Jimmy Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 as well as Waghorn has done if we had to pick between signing him or Vaughan I'd choose Vaughan anyway
Karljohn Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 Great say you want to play at Sunderland next season now just when we are going into the play offs, Great timing. The lad has stepped up since Matty got injured, his appetite for the game should be applauded, fair play to him, been at Sunderland since he was 8 he's bound to want to get a hat trick at St James' Park. If he never kicks another ball for us he'll go with my best wishes and has already got my young player of the season vote.
Tony Pine Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 as well as Waghorn has done if we had to pick between signing him or Vaughan I'd choose Vaughan anyway glad you're not our manager then
Nick Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 http://www.safc.com/...2256213_2029945 don't sound like he wants to stay at leicester. That's the way the article is written. Go back and read what Waghorn actually says. (in quotations.) He simply states he's come to get experience and he hopes he'll be able to carry this back to Sunderland (when his loan expires) He then talks about how great Leic fans are and how he wants to get in the play-offs - not really much else! N.
MPH Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 Great say you want to play at Sunderland next season now just when we are going into the play offs, Great timing. Just a little reminder that he didnt say he WANTS to stay at sunderland but that he would be happy to stay. There is a huge difference in those words and he has been the ultimate professional and has chosen his words very carefully. He also said that no one knows what will happen come the beginning of next season
Jimmy Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 glad you're not our manager then a fully fit Vaughan is a better player then a fully fit Waghorn. Vaughan is lacking match fitness but as he plays each game he gets sharper and begins to show more class. he would of played a lot more games for Everton if they played more then 1 striker
shiv Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 http://www.safc.com/news/20100420/waghorn-experience-will-prove-useful_2256213_2029945 don't sound like he wants to stay at leicester. Link has already been posted mate
JoeyB Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 SAFC - 2 1/2 year SS 2 1/2 year So by the looks of it, waghorn only has a 2 1/2 year deal which expires this summer, so unless he gets offered a new contract he is available on a free transfer, if he does get offered a new contract and we offer him a deal we'll have to pay compo to Sunderland so i reckon if were prepared to do that we could have a gem on our hands! Oh and Football Manager says it expires 30/6/2010
MrSpaM Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 Why are people just going back and forth on this constantly? Waghorns contract expires in the summer If we offer him enough money, which chances are we'll only be able to afford 'if' we get promoted, he'll come to us If not he'll stay at sunderland warming their bench, or join someone who can afford him End Of
BrummieFOX Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 as well as Waghorn has done if we had to pick between signing him or Vaughan I'd choose Vaughan anyway Agree! Not that Waghorn wouldn't be a strong signing. I'd be delighted if he signed, so long as we don't pay over the odds.
Tony Pine Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 a fully fit Vaughan is a better player then a fully fit Waghorn. yeah, and he's consistently injured. that's my point. waghorn may not be as technically gifted but he's more of a guarantee over a season.
FOX_TROT_07 Posted 21 April 2010 Author Posted 21 April 2010 I know it's not the most reliable source but word is around ipswich that keano is only going to let conner wickham go if bruce adds waghorn into the deal. Keano was the one who gave waghorn his big chance at sunderland. Like I said im only getting this from relatives in ipswich so it's not a reliable source but just thought id mention it
lou Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 Hes not going to say on a SAFC article he doesnt want to play for them... he wont burn any bridges as that would be stupid. Ive heard from someone who knows him personally that he would like to stay here and thats good enough for me. At the end of the day it may not be his decision. Either way Im grateful to him for his contribution this season anyway, but it wouldnt be the end of the world if he goes back.

Webbo Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 If he signs for us he signs. If he doesn't then he doesn't. There's nothing any of us can do so there's no point worrying about it.
whitlock Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 Unfortunatly its one of them things that happen to teams every season. Hard not to get attatched to a player thats done so well for us this season. Be decent if he signs for us but if not then you've gotta have faith in NP to find another gem on loan or a perm, got a dease record so far!

Corky Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 If we get him then great, if we don't then we've had an excellent season out of him and we can look for someone else. Hope he stays permanently however.
Fosse Fox Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 Face it, the only player of Premier League class that we possess has been hobbling around on crutches for the last two seasons...
Salieri Posted 21 April 2010 Posted 21 April 2010 Face it, the only player of Premier League class that we possess has been hobbling around on crutches for the last two seasons... Jack Hobbs > Tunchev. England centre back in the making. Ideally Tunch returns to fitness and partners Jack, solid pairing.
carterfox90 Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 A Hobbs and Tunchev pairing makes me hard. :giggle: me to !!!!
Fosse Fox Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 Jack Hobbs > Tunchev. England centre back in the making. Ideally Tunch returns to fitness and partners Jack, solid pairing. Much as I like young Jack, I have my doubts as to whether he will/would ever hack it in the Premier League. And I would be amazed if he ever got a full international call up. However, if a fcukwipe like Terry can make it... Jack's career seems to have been based on the mistaken belief that he was some sort of defensive wonderkid (that precocious debut at Lincoln at the age of 16 months). I don't know who the Liverpool scout was or what he was on that day but I am pretty certain he didn't know the difference between 'child prodigy' and 'early physical developer'. Look at the facts: in three seasons he made only one full league appearance at Anusfield. His first Championship stint at Scunny divides opinion. I might be being a little unfair to the lad but my feeling is that we got him at least in part because he found the second tier tough going. As for the international record, three U19 caps for someone who will be on the over age (and uncapped) roster for the U21's isn't that impressive considering the lower league tat often selected at that level. I really don't want to blow Sasho's trumpet as, quite frankly, he is a topic that has been done to death on this board. All I will say is that he is that he is technically the most accomplised defender that LCFC has ever had. All I can say for Jack is that he is, on balance, a better Premier League prospect than Waggy ( a 3/1 as opposed to a 10/1 shot).
carterfox90 Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 hobbs has come on leaps & bounds this season without tunchev being there to help him through a very tough season we will do well to keep hold of him i fear i would say he's been my player of the season a possible future england player
Houdini Logic Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 Always puzzles me how Morrison gets overlooked...
