MikeyT Posted 16 January 2011 Posted 16 January 2011 Utd will be happy with the draw. Well they have kind of set their formation as though they will be happy with a point now.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 16 January 2011 Posted 16 January 2011 My mate stands to win about £1400 IF man utd and tottenham stays as a draw. I suggest you find out what pub he's going to tonight!
Guest ttfn Posted 16 January 2011 Posted 16 January 2011 That Spurs v United game was in the top 5 worst games I've ever seen.
sdb Posted 16 January 2011 Posted 16 January 2011 That Spurs v United game was in the top 5 worst games I've ever seen. Didn't see the Manchester derby a couple of months back then? Was poor though, although I can think of 5 LCFC games worse. Rafael needs to mature quick.
Muzzy Izzn't Posted 16 January 2011 Posted 16 January 2011 Just got in, from St Andrews and got out alive, you wouldn't want to take your kids to that derby! Thankfully I was in the home area (my girlfriends a Birmingham fan) - The amount of police was ridiculous though.

Really surprised how quiet it was.
Ozwin Posted 16 January 2011 Posted 16 January 2011 Jonathan Pearce is a moron. Banging on about 'a game of this importance' on MOTD, almost suggesting players shouldn't be booked because it's a top of the table clash or something.

Did Brummies charge silly prices for tickets?
Muzzy Izzn't Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Yeah a lot of it was outside the ground. About 5,000 seats were cordened off by riot police and St Andrews is approx 30,000, Villa's lot were only allocated to 1750 (which they sold out) - There was HEAVY police outside and dogs etc and both clubs have said it'll be like this for now according to a bloke I was talking to, as both clubs got a hefty fine from the FA for the violence a few weeks ago for the CC game - and also probably of the pure hatred between the two sets of teams/hooligans probably put off a few REAL fans going with their families or friends. And they fooked up as usual, smoke bomb and flare was thrown at Villa players on the pitch and of course, the streaker, making a complete mockery of the new security measures.

StanSP Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Darren Bent is heading to Aston Villa for £18m, rising to £24m apparently. And Liverpool could make a move for Stewart Downing. Who said January transfer windows were boring ?
Samilktray Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Cant think of any reason why Bent would leave Sunderland for Villa right now.
StanSP Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Can only imagine that something has happened behind the scenes that the public are unaware of. Some bust-up or disagreement with board/manager maybe
Fox You Forest Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Has this reporter got a name correct yet? Darren Brent and Edwin Dzeko.
Corky Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Very surprised by this, I thought Bent was happy and enjoying his football at Sunderland.
lildave3 Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Very surprised by this, I thought Bent was happy and enjoying his football at Sunderland. Me too. Can't really work it out
Super_horns Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 More money/fallen out with Bruce? Good move in someways for both clubs. Villa get a proven goalscoring but Sunderland get a large fee to re-invest into their side and got a couple of decent strikers already.
StanSP Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Babel's got fined 10k for his Twitter incident criticising Howard Webb and retweeting a picture of him (Webb) in a Man Utd shirt. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/liverpool/9363567.stm Absurd I think. Especially if you put it in comparison to the Croatian FA being fined only 9k for fan racism.
sdb Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 not wanting to flog a dead horse here but could this pave the way for Emile to come home?? villa fans seem to think this is the end for him. short memories considering he's probably been their best player this season.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Very surprised by this, I thought Bent was happy and enjoying his football at Sunderland. Money + Cold North East = buy buy Sunderland
Jimothy Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Steve Bruce is already making plans on what he's going to do with the £18m fee for Darren Bent. He's going to pay off his tab at Greggs!
