DoubleDecker Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 You will have an excellent manager if he does go to you (it seems likely) Ignore the crud about boring football, the only thing missing for us last season was goal scorers - apart from the odd rubbish performance that all teams experience at this level we played well and created more than enough chances to have walked into an automatic promotion spot. He will ensure a sound defence and patient play which might not appeal to those who claim to to dislike hoofball but all the while want route one stuff. My only concern is his stickability, he seems to have left QPR under a cloud and now us. However how much is down to him and how much to those who wanted him out is anyone's guess. It should be remembered that after the absolutely awful position Martinez left us in last summer Paulo took us to our highest league position for 27 years and something like the 7th best finishing position in the club's history. Apart from our games I wish Paulo and Leicester all the best for the forthcoming season

All the best for the season! Hope you get your managerial situation sorted soon and i'll keep my fingers crossed it wont be Dowie for you!!
davieG Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 Fans with a dose of realism are always welcomed. Shame for you but we know how you feel about losing a decent manager unfortunately as fans it's out of our hands. Hopefully Sousa will improve our position and you can find someone who will take you to the next level. Good luck.
Koke Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 I'm a bit worried about his signings tbh. His record in the transfer market is not very good.
Jon the Hat Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 You sir are a gentleman! Good luck for your next trip on the managerial merry go round.
Criggers Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/sport/Leicester-City-talk-Paulo-Sousa/article-2379499-detail/article.html Seems as good as done. But you never really know with Leicester. Or the Mercury I see Harper is going Hull as well according to SSN. Going to "join pearson who he nearly joined at Leicester before his Leicester exit" Looking forward to having Paulo in if its all true. Should be interesting to see what happens with these Thai investors as well edit: Forgot to say, good luck to Swansea in finding a new manager, we all know how painful that is. Sorry that we - in a fashion - poached yours away as well
Koke Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 Perhaps that means Darren Pratley is coming to us rather than Forest.
Alexikokopops Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 You sir are a gentleman! Good luck for your next trip on the managerial merry go round. I echo these sentiments
Tom_LCFC_1990 Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 Good luck to find a new manager too. I hope Sousa is confirmed soon, we dont need any other rubbish 'coaches' being linked with us.
bluebeau Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 Hi DoubleDecker! Good to receive a post from a Swansea fan without any hint of bitterness. Cheers, you are a sport & I wish your football club well for the new season. Hope you soon get yourselves a decent new manager. You should be ok on that front, looking at your chairmans last 2 appointments, Martinez & Sousa. Funny old game as someone once said!
Corky Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 Thanks for the input pal Although I'm pleased we've got a new manager (it seems), don't particularly like taking manager's still in a job. Hope you get a good replacement
FoxyPV Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 A balanced positive post from a rival fan is always welcome.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 This guy is an officer and a gentleman. For his sake I hope they really do well, but not quite as well as us. First and second will do me.
milan_foxes Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 Sousa bringing Mark Gower and Darren Pratley with him apparently.
Alexikokopops Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 Sousa bringing Mark Gower and Darren Pratley with him apparently. Where did you see this?
Unabomber Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 Sousa bringing Mark Gower and Darren Pratley with him apparently. We haven't got any money
Joe. Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 Sousa bringing Mark Gower and Darren Pratley with him apparently. Unless we're getting some outsider investment in quick there's no chance we can get Pratley after his season last year. On his way to Forest anyway apparently...
Daggers Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 Where did you see this? Written in green biro in the big boys' toilets.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 I heard Pratley is off to Forest.... I might be wrong though.
OutFoxing-Cov-Since1884 Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 I think as long as he makes us as lean as Pearson did and he did at Swansea, then we'll be fine. As for this about boring football, I thought the games against Swansea were in fact some of the best we played! Therefore, in my opinion, anyway; a good appointment. P.S. I hope we can sign Pratley, he'd be really good for us!
muzzyisalegend Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 Thanks for a refreshingly nice post from a rival supporter! The very best of luck to you and your team for next season - although I obviously hope you don't do quite as well as us! I also hope you get the right boss to take you that extra mile.
Pratlinho Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 No bids have been made for Pratley, so stories linking him with Forest are wide of the mark at present. Not sure that they could afford him anyway.
MPH Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 MM has always has the desire to pay big money to agents. Expect some foriegn imports coming in on bosmans. Its abroad sousa has his contacts, not here.
Tubes Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 I couldnt give a fook if its boring to watch as long as we win!
