Walshy5 Posted 3 June 2010 Posted 3 June 2010 Hmmm if what he has "done wrong" is to vote for a legitimate party that hes legally able to,,how can he be sacked? Isn't that what his right is,,the same as yours and mine? Do we not live in a free country? Also if LCFC are going to make an example of him for this reason,,are they not going to take money from season ticket holders and fans who also voted BNP coz im sure Brown wasn't the only one? If he was to be sacked for other reasons then fair enough,,,but if he was outed because of his political stance, he would have a clear case for unfair dismissal. Couldnt have put it better myself. Agreed 100%

I'm not sure what the labour laws are over there but I'd be amazed if the contracts don't have a "football against racism" clause in them. It's not without precedent as shown in this Guardian article. http://www.guardian....omofinformation

CosbehFox Posted 3 June 2010 Posted 3 June 2010 I will say this again. Subtract the racism for a moment. If you go into your place of work, make a statement and go on to say something directly offence to your colleagues. You would face your manager being extremely displeased and possible gross misconduct dismissal. It's even worse to have the lack of intelligence to say something before the biggest event of the season/year thus disrupting the work place affecting team work. Even more so if you're vice captain. Nothing to do PC, racism or freedom of speech. I believe the term is 'Treat others how you'd expect to be treated'. It's common respect and courtesy.(Although, I could suggest that with Browns alleged comments are actually inciting racial hatred - in the same manner Abu Hamza did.) It was idiotic, daft, foolish thing to do. If Brown is duly ignored by the club for selection, it's for the better of the club and it's players again disallowing the racism factor. Nearly 60% of people seem to be missing the point that it's not Brown's vote which is the issue, it's the statements surrounding it.
samuel Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 Couldnt have put it better myself. Agreed 100% Hello Gary!!....How's that deliquent half brother of mine getting on at your place?. Cheers

Sorry , but take the racism element out and we would never have even heard about it Dressing room bust-ups happen every week up and down the country and usually go unreported , except if someone gets badly hurt or gets hit in the face by a penis Brown acted stupidly, but others should have acted with more dignity It cost us dearly and neither side comes out looking good , NP should have banged their heads together and told them all to fookin' grow up

If it was a premise without racism, Brown would have been left out of the team and disattached like Porter was and no-one would have really cared which is exactly my point. You upset the team spirit and the majority of squad, you'll be dropped simple as. Nothing to do with racism. He was an idiot basically and will pay for it. NP did bang their heads together on the Tuesday before the second leg but he clearly thought better of including Brown as there would be a problem of trust.

SMX11 Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 Isn't it illegal to sack someone because of their political beliefs? If you vote BNP it doesn't mean you a racist, it just means you are an idiot This guy probably voted BNP
FoxyPV Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 Dressing room bust-ups happen every week up and down the country and usually go unreported , except if someone gets badly hurt or gets hit in the face by a penis I don't know what happens in your changing rooms but things like this never happen in mine. (at least not that i know of)
Jimmy Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 Isn't it illegal to sack someone because of their political beliefs? If you vote BNP it doesn't mean you a racist, it just means you are an idiot This guy probably voted BNP yes but we wouldn't sack him we'd pay up his contract which is perfectly legal as he'd get all the money he was supposed to anyway

PAULCFC Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 Sorry, but comparing something which has not been proved. And if it was was his democratic right,(see post above). To be compared to a terrrorist is wrong.
moseeds Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 Sorry, but comparing something which has not been proved. And if it was was his democratic right,(see post above). To be compared to a terrrorist is wrong. It might be a democratic right to tell non-white people to go home but doing so in any multi-racial workplace is likely to result in discord. I'm sure no one here would be daft enough to defend BNP policies in a multi-racial workplace democratic right or not.
lovelcfc Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 they shouldnt have been talking about it anyway but stupid thing 2 say
Zingari Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 I don't know what happens in your changing rooms but things like this never happen in mine. (at least not that i know of) It was reported recently that Patrick Viera slapped Nicholas Anelka across the face with his penis in the Arsenal dressing room Not sure about the veracity of it though

Not if the BNP have anything to do with it we wouldnt. getting rid of people based on their own skin colour? yes, that sounds like a 'free country' Banning people from joining their part based on their skin colour? yup, sounds really free to me..... ( only rescinded because they were forced to for legal reasons). You fool.

( only rescinded because they were forced to for legal reasons). You fool. I suppose you could liken their behaviour to groups like The association of black police officers and black solicitors! Don't see many crying out to ban these organisations though..............talk about fvcking hypocrisy
CosbehFox Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 Sorry, but comparing something which has not been proved. And if it was was his democratic right,(see post above). To be compared to a terrrorist is wrong. It was probably no need for the comparison espically when it wasn't the main point of my post but the pick-up of the media and the lack of legal reaction from City/Brown suggest there is at least some truth. Again I am talking about his statement surrounding the rumoured vote. For info, Abu Hamza was charged with 16 offences....only one related to terrorism (respectively a handbook you or me could download from the internet), the majority related to stirring racial hatred. Interesting Griffin of BNP got away with 2 charges of stirring racial hatred. Anyway that's not needed here.
Smudge Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 yes but we wouldn't sack him we'd pay up his contract which is perfectly legal as he'd get all the money he was supposed to anyway Not if it was a breach of contract.
The Doctor Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 I suppose you could liken their behaviour to groups like The association of black police officers and black solicitors! Don't see many crying out to ban these organisations though..............talk about fvcking hypocrisy those groups aren't wanting to deport everyone not born in a paticular country from that country though are they?
MPH Posted 5 June 2010 Posted 5 June 2010 I suppose you could liken their behaviour to groups like The association of black police officers and black solicitors! Don't see many crying out to ban these organisations though..............talk about fvcking hypocrisy so because the organisations you mentioned discriminate in that way, you think the BNP should be allowed to aswell? Makes no sense at all.
MPH Posted 5 June 2010 Posted 5 June 2010 those groups aren't wanting to deport everyone not born in a paticular country from that country though are they? this is a valid point.. to forcibly deport someone, from a home they have paid for, with money they have earnt with their own hands... Basically, by voting BNP ( if he did indeed do so) Wayne Brown would be stating some of his own team mates have less rights than him and have no right to be in this country... yes... this would indeed be a 'free country' if the BNP came into power...
Heskey2011 Posted 6 June 2010 Posted 6 June 2010 Brown is good Championship player . But in prem, not. - Goal - I think he was a good player a couple of years ago helping Hull's promotion push but i saw him at Hillsborough towards the end of the season and seriously he was clearing the ball in side wednesdays half!.....kept hoofing it forward i think 1/10 actually connected with a city player, he has no class and the days of CB's who can't pass are long gone. If he's voting BNP he's essentially sticking the middle finger at a huge number of Leicester fans. NP - use it as an excuse to terminate his contract on the grounds of bringing the Club into disrepute. what a tit!
