Legend_in_blue Posted 4 July 2010 Posted 4 July 2010 ]now you mention it I remember seeing Sousa there at the Walkers v Cardiff Old news. What we're getting with MM at the moment is something as clear as mud tbh. His statements are utterly pointless as all he is trying to do is pull the wool over everybody's eyes. All that ever comes of what he says are more uncertainties and more questions to be answered, none of which ever will. Why indeed was Sousa at the Cardiff game? Under invitation perhaps, but what other motive was there behind this? Was NP aware of this? What would the ramifications of been with this had we made it to the Premiership? MM says he's disappointed not to have made it, so why go public with your next man in charge during the most important game of the season? His motives breed uncertainty and doubt.

19hundred&frozen2death Posted 4 July 2010 Posted 4 July 2010 From Stringers Twitter IanStringerBBC Paulo Sousa is not OFFICIALLY the Leicester City manager although from what I know, its about there and we could have confirmation next week Sounds promising... [ quote] mate says sky sports says it has been anounced in portugal that sousa is the new leicester manager
JmorsonLCFC Posted 4 July 2010 Posted 4 July 2010 I'd prefer someone more experianced with English football. My dream candidate would be Nigel Adkins, or O'driscoll, have huge respect for them two.
Onions Posted 4 July 2010 Posted 4 July 2010 Does anyone really believe Ian Stringer btw? He talks more shit than Sky Sports. The amount of rubbish that comes from that guy is nuts. Yes He might be right in this case, but I think I'll wait till its on the OC before I react.
Webbo Posted 4 July 2010 Posted 4 July 2010 Translation from Portugese paper. Paulo Sousa signs for Leicester CityPROMOTION IS THE BIG GOAL After a stalemate in the business, the career of the Portuguese coach Paulo Sousa in England will continue at Leicester City. Ending a season in Swansea , where he earned a respectable rating (7. place of the second division) , the former Portuguese international , 39 , flies to five . th of last season ranked in the same step , signing for three years . Although not the main favorites , promotion is the big goal No more likely to be true than an English paper though.

If true that Sousa is the new guy in charge, it is a pretty shitty thing for MM to do - to invite your next manager to such an important match. It is difficult to have much credence in MMs motives because he always clouds his real thoughts with predicatble opinions which he wants the fans to hear. Whilst it might be true that his money has a;llowed us to survive he doesnt come across to me as somebody you would want behind you holding a set of knives. It always amazes me how fickle football fans can be - NP was a good guy who knew his stuff and took us with in a whisker of the Prem. For whatever reason probably the pursuit of absolute power - MM cannot abide having a manager who is more succesful or popular or liked than he is. MM is not a man who seems to have a lot of integrity - and whilst he remains in charge of our football club, nobody can feel safe. Tbh H~~l are the only winners in this fiasco - it cannot be good to be searching for a new manager at this stage of the season.

Or, maybe the possible investment, or takeover would only happen if the consortium concerned, were allowed to have their own choice of manager in. Personally, i think Pearson was doing a good job, with a good backroom staff, and in Steve Walsh, a head of recruitment, with a real eye for talent, and i didn`t`t see the need for change, but maybe the consortium wanted a more world renowned name to work with!

You are basing that denounciation on a series of assumptions... you should go and work for the Sun, or the Mail

His motives breed uncertainty and doubt. unless something was already in the air back in May, I mentioned in another thread about how we have no pre season schedule at all we have 3 friendly games lined up when we normally have about 8, we have no reserve fixtures, no games against local sides, Hinckley, Loughborough etc. I can't believe that if Pearson honestly expected to be here come August he would have hardly any pre season games lined up before they return for training. he's an organised bloke. All this about Pearson being shocked and surprised seems to me a load of crap, it seems clear he didn't have any plans for preseason lined up and therefore I imagine he probably had no desire to come back, he had already turned down, delayed contract talks for whatever reason suggests me that both sides are not exactly forthcoming with the truth. The failure to organise a pre season schedule shows a lack of professionalism from within the club
RizLCFC Posted 4 July 2010 Posted 4 July 2010 When the Pearson to Hull rumour was in full flow, Milan said if Nigel left he would replace a good manager with another good manager, is Sousa a good manager? Plenty of Swansea fans are saying Leicester are welcome to him!

Plenty of Swansea fans are saying Leicester are welcome to him! There are also plenty that don't want to see him go. Nice to see on their forums that there isn't any slagging off of Leicester City (not that ive seen anyway).
Matt Posted 4 July 2010 Posted 4 July 2010 There are also plenty that don't want to see him go. Nice to see on their forums that there isn't any slagging off of Leicester City (not that ive seen anyway). And there has been a few people on here questioning if Pearson is really that good Whether they are just bitter or honestly are questioning him i'm not sure - but there certainly was no questioning on NP when he was here.

Plenty of Swansea fans are saying Leicester are welcome to him! But there are also quite a lot of City fans slagging Nigel Pearson off, unjustly imo. Therefore should we take much notice of what Swansea fans say regarding criticism of Sousa? If Sousa is to be our new manager, let's hope that he can recruit or bring with him a good assistant manager & talent spotter as per Steve Walsh. It's so important to a club like ours that we can bring youngsters through the academy or spot talent elswhere. Loan signings are essential also, just look at the talent that Steve Walsh brought to City, unknown names that turned out to be fans favourites.

Well his backroom staff currently are: Bruno Oliviera - Assistant Colin Pascoe, Adrian Tucker, Alan Curtis, Nelson Jardim - Coaches Lil Fucillo - Chief Scout
Salieri Posted 4 July 2010 Posted 4 July 2010 Fucillo? Swear he used to be here? Apparently so : in November 2006 joined Leicester City as chief scout.[1] On 21 March 2008, Lil Fucillo was appointed chief scout for Newcastle United.[3] (from wiki)
Salieri Posted 4 July 2010 Posted 4 July 2010 Hmmm, so who did we sign during his tenure here....? EDIT : Bit pointless on reflection seeing as we haven't appointed Sousa yet, let alone his chief scout!
Fox You Forest Posted 4 July 2010 Posted 4 July 2010 Hmmm, so who did we sign during his tenure here....? Just going by the dates of 06-08 I'd say not many worth remembering.

Agree, but just for the record, the legends that are, and were, Jason Jarrett, Luigi Glombard and Sir Geoffrey of Horsfield.
Salieri Posted 4 July 2010 Posted 4 July 2010 Just going by the dates of 06-08 I'd say not many worth remembering. Fair point. I'm sure someone (with too much time on their hands) will compile a list of players we signed during that period! If he ended up coming here then i would be interested, though, as you say, probably wouldn't make for great reading.

Fox You Forest Posted 4 July 2010 Posted 4 July 2010 Reckon it'd only be worth doing from when he arrived to when MM took over 'cause their is no telling who was recommending/signing players up until Pearson came in.
