Bugg Posted 23 December 2010 Posted 23 December 2010 Forest sign some American (subject to a work permit) Don't you need a left back now? not a striker?
RedHux Posted 23 December 2010 Posted 23 December 2010 Yep. We've needed one for two years, only nobody seems interested in buying one. That said, we're trying to get Bertrand on a permanent and there's some Norwegian chap whose name's being bandied about. Experience has taught me not to hold my breath.
Edmund Posted 23 December 2010 Author Posted 23 December 2010 Robbie Findley's a good signing for Forest. Looked promising for the Yanks at the WC.
RedHux Posted 23 December 2010 Posted 23 December 2010 Apparently, he's fast as anything but has a shocking first touch. He's free so worth a go.
Edmund Posted 23 December 2010 Author Posted 23 December 2010 Apparently, he's fast as anything but has a shocking first touch. He's free so worth a go. Not seen a bad American play in England. They all have a great work ethic and keep themselves very fit.
Fox You Forest Posted 23 December 2010 Posted 23 December 2010 Not seen a bad American play in England. Eddie Johnson.
Daggers Posted 23 December 2010 Posted 23 December 2010 Not seen a bad American play in England Romeo and Juliet at Verona High was shit. Pisspoor acting and a very predictable retelling of Shaky's classic.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 24 December 2010 Posted 24 December 2010 We're going to have played 3 more games than Forest after Boxing Day, I thought they would make the PO's but they will have a bit of a fixture back log towards the end of the season.

If we lose against Leeds they'll be 2 points ahead with 3 games in hand, might aswell concede my work bets now!

ScouseFox Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 QPR winning without playing well today. Ricoh sparsely populated as per.
Corky Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 QPR didn't play that well and still won pretty comfortably. They look all set for promotion.
ScouseFox Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Cardiff being dicked 4-1 at Watford, makes our efforts there look half decent.
Ozwin Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 Brian Laws has gone. He should never have been given the job in the first place. Takes Wednesday down and then ends up in the Prem, mental.
Edmund Posted 29 December 2010 Author Posted 29 December 2010 http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/29122010/58/championship-laws-forced-burnley.htmlChampionship - Laws forced out by Burnley Brian Laws has resigned as manager of Burnley after the club's chairman asked him to do so. The former Sheffield Wednesday boss, who only took over the post in January, was asked to tender his resignation after a 2-0 home defeat to S****horpe United on Tuesday. Burnley, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, are currently sat in ninth spot in the Championship table. Chairman Barry Kilby said on the club's official website recent results were behind the decision as the Clarets' attempts to launch a promotion push continue to falter. "I have telephoned Brian today and have asked him to step down as manager of Burnley Football Club," Kilby said. "Everyone is naturally disappointed and frustrated that recent results have not gone as we would have hoped. "The board of directors has therefore decided that we need a fresh approach in order to achieve our goal of returning to the Premier League," he added. "Burnley Football Club will make no further comment at this time." The club said a further statement would be released on Thursday. Burnley won their first away league game of the season 2-1 at Barnsley on Boxing Day. Before that they won two out of eight Championship games, with three draws. Harsh in my opinion. I've always rated him. Can't see why they've got rid of him when their only 2 points off the playoffs.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 Darren Ferguson sacked as Preston North End bossFerguson left Peterborough with them bottom of the Championship in 2009 Preston North End have sacked manager Darren Ferguson with the club bottom of the Championship table. The former Peterborough boss, 38, took charge at Deepdale in January, but won only 13 of his 49 games in charge. A statement on the club website read: "The club expressed their appreciation of the efforts made by Darren. "We felt that the league position represented a significant threat to the club and it was felt that a change of manager might bring better fortune." Ferguson's last game in charge at Deepdale was a 3-1 defeat by Middlesbrough on Tuesday and Preston sit five points adrift of 21st-placed Boro in the table. The Scot enjoyed major success in his first two full seasons as Peterborough boss, leading them to back-to-back promotions to the Championship but left by mutual consent in November 2009 with them propping up the table. He took over North End following the departure of Alan Irvine, who was sacked exactly one year ago, with the Lilywhites 16th and they finished the season one position lower. The sacking comes less than two hours after Brian Laws was shown the door by Lancashire neighbours Burnley. Another one bites the dust.
Edmund Posted 29 December 2010 Author Posted 29 December 2010 Two managers from the championship gone in one day. Reckon Burnley sacked Laws purely to nab O'Driscoll from under the noses of Sheff Utd.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 Cardiff City sign Toffee James VaughanDec 29 2010 WalesOnline Add a comment Recommend CARDIFF City have agreed a £1m deal for Everton’s James Vaughan in an early transfer-window statement of intent. Birmingham-born Vaughan has long been on Dave Jones’ hit-list and the Bluebirds boss is close to landing the 22-year-old front-runner on a two-and-a-half year contract. Vaughan spent the first half of the season on loan at Crystal Palace – scoring five goals in 14 appearances – and has plenty of Championship admirers. Leicester and Hull are also keen and Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers expressed an interest in Vaughan before his three-month loan switch to Palace in September. Rodgers said he hoped to “revisit that one” when the transfer window opened in January, but Swansea can not compete with Cardiff’s financial clout. Palace were keen on another loan deal for Vaughan, but Everton are keen to raise cash for January recruits. Although Everton’s strikers have failed to make an impact this season – and the Toffees have lost Australia’s Tim Cahill to the Asia Cup next month – boss David Moyes is willing to listen to offers for a player who became the Premier League’s youngest-ever scorer, against Palace in April 2005. Vaughan has made 59 appearances for Everton, but only 11 of those have been starts and his progress has been slowed by serious knee and shoulder injuries. But Vaughan’s arrival could put serious question marks against the future of Jay Bothroyd, who is out of contract in the summer and eligible to talk to other clubs in January. Now an England international, Bothroyd is sure to be targeted by other clubs in the transfer window. But Jones knows he must strengthen with Cardiff having picked up only eight points from the last 27 on offer. Though still holding second spot, Swansea and Leeds have drawn level on 40 points and the chasing pack have moved closer. But Cardiff’s billionaire backer Vincent Tan is expected to back Jones with cash in January – and Vaughan is likely to be the first new face during a busy month. Vaughan will hope to make his City debut against Leeds on Tuesday. Cardiff have also been linked with a loan move for Manchester United youngster Federico Macheda. Pretty sure they said Bothroyd will be staying.
