Jfox Posted 5 June 2010 Posted 5 June 2010 Adam Le Fondre's agent has dismissed reports that Derby County or Leicester City have agreed a deal for the Rotherham United striker. Says on Sky Sports
Jay Posted 5 June 2010 Posted 5 June 2010 SKY SPORTS Adam Le Fondre's agent has dismissed reports that Derby County or Leicester City have agreed a deal for the Rotherham United striker. The 23-year-old scored 30 goals for the Millers last season after his arrival from Rochdale and has been linked with a summer move following the club's failure to win promotion from League Two. Upon joining Rotherham, there was a verbal agreement that Le Fondre could go if a Championship club made an offer, but his representative Jesse Learoyd-Hill says there have been no bids. Millers boss Ronnie Moore has recently stressed the prolific front man is not for sale, although Le Fondre is expected to attract plenty of interest over the summer.
jonthefox Posted 5 June 2010 Posted 5 June 2010 I think the press realise waggys not coming back, so we'll be linked with every striker going. wouldnt be bad to have him though.
Ike O'Noclassed Posted 5 June 2010 Posted 5 June 2010 Another French striker? We've got too many already who aren't much cop.
rico Posted 5 June 2010 Posted 5 June 2010 Another French striker? We've got too many already who aren't much cop. He was born in that well known French city, Stockport !!
KFS Posted 5 June 2010 Posted 5 June 2010 Can't see much truth in this. Would be a huge step up for him, I think it would be one of those signings who hits the ground running or only cuts it at that level. I would rather get a ex prem player or a young loan prem player, just for that experience. Would Pearson sign him? How would he fit into our squad, he's tiny btw...

So was Waghorn, Morrison had a massive step up as well.
Ziggy1990 Posted 6 June 2010 Posted 6 June 2010 showed nothing in Rotheram's playoff final..... can e handle zeh big occasions?!
Daveaway Posted 6 June 2010 Posted 6 June 2010 Hmm he is still young enough, with the players we have at City, I can see him learning a few things off the senior player we have. I think he be one to keep tabs on. Were did Morrison come from was it not the lower leagues. Do we take a chance on a lazy Prem has been who be here for a quick payout. i.e Vassell or Harewood.
C-man Posted 6 June 2010 Posted 6 June 2010 Saw him in the play-off semi-final against Aldershot. Wasn't overly impressed with him, he didn't really stamp his mark on the game. Having said that, Rotherham were perhaps the most boring side to watch I've ever seen in a home play-off leg - he didn't get much chance to shine and he did manage to poach one just before half-time.
Babylon Posted 6 June 2010 Posted 6 June 2010 We were linked with him either last year or the year before.
teblin Posted 6 June 2010 Posted 6 June 2010 We were linked with him either last year or the year before. Yeah, start of the league one season. The guy has a great record at that level, whether he can step up who knows.
Fosse Boy Posted 6 June 2010 Posted 6 June 2010 A two division leap may be too far for him so I'd be cautious if we went in for him, but I suppose you've got to take some risks from the lower leagues otherwise you never unearth the unpolished diamonds.
MPH Posted 6 June 2010 Posted 6 June 2010 I will trust and be excited with absolutely any signing Nigel is willing to make. Our success to failure ratio on signings is astounding.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 7 June 2010 Posted 7 June 2010 I will trust and be excited with absolutely any signing Nigel is willing to make. Our success to failure ratio on signings is astounding. Hmmmm - yeslaw of averages say thats got to change soon right?
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 7 June 2010 Posted 7 June 2010 Nigel's done well, in the past though we have made some dreadful signings The frontline of Elvis Hammond, Carl Cort, Dj and Barry Hayles springs to mind.
Tuna Posted 7 June 2010 Posted 7 June 2010 Some of NPs signings have been dodgy - McGivern, Neilson, Kermorgant, Adjerevic, Verma even N'Guessan barely featured beyond January.
Bugg Posted 7 June 2010 Posted 7 June 2010 Some of NPs signings have been dodgy - McGivern, Neilson, Kermorgant, Adjerevic, Verma even N'Guessan barely featured beyond January. Personally, I don't think the two highlighted are bad players, Kermorgant took no stick until that night.
poopbutt Posted 8 June 2010 Posted 8 June 2010 Personally, I don't think the two highlighted are bad players, Kermorgant took no stick until that night. you've either got terrible memory or selective memory. he got shit over the whole season.
Lichfieldfox. Posted 8 June 2010 Posted 8 June 2010 We could get O'Grady back as he's proved it at a lower level. I think Kermorgant will blossom next season. All managers make a few duff signings, at leas tNPs didn't cost a lot and most are still young enough to develop. I would have kept Gradel over N'Guissen and we can send McGivern back to Manchester City.
Mee Posted 8 June 2010 Posted 8 June 2010 Pearson will have an idea of who he is going to sign. As someone previously said, we will probably be linked with a lot of strikers. Be nice to see who NP brings in though.
dandannieldanok Posted 8 June 2010 Posted 8 June 2010 you've either got terrible memory or selective memory. he got shit over the whole season. He got off lightly considering he's contributed practically nothing from day one.
Foxyroxy Posted 9 June 2010 Posted 9 June 2010 Please not Adam Le Fondre... Morrison yes, Austin yes, Le Fondre No!
