Kilworthfox Posted 5 April 2010 Posted 5 April 2010 Baggies fan in peace! Was just on your forum looking at what was being said after the match on friday and saw this thread. Our away support has also suffered from these happy clappers and this problem has been posted on our forum about a month ago, such a shame the one time you can go to a match and not have to worry about the usual people having a moan for standing now happens at away matches as well. The only was i feel it will get solved is by having unreserved seating and let the more vocal away fans at the top rows. Anyways, thought your support was average tbh for the numbers you brang down but not shocking as some of you say, what do you think of the baggies support ? Hopefully one day the stand up sit down campaign will come into effect, you never know I thought that the vast majority were happy clappers. The fans to the left of the away fans had a drummer and stood which is the same as at Leicester. They did sing & try to get some form of atmosphere together, but I could not distinctly hear their songs that well. When I was at the game I thought we were very vocal, but I was standing at the top amongst the singers...... I did watch the game back on SKY+ and I then thought that the WBA fans were much louder but you could hear the Leicester fans, especially the Mattock chants! Even Don Goodman commented which was ace . I think on the tele it depends where the t.v company place the microphones??? But I am no expert! WBA Fans away from home are ace so in summary WBA fans are as good or bad as LCFC fans, simples! All the best in the Prem, hopefully we will meet again & have a similar discussion this time next season
Head Honcho Posted 5 April 2010 Posted 5 April 2010 Any away fan that sings, and I quote "just like a library just like a library" is indeed a bellend. Surely this has to be the most embarrassing chant on the terrace's

Cheers for the good luck and same with you, good luck in the play offs if you get there ( should do). Never been to leicester away so cant comment on your home support but hopefully one day something will be done about not being able to stand and we are able to, as that is in my opinion the best way to create noise!
Fosse Boy Posted 5 April 2010 Posted 5 April 2010 Reckon WBA's fans were the second best home lot I've seen this season. Pretty impressed.
john_lcfc Posted 5 April 2010 Posted 5 April 2010 Reckon WBA's fans were the second best home lot I've seen this season. Pretty impressed. I agree, best home support I've encountered for a while. We had decent numbers standing who would have raised the roof with a decent performance but it is de-motivating with 1 shot on target all game.
Daggers Posted 5 April 2010 Posted 5 April 2010 Reckon WBA's fans were the second best home lot I've seen this season. Pretty impressed. Spunky blond tart was the liveliest thing to come out of the right-hand side all match.
Bert Posted 5 April 2010 Posted 5 April 2010 Spunky blond tart was the liveliest thing to come out of the right-hand side all match. She was a Leicester fan someone said today. Anyway, I don't think some people realise on here that not everyone wishes to stand, therefore they don't see the point of those that do and vice versa.
WBAfan Posted 5 April 2010 Posted 5 April 2010 Spunky blond tart was the liveliest thing to come out of the right-hand side all match. Haha yeah that was funny. Your chant for mattock to sort her out was hilarous as well. People who sat near her was saying she was chering on you lot, i find it funny how no one wants her as their fan XD
Daggers Posted 5 April 2010 Posted 5 April 2010 People who sat near her was saying she was chering on you lot I thought she was offering us (City) out for a scrap or blowjobs all-round. Scary, either way.

CosbehFox Posted 6 April 2010 Posted 6 April 2010 I think the topic on its thread went off from the original post. I agree with Nick's original sentiment. I was one of the lucky chaps who completed triple of zero points in the week, about 600 miles for one goal. Depending on locality, current form and date/time - we carry a number of nobs in the support. Starting at Derby - plenty on show, abuse shown to our players and then lots of 'daft' away virgins. Cardiff - despite a small number, a really supportive following. West Brom - I was in the bottom eight rows so alongside the old folks but I didn't see any issues. Bar the stewarding and policing being the worst in the country I have witnessed. At Swansea this season, I happened to be in front of a few bingo dobbers. You'd have thought after that performance we were battling relegation from the Football League. My particular annoyance being the carted out line 'I've paid £25 for a ticket and £40 to get here, you serve up that shi*e'. That's football, yesterday's game against QPR showcased that. I know some folk on here had a 'domestic' with some fools at Hereford last season too. Funny thing is I always remember our Wembley days as days where our support who collective enjoy their days. I just don't see the same unity in our support now, they would rather argue amongst each other.
CosbehFox Posted 6 April 2010 Posted 6 April 2010 Yesterday in my opinion was great, before even during and after just goes to show opinions differ, the fox travel folk seem to moan whilst lads have a decent time. I stood 3 rows up on the upper bit 1st half a couple sitters behind me but they didn't say anything and I honestly wouldn't have done anything if they had. 2nd half further back and it was about 6 of us in front of 4 seats. People drink, go to the match and let off steam I won't tell anyone to sing stand up etc. as long as they don't ask me to stop swearing, sit down and the like. Oh and whilst complaining about drunk fans, people should know that I know 2 nicked yesterday 1 taken out at half time and they were dumped in vans full of Leicester and their only crime all of them....having a few pints. If our away support was made up of the folk from the first 10 rows then it's pretty simple I'd have stopped going a long time ago, very thankful to the lads who come and like to have a good time no matter what the result, Sheff United April 08 anyone? Depends what you mean by lads. I certainly agree with most youve written but there's nothing worse than the same bunch of blokes I see at all the 'important' or 'local' away who are touching 40 acting right coonts. Majority of the folk who speak of our supportive, the ones I mention are the opposite effect.
Houdini Logic Posted 6 April 2010 Posted 6 April 2010 Original Post a very simple question - do you think any other set of fans would be any different? Life has it's proportion of idiots, not just Leicester and not just football...
Daggers Posted 6 April 2010 Posted 6 April 2010 Funny thing is I always remember our Wembley days as days where our support who collective enjoy their days. I just don't see the same unity in our support now, they would rather argue amongst each other. I don't believe it is confined to our support - or even football come to that. Yesterday, I took the kids to the Tram Museum at Crich. There was a 1940's Event taking place, the highlight of which was a parade of some veterans and a bunch of people pretending to be soldiers. Suddenly right next to us a ruck kicked off between a bloke (with children and dog) and an old couple, because bloke with dog was blocking their view. There was no problem with them moving to the right or with him apologising and shifting, but they set to it none the less. Stupid twats. No thought for his kids, or mine, or anyone else nearby. Seems to me that everyone thinks they have the right to do whatever they damn well want these days, with no thought or regard for others. We live in times where everyone knows their rights and someone else has to be to blame if their life isn't perfect. The problem isn't City fans, the problem is 'people'. People are thick. People are cunts.

There's a certain amount of lad you can be without being a twat. I respect fashion and was in a right old tangle on Friday but I don't think anyone could have labelled me or my behaviour a cvnt. Although perhaps if I was a Brummoie I wouldn't have enjoyed the Momo Sylla chants in Spoons too much. Deservedly thrown out.
Dr The Singh Posted 6 April 2010 Posted 6 April 2010 I thought she was offering us (City) out for a scrap or blowjobs all-round. Scary, either way. i thought she was fit............if she's ever on this forum, call me!!! I was sat in the east stand and to be honest, the city fans seemed rather quite, but to be honest the baggies werent mch louder!!!

lcfcadam Posted 6 April 2010 Posted 6 April 2010 Imagine if we were like this Do you reckon the Red Star Belgrade fans held a 21 page debate on their messageboard about the grave dangers of flares? I bet injuries in that sort of situation are really rare, and I seriously doubt anyone there's worrying about a fookin asthma attack!
Daggers Posted 6 April 2010 Posted 6 April 2010 I bet injuries in that sort of situation are really rare, and I seriously doubt anyone there's worrying about a fookin asthma attack! Are you thick?
lcfcadam Posted 6 April 2010 Posted 6 April 2010 Are you thick? Okay after watching the whole video I realise that maybe they are a little over the top, even by my own health-and-safety hating standards... However the point still stands - we get our knickers in a twist over one or two tiny little flares, suggesting that they could cause serious injuries. Well if those Belgrade fans can set off that sort of shit and not end up with mass death and burning, I think we can safely say that our rather feeble little efforts are unlikely to do so either.
lcfcadam Posted 6 April 2010 Posted 6 April 2010 That's a rhetorical question, right? Oh come on! Am I really the only person who finds this fear of something remotely, possibly, just a little bit unsafe really pathetic and sad? I thought the general consensus (big word for someone thick...) was that health-and-safety in this country had gone far too far?

Where's your evidence that there have been no injuries or deaths relating to the use of flares in European stadia?

I thought the general consensus (big word for someone thick...) was that health-and-safety in this country had gone far too far? No, it was in response to you belittling the potential seriousness of an asthma attack. Oddly enough, in this country at least, people with asthma will go to football games (how dare they, I know!) and they have a right not to have their health jeopardised because someone feels a flare will improve their own 'matchday experience'. Seems to me you have the attitude that you have the right to do whatever you want at a football match, and bollocks to anyone else who might want something different.
