ScouseFox Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 Very happy with this after reading the Benfica fans views. Morrison, Hobbs, Vitor and hopefully Tunch would leave us looking very strong at the back. Now for a Portuguese forward and winger
flanimal Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 If we could sign a playmaker for the midfield, then that would be awesome. I don't care if he Portugese or from The Shetland Islands!
Joe. Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 If this guy is as good as Benfica fans are making him out to be then I'm struggling to see a better set of centre backs in this league than ours. Which is pretty much Sousa's wet dream...
moseeds Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 From today's mercury: http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/sport/Paulo-Sousa-makes-swoop-Leicester-City/article-2394824-detail/article.html Paulo Sousa makes first swoop for Leicester City New manager Paulo Sousa has made his first signing for Leicester City after agreeing a loan deal for Benfica's Miguel Vitor. The clubs have agreed a season long deal but personal terms with the 21-year-old central defender have still to be sorted out.
Corky Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 Looks like a quality signing. Very pleased with our defensive options.
Guest DavidJCW Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 Can he speak English? I always worry about signing young foreigners as there is the potential that they won't settle in the country and will struggle to make a full impact because of the language barrier... However, it seems he is highly rated and I'm sure Sousa wouldn't have brought him in if he didn't think he'd be up to the job so fingers crossed!

I think that would be more of a problem if we didn't have any Portuguese staff at the club. Besides, I don't think Tunch spoke much English did he and that didn't stop him from getting a good partnership going with Hobbs.
Edmund Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 He nearly went on loan to Pompey in January. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/portsmouth-potential-transfer-targets-1838575.html?action=Popup&ino=2
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 ... I'm sure Sousa wouldn't have brought him in if he didn't think he'd be up to the job ... No manager brings in a player if they don't think they're up to it. Whether the manager himself is up to the job of spotting talent is something altogether different. Peter Taylor thought Ade Akinbiyi, Lee Marshall and Junior Lewis were up to the job.
Legend_in_blue Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 If Sousa can work wonders with the foreign loan market then it's all good. There isn't anybody better qualified to do this than him at this level. Bring in a Portugese winger or two and a striker. Sorted.
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_6251576,00.html Paulo Sousa has made his first signing as Leicester boss after concluding a loan deal for Miguel Vitor. Sousa has wasted little time in sealing a deal for the Portugal Under-21 international who has agreed a season-long move to the Walkers Stadium. Central defender Vitor, 21, has played over 20 times for Benfica's first-team and is highly regarded at the Stadium of Light. Benfica confirmed the deal, whilst also emphasising that Leicester do not have an option to sign him on a permanent basis. Vitor was previously a target for Portsmouth and almost joined the South Coast club in January.
flanimal Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 Is it just me, or does Miguel Vitor look a lot like Rusty Griswold from The National Lampoons European Vacation?

maddog Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 Morrison, Hobbs, Vitor, Berner+ Kennedy, Tunchev as back up. Neilson if desperate. Nice. Unless Tunchev is fit of course.

Sylvie85 Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 Hope the lads help him settle in and show him where morrisons is!!
