Salieri Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Welcome Paulo, hopefully he can build on the solid foundations laid by NP. A new chapter begins.
Bettsj2 Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 No nothing yet betts. You think you know me? You dont know me. Who is this?
Matt Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Just said on RL all but signed he will meet the players tomorrow and address the press in the afternoon Leicester City are expected to confirm the appointment of Paulo Sousa as their new manager on Tuesday, BBC Radio Leicester understands.Sousa, 39, left his position as Swansea City boss on Monday and has been in talks with the Foxes to replace Nigel Pearson at the Walkers Stadium. Leicester have been without a manager since Pearson left to take over at Hull City at the end of June. Sousa had only been in charge at Swansea for just over a year. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/leicester_city/8793219.stm A press conference tonight then maybe? TBH I'd have thought SSN would have reported a Press Conference tonight or the OS would have put something on the website (But we all know how slow the OS is to be updated). I feel it's abit late to announce a Press Conference that would take place today now.

Matt Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 The Holloway one didn't take place until about 7pm but may well have been anounced earlier. Yeah I know it did, but would imagine it was annouced there would be a press conference early afternoon?
Koke Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 I really don't get how Pearson wasn't given funds to spend, but Sousa is? It's got to be a buyout. Sousa has just jumped from one tight budget to another tight budget. He will eventually fall out with Mandy, and Sousa will subsequently head for the exit door. It is inevitable.
hackneyfox Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Because Milan was forcing Pearson out. This was in reply to someone not understanding why Pearson had no money but Sousa does.
Claridges'Shin Posted 6 July 2010 Author Posted 6 July 2010 You think you know me? You dont know me. Who is this? Sorry i was only replying to your post and i don't know you but this is a message forum and i was only being helpful.
whitlock Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Because Milan was forcing Pearson out. This was in reply to someone not understanding why Pearson had no money but Sousa does. Hoos had more to do it with it than MM
Matt Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Hoos had more to do it with it than MM So if that was the case MM obviously still sided with Hoos pushing NP out, surley? Otherwise MM would have said to Hoos, look NP is a good manager he is staying if you have a problem you can go.
whitlock Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 So if that was the case MM obviously still sided with Hoos pushing NP out, surley? Otherwise MM would have said to Hoos, look NP is a good manager he is staying if you have a problem you can go. It looks that way, but thats why MM "tried desperatly to keep NP" NP was stalling over a contract, Hoos didnt want to get to next season and lose NP on a free, he wanted compo if he wasn't prepared to sign a new contract. i dont know the ins and outs, but yeah MM must of had a say within it all.
Legend_in_blue Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Has anyone spotted Sousa in Morrisons yet? That's normally a sure sign that a new manager is in.
richardsfoxes Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Wasnt suprised at all, there is no loyalty in football, everythings cut throat and all about money. Its a shame its like that, its just the way it is. Whatever happens, your a supporter for life, no matter what happens, you'll keep buying a season ticket/Supporting them until you die.
MattyFromLE Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 I know theres loads of debate of who pushed who out - does it really matter? If we get results, and i'm sure we will - we'll be laughing at the end when we're promoted and forest arent

Chairman of the Bored Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 That QPR post. Where do people find the time to write an article that long? Hello and welcome Paulo. Good luck. You'll need it.
Bettsj2 Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Sorry i was only replying to your post and i don't know you but this is a message forum and i was only being helpful. Sorry dude, I actually thought you might be someone I new and was just messin around. No harm done!!
Daggers Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Sorry C.O. but I have to disagree with you. First of all imo MM has never let the football club or the fans down. OK he has a crafty knack of bending the truth, but he's a successful businessman when all's said & done. Even Sir Richard Branson must tell some 'porkies'. I honestly believe that what he does, he does with the best interests of City in mind, call me naive if you want to, but I trust the guy. Secondly, far from leaving a unresolved matter at the football club regarding the Brown incident, I think the players will be well pleased at what City have done, i.e. moved Brown out to P.N.E. so he's their problem now, not ours. Well done City, we don't need or want racists at our club. I hope I am not wrong, but I can't foresee any of the players wanting a transfer, other than maybe DJ, or fringe players such as Neilson. We don't exactly have any players that are going to be irresistable to Premiership clubs, & there are no better clubs than City in the Championship, so why move on? Maybe if the rumours are true regarding investors from Thailand, & they put several £millions into the football club, then you may change your mind about Milan? All speculation at the present time, so we could both be wide of the mark, we'll have to wait & see. Has never let the club or the fans down? You have to be shitting me. The waste of money employing shit which is then paid off, staff and players? The price of tickets? The turmoil created by not pinning staff to contracts? The move to an annual change of shirt? The vanishing monthly benefits? Did you miss all of this? It's not his money he's wasting here - it's debt which is tied to the club for future owners to attempt to settle. Look at Portsmouth for fvcks sake. I don't want foreign investors here, the clubs where it's been successful can be listed on one fvckig hand. The man has been a total craphead from the moment he joined us. Acting in our best interests? Cha.

No-one else has been interested in investing in the club so why people are hostile to MM is ridiculous.
CosbehFox Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 If Mandaric had not put his money into Leicester we probably would have gone bust. No-one else has been interested in investing in the club so why people are hostile to MM is ridiculous. Would we? There was a lot of propaganda around at the time of the takeover. Instead we continue to chase a dream which is not sustainable. Mandaric was after a swift turnaround sale but now the taxman has found him out and he's getting worried. Wouldn't at all to surprise to see him in five years time down at Pompey claiming the hero of the people role. We'd probably be in Sheffield Wednesday's position without Mandaric. And there was another interested party when Mandaric was interested. All because he supposly 'dug us' out, we are supposed to forgive his financial claimback on a decent-sized fanbase. At times, it's most as if the ticket price increase over the past couple of years has been invisible. I vividly remember him promising to back Pearson in January which he didn't and on Saturday, he said he was out of the country speaking to a manager but now according to the Mercury, Mandaric's the hold-up in the Sousa appointment because he's out of the country!!!
unreachable Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 We'd probably be in Sheffield Wednesday's position without Mandaric. So you'd like to be playing in Division One then? Your point is? Mandaric did back Holloway and Allen. My point was that no other person will back the club financially so why be hostile to MM?
CosbehFox Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 So you'd like to be playing in Division One then? Your point is? Mandaric did back Holloway and Allen. My point was that no other person will back the club financially so why be hostile to MM? You said we'd be bust. I said no, we'd probably be in Sheffield Wednesday shoes. That's my point. Mandaric or no Mandaric, the club will live on regardless of division. Mandaric didn't back Allen, he constantly interfered with odd signings and never gave him a fair chance. Holloway admittedly he did and rejection that he didn't want fail. My point was there was other persons willing to back the club financially when Mandaric took over (ask the Foxes Trust and their resistance to allowing Mandaric in). Why be hostile to MM? Because he's probably caused more long-term damage to finances than the short-term gain we have endured during this spell on the pitch. Then we will add on making football more expensive for the average fan down the Walkers. Buying a new shirt every year for his lad, spending £30 on a ticket to watch City play Forest and not forgetting the daft sniggering off his work mates when they tell you that Davids or Pires is being pursued by the club or that you've got another manager in cos Mandaric failed to tied him down to a contract (remember Megson, not only Pearson).

We had a very good season last year - was that MM's fault or do you give him any credit? We weren't far away from the Play Off Final and the Premiership. We hardly had two pennies to rub together before MM arrived. I enjoyed the last 2 seasons and look forward positively to the next. I find negativity depressing and unhelpful.
