Head Honcho Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 I've been one of Sousa's biggest critics (he was the wrong man for the job imo) but I could see glimpses of what he's about today. Unfortunately I don't think we have the players to suit his style so he still is the wrong man for the job. I reckon he could do well with a squad of quality players but they'd have to be quality and some of our squad are just not ready for and the rest haven't got the quality.
buzzy Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 just heard ps interview some 1st team players have handed in transfer requests big concern
wurmer Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Sousa just rambles in interviews and doesn't make any sense!!! I really miss Pearson and his no nonsense. If we played poor, he would just say it. This is very true, he should leave it to someone else really, rather than just ramble. Reminds me of that 'Randoms' sweet advert.... http://www.rowntrees-randoms.co.uk/default.htm
fox4life Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 I could understand if our performance was really that bad throughout the 90 minutes. but it wasnt. Yes the selections of leaving Morrison and King out is abit strange. But we were not that bad overall. Even spells of the first half we were dominant, we just need something to click in the final third, when it does im sure we will be getting the results we deserve. And poor reffing decisions wont cost us every week. I hope.
STUHILL Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Can I just say we were by far worse than bad today. Clueless. Hapless. Inept. Inconsistent. Disinterested. Slow. Mentally disoriented. We never turned up for the first 45 minutes, the only guy actually caring about the game was Lloyd Dyer. He was the only one trying to make something happen, everybody else was just asleep. Oakley a letdown as always, for a captain virtually non-existent on the pitch, gave away a few good passes. Why Sousa is insisting on playing Moreno as a centre-back, I'll never know. The lad has no clue how to defend, he's way too timid and not made for a rough English game. He miscalculated about ten long balls, easy giveaways and was at fault for Reading's first goal - he was trying to do something fancy in the back end, with disastrous consequences. The worst bit of it, though, is that Reading never looked like scoring. They were bad, they never turned up themselves and simply profited from a Leicester side that actually manage to outperform them in negative terms. A lot of huff and puff from the home side, but without any result. As of right now, to me it looks like we're going for an Ipswich 2009/2010. Starting the season in woeful ways, only to improve after two months or so. All in all, shocking, shocking, shocking. This is how I saw it!! Surprised people think any different. We lost to a very poor side!!
BlueAndWhiteArmy1 Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 seriously, everything is shit! We are shit The ref are shit The squad are shit The manager are shit Reading is SHIT And this season will be shit ... BUT, LET'S KEEP OUR HOPES UP, TOGETHER FOR LEICESTER! This.
wurmer Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 just heard ps interview some 1st team players have handed in transfer requests big concern Did he say this, or is this from somewhere else?
Edmund Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Dyers goal was straight out the top draw. That and the shot which led to a world class save from the Reading keeper. That's the only positives I can really think of.
ibbosuk Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 PlayerS handed in transfer requests!!! I'm worried. On and off the pitch it isn't looking good. I iwll give him his 10 games but after that. I will not hold back. Come on Sousa, prove my doubts wrong Don't see many I want to keep, Dyer, Hobbs, King, dont care if we flog the rest.
Dylan Posted 28 August 2010 Author Posted 28 August 2010 Don't see many I want to keep, Dyer, Hobbs, King, dont care if we flog the rest. Fryatt, Morrison, Berner?
Tuna Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 The first half was a shambles and we thoroughly deserved to be booed off. Reading were lucky to be in front, I felt that we made them look good by how awful we were. Moreno was very, very stupid and naive and horribly at fault for the opener, we need a proper commanding centre half, like Brown alongside Hobbs to do the ugly stuff. Marking was all over the place and there seemed to be no communication. We are using zonal marking which is not working at all. Selection. Where was Fryatt and King? Arguably are two best players and they were on the bench. This was ridiculous. baffling and completely mindless unless they had injury. Dyer, outstanding probably the best overall performance. Logan, just not up to it. He is League 2 standard. When are our managers going to wake up ad realize that Oakley is past it? It is very worrying to see us relying on Howard and Oakley, the spine of the 2008 relegation side. Will history repeat itself? Second half was much, much better. We did not deserve to lose and Reading were incredibly fortunate and should be embarrassed by the result. King's goal was legit and we should have had at least one penalty. N'Guessan just doesn't have it. He tries hard, but he's not up to it. I'd like to be more optimistic but we need a centre half, a quality winger and a quality striker. Otherwise, I think we are going to be in the bottm 3. We are not good enough as presently constituted and it is very, very worrying.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 I will give Sousa time...but I have to say in football one of the hardest things is to find success and consistency, we had after a number of years managed to finally achieve it - and whatever reason the powers that be decided in their infinite wisdom to change that. A massive gamble, that so far is not working. However thats not to say it won't work, it depends how long people can put up with a 'transitional spell'... Milan is normally trigger happy...how many games without a win will it take him to sack Paulo. I would urge him not to - we've got to be in this for the long term. Look at Roy Keane at Ipswich, remember how he started last season - they've had a cracking start this season. Are people prepared to wait until next season for a push, while we spend this season finding our passing boots?!
MPH Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Oh **** off with your O'neill start. This is 2010 under Sousa. Stop the silly comparisons. Sick of all these deluded twats trying to justify a shite performance and shite result by comparing our start with something which has **** all relevance. You sit right there. I'll go get the noose for you.
BlueAndWhiteArmy1 Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Moreno and lamey were totally useless, why drop neilson if he's on good form? And morrison. Also why leave king and fryatt on the bench?(i know thats already been mentioned) but its confusing and worrying.
ibbosuk Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Did he say this, or is this from somewhere else? Radio Leicester interview Question from Stringer to Sousa "Have any of the players handed in transfer requests " ? Quote From Sousa " Yes Players have handed in transfer requests"
The Doctor Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 How the **** was Kings goal disallowed at the end? Couldn't see anything wrong with that. the only thing i can think of would be high foot. But if the ref's going to be that pathetic then their first shouldn't have counted (shirt pull on moreno) and their second shouldn't have counted (as with any corner there was shirt pulling and climbing). By far the better team in the second half but lost out on 1 point (or possibly 3) by a few shite reffing decisions. Still Neilson needs to return for lamey, logan needs to be taken behind the shed and shot ASAP and king has to start ahead of oakley.
Ozwin Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Well that was a bit ****, after 5 minutes some steward comes up to me on the back row and tells me that I've been recorded by the police for persistant standing should sit down otherwise I'll get kicked out so I was sat on my arse like a numpty for 80 odd minutes We played decent, Moreno needs to be dropped or put at DM because he can't win anything in the air and trys to be too fancy on the ball. You can't do that in the CB position.
wurmer Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Radio Leicester interview Question from Stringer to Sousa "Have any of the players handed in tranfer requests " ? Quote From Sousa " Yes Players have handed in transfer requests" Great, that's not good. Was that the only question he actually answered coherently?

Ozwin Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 I think I saw that, was there 2 stewards? Yep, two came up, only one came to me though. He was alright about it, clearly hates having to tell people to sit down though.
cc_star Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Unlucky today, but... The side can be improved by taking Sousa's signings out of it, and what does that say about Sousa? Aren't you supposed to judge a manager by the signings? Also, tactically wrong, with zero imagination - all they wanted to do was pass to Dyer. King should have started, with Oakley on the right, and N'Guessan isn't good enough to start. Players have handed in transfer requests which suggest they don't feel things are going right, a lot of the fans don't feel like its going right I think 4 games is too early to judge, but if we leave it till 10 are we going to embroiled in a too good to go down battle again? I think its becoming more obvious we've got on the wrong train and its leaving the station in the wrong direction
