superfox1980 Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/swansea_city/8783302.stm? Maybe its not as nailed on as we think ?
Bettsj2 Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/swansea_city/8783302.stm? Maybe its not as nailed on as we think ? 'But Mandaric, the former Portsmouth owner, stopped short of ruling out a move for Sousa in the future.' He's ours. simple as that.
Smiffy Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/swansea_city/8783302.stm? Maybe its not as nailed on as we think ? Sounds to me like he's covering his arse as Jenkins has basically said that we'd better not be talking to him unofficially...which we may or may not be doing.
superfox1980 Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 Ok maybe it is nailed on !!! Sounds like Sousa missed the first day of training. http://forum.planetswans.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=78404
Finchy Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 So what are the chances of a Sousa and Powell dream team? Anyone know if Sousa has backroom staff he keeps with him?
AyewJoking Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 Cant really judge him til Novemberish but as a precaution I'm abandoning my hopes of automatic promotion/play-offs to play-offs/mid-table.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 I reckon mid-table / play-offs as well. All depends who we bring in transfer wise, really though.
Jon the Hat Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 I am delighted we have moved the conversation to our expections for Sousa, and not just whether a move for him is in the offing or not.
Unabomber Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 He wasn't at training with Swansea today and they have set a press conference on Monday, so looks nailed on.
superfox1980 Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 He wasn't at training with Swansea today and they have set a press conference on Monday, so looks nailed on. Apparently announced on swansea sound today.
J.Lisemore Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 He wasn't at training with Swansea today and they have set a press conference on Monday, so looks nailed on. Where have you heard this?
Unabomber Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 Where have you heard this? It's from Swansea Sound radio station.
J.Lisemore Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 It's from Swansea Sound radio station. Ahh cool. Good appointment if true.
Bettsj2 Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 A new manager in the offing! Great appointment if it's true. If it's true that he didn't attend training today then it'll surely be announced before the end of today.
Daggers Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 Apparently announced on swansea sound today. Apparently not, according to their website and the BBC http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/swansea_city/8783302.stm
Legend_in_blue Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 Apparently not, according to their website and the BBC http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/swansea_city/8783302.stm There's more chance of me believing cows live on the moon than anything MM says at the moment. He's been playing the fans for ages and knows EXACTLY what he is doing. Apart from attempting to fool the masses...
Tilley Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 IanStringerBBC I've been told there will be a statement on Swansea City's website in the next hour re Paulo Sousa and no official request for LCFC to speak
MikeyT Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 Leicester City chairman Milan Mandaric has failed to rule out a move for Swansea City boss Paulo Sousa. The Foxes are in the hunt for a new manager after Nigel Pearson left the club for Hull City earlier this week. Reports have strongly linked Sousa with succeeding Pearson at the Walkers Stadium, although Mandaric has only confirmed he is in the process of putting together a shortlist. On the speculation surrounding Sousa, Mandaric told the Western Mail: "I cannot comment on that, but we are in the process of forming a shortlist. "I was quite surprised at Nigel Pearson's departure. But that is in the past and now we have to look for what's best for this club and to replace a good manager with a good manager. We are forming a shortlist and we will start to approach clubs in the next 48 hours." Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has stated there had been no contact between the two clubs and added: "As far as I am concerned, everything has been running as normal. "And considering our relationship with Paulo and with his agent, I would fully expect them, if there was any approach direct to them and not via the official route through myself at the club, to let me know about it

Matt Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 Milan needs a slap. He needs to sort things out, tell people straight, and get out of our football club.
phil_scfc Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 Sorry to pee pee on yer patates but the "press conference" is just the standard Monday press day where journalists can ask the manager questions. Training doesn't actually start until Monday - the players met up and were sent to the University for physiological tests today. Bruno Oliveira, Sousa's No. 2, was there as were several others on the coaching staff. No real reason for Sousa to be there although fans were expecting him to show up. Looks like you lot will have to wait until Monday at the earliest...
Collymore Posted 2 July 2010 Posted 2 July 2010 Milan needs a slap. He needs to sort things out, tell people straight, and get out of our football club. Maybe there is nothing to report though...
