I wonder how long people will give the new manager [when Sousa eventually gets his P45]. Perhaps till Halloween? And then the next manager will get till Christmas before the fans are asking for him to be sacked.

Seems like we have learnt nothing from the 2007 era.

I've said this before.

2007 had less to do with a managerial merry-go-round than Holloway's incompetence. We were about 18th when he took over (in November). He had plenty of time to make it work. Mandaric's big mistake was not firing him sooner.

According to football rumours.co.uk, Sousas job is under threat and the thai owners want to tie a deal with Sven to take over. MY ARSE!!!!!

IF this is true.

And IF they bring in a 'high profile' or 'expensive' manager without first crawling over broken glass to beg at his feet to bring Martin O'Neill back to the club I will be very, very, very unimpressed.

Fine and understandable if he turns us down, then by all means turn your attention to Sven, Keegan or whoever but if they really feel we have a shot of getting a name like that they have to try for the name that would get everyone in the city singing their praises first.

Did all the changes of management improve our lot in 2007, I'm sure someone must have uttered those same words ?

Tbf Martin Allen wasn't sacked for footballing reasons, Megson left he wasn't sacked because we weren't playing well.

Hmm, not quite sure what I want, for two reasons...

1. There is no guarentee that if we get rid of him things would get better, also, who are we honestly capable of signing as manager?

2. If he goes now the new guy will have lots of time to sort things, and will probably have a better relationship with the players.

I really don't know what to think about this :/

It is a rumour, i've checked on the sky sports news website and it mentions nothing of the sort, and sky sports news atre usually the first to know. I feel a lot of fans are being a little bit harsh and arn't taking some factors into consideration. Although like the rest of you I am far from happy at the way this season has gone so far, I at this moment in time am in full support of the current Manager Paulo Sousa, I believe the 40 year old former Portuguese International will turn things around. What we have to bear in mind is that Sousa plays a different style of football to what Nigel Pearson played during his two year stint at The Walkers Stadium, hes playing more attacking, yes we are bottom of the league which is far from good enough for a Club as big as ours, but I feel the majority of players he inherited when he joined us in the summer arn't suited to this attacking style of play, the takeover of the thai consortium is still pending and the amount of finance needed to purchase new players hasn't really been available, therefore I feel we should get behind the man, be patient, as soon as this takeover goes through hopefully Mr. Mandaric will no longer be with us, I have to say I am far from happy with some of the decisions he's made over the past few years, transfer money will be available for January, and in my opinion I think Sousa is going to have to bring in a virtually complete new squad to suit his style of play, experience is not the key, we need quality, young, hungry players with massive potential, that will not only get us back in the Premiership in the future but keep us there aswell, and to be fair we haver played some good football under him, we get a win at Carrow Road on Tuesday we could well be out the bottom three. So my advice is stay positive, be patient he will turn it around. However if it comes to a point where we are five or more points clear of 21st place with no games in hand, he will HAVE to go, because then we will be in real danger of relegation and relegation is not acceptable or good enough. If he does go in the near future my number one choice would be Dan Petrescu, who is currently managing Kuban Krasnodar, who are currently top of the Russian second tier of football, those of you who don't remember he got Romanian side Unirea Urziceni promoted to the top Romanian League, two seasons later he won it, qualifying them for the Champions League, in the Champions League he got them into the knockout stages and resigned shortly after, although hes Romanian, due to playing in the premiership for 8 years his English is 100% perfect.

No, what we need is a proven manager who can come and inspire the good players we do have here.

Not someone unproven, no experience and part of the current setup, like Mr Powell.

It would be crazy to do that, we would be better off keeping Sousa than doing that.

DAMN IT

We should have checked the Sky Sports News website before we believed this rumour.

WHY DIDN'T ANYONE THINK OF THAT!?

A decent first post until you get to Dan Petrescu.
