FoxyPV Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 http://www.itv.com/electiondebate go to this and watch the worm. Cameron gave a cringeworthy anecdote about going running with a soldier who is just back from a Tour. Clegg and Brown are doing well.

Jon the Hat Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 Dave looking and sounding much more confident tonight.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 22 April 2010 Author Posted 22 April 2010 Dave looking and sounding much more confident tonight. Really??? He got slapped in the chops by a couple of Brown's comments and Clegg is still performing strongly, don't think its looking to good for ol Dave!
Bryn Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 Still think Gordon Brown is the only political heavyweight on display.
FoxyPV Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 Dave looking and sounding much more confident tonight. He must have been absolutely shite last week because he isn't coming across well tonight. Brown should stick to his policies and the stats as going on the attack just doesn't suit him. Clegg is doing quite well but is hit and miss on topics
Webbo Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 I didn't think anyone was brilliant last week including Clegg although Cameron was disappointing. I think (Cameron) he has landed a few punches this week but nobody's landed a KO blow.
acooling08 Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 I think Cameron came off the best tonight, follwed by Brown then Clegg. Clegg was bullshitting so much when the immigration question came up because everyone hates his policies on that. Talking about tackling evil criminal gangs capturing the angelic illegal immigrants? Really? What a todger.
Fosse Boy Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 Cameron will have taken some voters from UKIP and possibly even further to the right after that, but Cleggy's final plea just about edged it for him again I think. at Charlie Brooker's twitter - "This is the worst Kraftwerk gig ever."
martyn Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 Thought Brown was the strongest of the 3 tonight, although that probably wont get reflected in polls. Clegg didn't really set out clearly his plans re Immigration and Trident, despite having the chance.
Jon the Hat Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 Typical Labour using lies to scare the elderly into voting for them. Well out of order.
MC Prussian Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 When will Labour and the Conservatives finally stop the bickering between each other? This constant showing-off will ultimately lead to both side's demise, with a laughing third in the middle. From what I recall, the Liberal Party used to be quite a stronghold in Britain, until Labour showed up and took them the working-class votes away. A classic case of Phoenix rising from the ashes? How much does Labour still represent the average British worker? And how much longer are the Tories capable pulling the wool over people's eyes? Coming soon to a booth near you.

Benji Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 Clegg finally tackled on policy and he crumbles, immigration started to get a bit embarrassing. To be fair, and i never thought i'd say this after last week, personally I thought Brown was 10x better than last week and took the night. On performance that is and his attempts to talk reason and respectfully, nothing he says will make me agree with his policies though. Cameron was better but still a tad disappointing. He should have took the opportunity to grill Clegg on adopting the Euro and make him squirm when he struggled on immigration policy in particular, Brown did very well there.
Craig Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 at Cameron changing his policy halfway through the debate, shambolic.
Fosse Boy Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 Must say I wasn't impressed with the way they all sucked up to the Cathloic vote when the question about the Pope was asked. I think Cameron came off the best tonight, follwed by Brown then Clegg. Clegg was bullshitting so much when the immigration question came up because everyone hates his policies on that. Talking about tackling evil criminal gangs capturing the angelic illegal immigrants? Really? What a todger. Yeah, because Albanian child prostitutes come here of their own accord don't they? The bastards.
Guest Bilo Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 Didn't catch this debate but the consensus from friends who did seems to be that Cameron and Brown were much improved, with Clegg failing to live up to the high expectations he set last week. I'm not entirely sure where this will leave the race now, probably a beginning to the return of normality with the Tories and Labour vying for votes.

I'm not entirely sure where this will leave the race now, probably a beginning to the return of normality with the Tories and Labour vying for votes. I didn't see it that way - I thought Clegg had by far the best speech writers and coins of phrase constantly referring to the 'two old parties' talking up the youth and intelligent ideologies that lacked a degree of substance but he was never really challenged - I think he's in front to be honest.
Craig Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 Not sure if it was mentioned earlier, but I was quite pissed off at the 'referee' mentioning todays newspaper claims regarding Clegg. Still, I'd expect nothing less from Murdoch's lot.
FoxyPV Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 A youGov poll taken after the debate had Cameron as the clear winner - What debate were they watching??? I thought he was lacking in any substance (through gritted teeth) but he did get in some good jibes here and there. Clegg did well on immigration forcing the issue and making a mockery out of the other two. He argued well but I thought he let the Europe issue slip a bit and completely fluffed the Pope question (by the way who the fook gave that load of wank the go ahead?). Lovely jibe at Boris. Brown started well but lost his steam half way through and when he attacked he looked out of place. He made a purse out of that Pope question though. Regained a bit near the end and sounded authorative. I think Clegg will still be in front come tomorrow in terms of popularit of the leaders, with the tories losing more ground to the other two. Brown's "i think women - of which you are one" to some auld biddy was the quote of the night.
l444ry Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 The after debate television chat is absolutely pathetic. Everyone these pillocks interview thinks their man won. They dig out some unweighted early poll done on the internet and make that the headline news. A fine debate where all the participants did well (because of no TV presenter and minimum audience input) ruined by an obviously biased analysis.

l444ry Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 Radio 4's the way to go. Bet a poll of radio listeners would have "seen" it differently. All this presentation and body language shite does your head in!! Might as well get rid of the Queen now. We're electing a President.
