Wilson_6 Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 after are win yesterday and blackpool losing, aswell as thier next game agaisnt forrest,, are we getting excited now? any one think we wont make it ?
sdb Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 Reckon the Watford result will determine it. Win - Play Offs; Lose - remaining 2 fixtures look tough. Draw...not sure.
Corky Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 No, we haven't done enough. Needs to be mathematically secure before we can relax.
jonthefox Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 i wont be happy untill after the boro game. Ive supported city that long.
irDeano Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 I'd like to say it's looking good but knowing Leicester anything can happen... The season we went down I was optimistic after beating Barnsley and look what happened. I think at least 1 more win and possibly a draw out of our last 3 games will get us there
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 If we beat Watford I think that could be that. Blackpool got within sight and have proved to be bottlers - and were not....beating QPR and the manner of the Peterborough victory showed that.
Nick Posted 11 April 2010 Posted 11 April 2010 after are win yesterday and blackpool losing, aswell as thier next game agaisnt forrest,, are we getting excited now? any one think we wont make it ? Having looked a our fixtures and the others around us, I hate to be the grim reaper of death and all - but I think we may need another 6 points.
Wilson_6 Posted 11 April 2010 Author Posted 11 April 2010 seriously were 4 pts clear of blackpool, who still have to play forrest bror are 6 pts behind and have to play west brom and us and brilstol 8 pts how can ppl be so pesimistic?
Wilson_6 Posted 11 April 2010 Author Posted 11 April 2010 defo and swansea have none of that which should be a good thing
Jordan Posted 12 April 2010 Posted 12 April 2010 Not yet. 4 points and we'll definitely be safe. Not if Swansea go 2-1-0 and Blackpool run the table.
billyfox1 Posted 12 April 2010 Posted 12 April 2010 Why do people keep thinking that Blackpool will struggle so much against Forest. Most teams would be very happy with a home game against them at the moment, their away form is terrible, and they are going to start resting players. I personally can't see Blackpool slipping up on Saturday so a win is must against Watford. http://www.tribalfootball.com/forest-rest-players-ahead-play-offs-754181
leftsideoverhere Posted 12 April 2010 Posted 12 April 2010 Definitely not. Must make it safe, so (much as it will cause strife at home) we need to beat Watford on Saturday. One slip or a touch of poor form at this stage of the season and there aren't many games left to put things right. Hopefully it will be Swansea, not Leicester, who learn this the hard way this year. Only when we're definitely over the line should we start thinking about who we play in the playoffs rather than if. But at that point I am tempted to say we might need to throw away a couple of points, depending on the situation above us. I really, really don't want to have to visit those miserable stadia in South Wales again. So whatever it takes to play Forest in the semi's please.
Ric Flair Posted 12 April 2010 Posted 12 April 2010 Win our two home games and we're pretty much there. However, an unbeaten finish to the season is what i'm looking for as we need to have ultimate confidence to get past Cardiff/Swansea and Forest. Come on Leicester one final push.
Babylon Posted 12 April 2010 Posted 12 April 2010 Are we mathematically already in the play offs? No, so there is the answer.
calum_lcfc Posted 12 April 2010 Posted 12 April 2010 9 points to play for and 9 points needed to finish as high as we can, simple as that.
samjohnson Posted 12 April 2010 Posted 12 April 2010 After doing some complex maths equations and stuff like that... 8-| I have come to the conclusion that 4 points will be needed to secure a play-off place... But I think 1 win would be enough. Blackpool are due a "seasonal fook up" like we had not long back. Yet again... Looking at the Nottingham Forest away record since they played us...
Hitesh Posted 12 April 2010 Posted 12 April 2010 As said a few times already, we need 4 points and we're not there until its a mathematical certainty! We need to see the job out...
Corky Posted 12 April 2010 Posted 12 April 2010 seriously were 4 pts clear of blackpool, who still have to play forrest bror are 6 pts behind and have to play west brom and us and brilstol 8 pts how can ppl be so pesimistic? Forest have picked up one point in their last eight away matches, Blackpool will fancy their chances. Boro aren't out of it yet. Reading are still in the shout given their form. We have a decent cushion currently, but while teams can still catch us we are not certain of our position.

sdb Posted 12 April 2010 Posted 12 April 2010 just did a table predictor... we need 4 points, for sure. That would take us to 71. I also had Swansea getting 71 (with worse GD) and Reading getting 69. (several others on 68/69 with worse GD) However, that was with Reading only getting a point v Newcastle. If they win that game tonight/tomorrow(?) then they also finish on 71. GD should see us up then, but 3 points from the next 3 games will very possibly NOT be enough! Reading's run in on paper is pretty nice.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 12 April 2010 Posted 12 April 2010 We've already done enough for me to be happy, quite a long while ago actually. If you mean "have we done enough to secure a play-off place," don't be silly. The opposition can overtake us, so we need more points. Ipso facto, we haven't done enough.
