Looks like Sousa is the man

On the Swansea website, basically saying what we already know:

Swansea

Atleast the Swansea chairman keeps his fans (And to some extent our fans) up to date, Milan take note - Mind you hopefully we won't have him for too much longer :fc:.

:giggle:

It's all agreed and settled. We're going to have a decent midfield next year if him and Whittingham signs (as is hotly tipped).

That said, it is silly season.

who said were gunna sign darren pratley and peter whittingham ? and were we gunna get the money from ?

''As a club we do not normally comment on speculation on our official website, but I believe that in this instance the silence is damaging for the football club.''

Silence isn't damaging ours so just be patient FFS.

Hardly a 'hands-off' warning. Sounded more like he's just waiting for the approach and to start building a 'management team (that) will be stronger, fully focussed'. Taking a look at some of the Swansea forums it seems that they've been waiting for a club to come in and nab him because he isn't exactly flavour of the month down there.

Latest word from TB is that Swansea started pre-season training today. And Sousa wasn't there.

But they did get it from Swansea's 606, so the potential for bullshit is high.

It wasn't meant to be in regard to a new manager it was in regard to NP leaving and many other things in the past the MM has not kept us informed by and lied to us.

To be fair, out of the "candidates" that are being touted about for the job, Sousa and arguably Mowbray are the only ones that really excite me.

I know Sousa's brand of football isn't the most attrative at times however it seems he gets the job done. The fact Swansea only scored 40 goals last season in the Championship would be the only draw back. That said, their fontmen for the season of Beattie/Pintado/Bauza/Kuqi/Trundle are hardly blessed with pace and havent been the most prolific in recent years anyway to my mind.

The thought of it potentially being Dowie actually makes me feel ill. Don't get me wrong, I'd back him if he was put in charge but Jesus Christ on the proverbial bike we can do better than that. Surely!?

Anyone?

Sousa for me thanks very much.

Swansea about to sign a player under the recommendation of Sousa.....I wonder what that will do to the bookmakers odds.

Swans boss closes in on midfielder

Colace: Oakwell exit

.Swansea City boss Paulo Sousa is closing in on the signing of Argentinian midfielder Hugo Colace following his departure from Barnsley.

Colace was named the Tykes' player of the year last season but is a free agent after rejecting a new deal at Oakwell.

And the 26-year-old is due at the Liberty for transfer talks next week with a deal almost agreed.

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins said: "He has proved himself in the Championship with Barnsley and we think he will prove a good acquisition for us.

"We have virtually agreed terms with Hugo. The player and his agent are coming to Swansea next week to talk through the proposed agreement and hopefully to finalise things."

This has worried me. If Sousa is signing players on behalf of Swansea where does this leave Leicester. Is he really interested, is this just paper talk. Why would he be signing players and the Swansea board give it the ok if their manager is about to leave?

Tom Kennedy signed for us and there were two more players in the offing only a couple of weeks ago and Pearson still left. Until a deal is finalised, Sousa is acting and will continue to act in the interests of the club who pay his wages. Right now that's Swansea.

Press in Portugal saying it is done , signed a 3 year deal. From stringers twitter. Nothing official yet.

Sounds promising.

Do you think anything will be confirmed tomorrow or is it another rumour day? :)

Nah won't be announced on a Sunday. Monday morning if true. Suprised Portugese media know about it before the English media though.

The News of The World are reporting in tomorrows paper that Sousa has signed a two year deal and we are just waiting for the two clubs to sort out the compo.before it is announced.Sorry but i don't know how to do a link.

Very much so. Looking at the alternative candidates, Sousa [and probably Mowbray] are the only credible managers, IMO.
