Am I right in thinking, we can only loan domestically? So any of you rascals who are thinking we can tap up Real Madrid, Barca and Benfica for some of their hotshots are living in a dream world?

correct as all loans are technically "emergency" loans

Just a seriously good central defender please.

For all the moaning about Sousa I happen to think that we are a quality central defender light of a decent team.

It was a shame that we missed out on Williams as I was very impressed with him last year but I cannot see Swansea agreeing to a loan, I think it would need serious money in the New Year. A loan deal till then for another CD would seem the best option.

The good news is that Sousa seems to realise that given his targets earlier this week.

On the subject of the manager (apols for going off thread for a bit), I haven't seen anyone giving him as much praise as he deserves for the DJ sale. DJ would have gone for a song before he included him in the first team. By including rather than excluding as our previous manager did, we ended up with 1.5 million which part-funded Waghorn.

People are quick to criticise but I think on this one he deserves great credit.

Agreed although the mood music surrounding this business suggests that MM was driving the agenda. Amongst the myriad posts about D feckin J Campbell was a report (from a Blackpool supporter) that at the 11th hour MM was still trying to attach sell on conditions and increments for staying up and the no. of games played to the price . Whoever was orchestrating things it was indeed a smart bit of work- the dumb thing was buying him in the first place

Fair point, but MM couldn't have pushed so hard if Campbell had been excluded from the first team.

Back on thread, the Mercury today speaks of loan signings next week and mentions Zayette and Utaka.

I suspect the Zayette thing may well go through reflecting on everything we have heard this week. I haven't seen him play, any good?

Is this right because this 25 man squad is really starting to do my conker in!....

Those that DONT make it in to the 25 cannot play until january when the squads are revised.

Correct?

If so, then i would like Gareth Bale,Theo Walcott,Woodgate if he gets fit and Daniel Sturridge until January please.

Oh and Joe Mattock didnt make Albions 25 either...never mind.

Nah, if they are 21 or under and have been in the english game for more than 3 years they don't have to be stated in the 25 man squad.

Woodgate is just a sicknote, so no dice for him.

OK guys, if Danny Shittu is so good, and I am not suggesting he isn't, why did Bolton only play him 12 times in the last two years? He ain't been injured as far as I know. They obviously don't want him, and obviously know they couldn't sell him! ( Contract cancelled by mutual agreement ). It could just be a spooky, unexplained mystery.

its because hes always been a suspect defender and hes slower than a rock!!
