and went off on one when his superior ignored him. Eight bored looking police from the Met walked in slowly, at which point we should have taken a leaf out of the United of Manchester FC fans and sang: We paid for your hats, we paid for your hats, what a waste of council tax, we paid for your hats. Two-hats, two-hats, two-hats, twats twats twats(look it up on You Tube)

Quality support from you guys all evening, was disgusted when I saw the stewards heading down to you lot and standing in front of you, trying to look hard. If there' s a Heinrich Himmler Award for Stewarding, there can only be one contender. Palace stewards were a pathetic, shambolic mess of tinpot wannabe coppers.

Mikey Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 Thought it was quality again. Palace fans at the front were the best home fans I've seen. Very nice.
