CKB Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 Do you think his manhood will fit straight into our backline? or will he slowly push himself into our backline?
currall Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 Hmm looks promising although another young center back if we do get him, do you lot think a more experienced centre back would of been better with the loss of wayne ? I think it was a good deal to send wayne to preston, you cant have soemone who is meant to be a team leader supporting a racist political group and being loud about it in a multi cultural team. When tunchev is back i think hobbs and tunchev will be a better pairing than with wayne.
currall Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 I love me some foreign sounding players. Just hope one of Morrison and Hobbs don't get pushed aside to make way for this guy. Agreed they both did well last season with little experience of the league and considering theyre both only 20, 21
Koke Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 From a Benfica fan on another forum when I asked about Vitor and whether he rated him and he was any good. Yeah, too bad he's a midget. I've always rated this kid because he has all the qualities of a good CB. He's fast, he's got nice anticipation and technique and was even successfully tested as a RB.
MikeyT Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 Watch us get linked with ever Portguese player on the planet now.
Jimbo Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 Watch us get linked with ever Portguese player on the planet now. Wouldn't mind that left back who played for Portugal in the world cup
Alexikokopops Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 Alexander Tunchev, 26 or 27 now, Hungarian International. Enough experience for you? ≠
Ozwin Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 From a Benfica fan on another forum when I asked about Vitor and whether he rated him and he was any good. So he's a right back? That's promising. Agreed they both did well last season with little experience of the league and considering theyre both only 20, 21 Yeah don't get me wrong, if this guy is the next Cannavaro then he can start as much as he wants, but if he's on par with Hobbs/Morrison I'll be dissapointed if they get dropped for him.
Bert Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 This is all but finalised. Not sure whether it's a loan or transfer, but I do know he's getting picked up from heathrow airport tomorrow.
Joe. Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 This is all but finalised. Not sure whether it's a loan or transfer, but I do know he's getting picked up from heathrow airport tomorrow. Sweet, this sounds pretty promising to me.

MC Prussian Posted 7 July 2010 Author Posted 7 July 2010 Michael Ballack and Julio Iglesias combined in one - too fly for the Leics ladies? EDIT: It's a loan move for a year (apparently): http://www.slbenfica.pt/Informacao/Futebol/Noticias/noticiasfutebol_futmiguelvitoremprestimo_070710_64063.asp
Daggers Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 Spoke to my Benfica friend too, he said: 'He's gash.' What is the Portuguese for gash?
Joe. Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 Something about it on Benfica's official site now. http://www.slbenfica.pt/Informacao/Futebol/Noticias/noticiasfutebol_futmiguelvitoremprestimo_070710_64063.asp

The announcement was made this Wednesday at the site confirm that embodied in the central English club for one season, with Leicester City was not entitled to purchase option on the pass of the athlete. " The midfielder, 21, will align well during a time in the second tier of English football." looks promising, but i thought he was a defender? it's sounding like a done deal, looking forward to seeing him play next season
Ozwin Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 Spoke to a couple of Benfica fans on another forum. He's our fourth-choice CB. He's shown flashes of brilliance here and there but still needs some more experience. He's like David Luiz, except he doesn't go forward so many times. He could play for a team like Braga, Portsmouth, Everton, etc., easily IMO. Sounds promising.
Clazie Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 He's a bit small though.. Still, if he can play right-back, anything is better than Robbie Nielson... Anyone for Luis Figo for some creativity in the centre?!
Salieri Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 He's a bit small though.. He's 6'0, not exactly a midget. Sounds like a promising player, but seeing as i can't seem to find any youtube clips of him in action, how the hell can i be sure?
Guest Bilo Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 Actually, the more I see the more I like. Has experience with Portugal's U21s and has performed creditably for Benfica before, so is certainly no mug. Tunchev may or may not be able to hold down a place long term with his injury worries and a quality centre-half who can play the ball will help nicely. Hope he does well and Sousa/Oliveira help him settle in if his English is an issue.
Ozwin Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 Got some more quotes for you lovely people. Is it official yet? Because if so, I'm glad they finally found him a club where he can get some playing time, and the English league should give him great experience on how to be a defender..Miguel Vitor, while being our 4th choice CB, has the potential to one day captain Benfica, and IMO along with Daniel Carriço (of Sporting Lisbon), he could become a starter for Portugal in the future. It gets better. I really do think this is a massive loan for Leicester. In the 08/09 season he was a starter along with Luisão and/or Sídnei. Very composed, he made a total of 5 mistakes during the season, was also very athletic. I really do hope Benfica never sell him and that next season he can play with us, I love the guy and I think he and Daniel Carriço will become the next defensive rocks. I'm actually quite excited about this now.
