DJ to Blackpool according to Sky's latest

Tuesday 25th May 2010

DJ Campbell has pleaded with Leicester City not to scupper his dream move to Premier League-bound Blackpool this summer.

The 28-year-old...has urged City not to "do something silly'' to jeopardise his permanent move to Bloomfield Road.

Campbell had indicated he was also prepared to accept a pay cut to make the move.

However, Blackpool...now have the finances to make City an offer, but Campbell fears City will jeopardise his move by playing hard-ball during negotiations.

He said: "What happens next? I can't answer that yet...it is just a case of hoping Leicester don't do something silly.

"But everyone in Blackpool knows how much I love the club – I wouldn't have come back otherwise.

"We'll see what happens during the summer but I have been so happy to be at Blackpool during the second half of the season. I love the club. I love everybody, all the players and the gaffer.

But the move hit a stumbling block last night because Campbell has not agreed personal terms and the two parties are said to be quite far apart in negotiations.

Doesn't seem like we've done anything 'silly'.

Now...about that pay cut.

If this is true and DJ hasn't agreed terms with Blakcpool because he is having to take a wage cut... It is an absolute farce. He keeps banging on about how he wants to go to Blackpool and when we accept a bid he fvcking doesn't agree terms. I'm fed up with it now to be honest, he can sod off because its clear all he cares about is getting his pay cheque each week. He's always come across as an arrogant person and this just proves it. Any footballer who wants to go to a club for the LOVE of the game and the LOVE of that club would take a pay cut. It's not like they are offering him £500 a week or something silly. It's 10k a week (apperantly) and thats a fvcking good wage.

If he doesn't leave today, loan him out and give Blackpool to get him in on the cheap in January. He doesn't want to play here and he's being replaced by a lad 8 years his junior who clearly does. Don't let the door hit you on the way out DJ.

they can offer him a pre-contract in Jan, with us receiving nothing! this has to go through today!

No they cant. Only teams abroad can do that, they'd have to wait till next summer.
