Trav Le Bleu Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Sven If this is true, I hope you're all satisfied. Myself, I'm thinking of a sentence that contains the words, fire, jump, frying pan, into, out of... though not necessarily in that order. Because Sven's not going to implement a continental approach to training and tactics now is he? Wonder if more players will be wanting out? Someone please put a smile on my face.
Mack Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 O'Neill, Sven and Lambert all linked. I agree Sven is a bit of a joke, but O'Neill.... YES PLEASE!
dandannieldanok Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 My two concerns about Sven are............... ............ this: Because Sven's not going to implement a continental approach to training and tactics now is he? and that he doesn't seem the sort that will relish the challenge or be eager to stick around.
Edmund Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Trav Le Bleu slowly becoming Trav Le Bore. It feels like christmas has come early for me.
sbfox Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Trav Le Bleu slowly becoming Trav Le Bore. It feels like christmas has come early for me. Pot, meet kettle. The last two months you've been moaning about Sousa, I hardly think you're in a position to claim someone is being 'boring'.

Been reading your posts regarding the Sousa situation and couldn't agree more. Be careful what you wish for springs to mind. Sure we didn't have the best start to the season but we were trying a completely different style of football to what we were used to. Obviously it was gonna take time, and if it was like pissing in the wind then maybe Sousa wasn't the man for us. But personally i think we've had spells where we've played the some of the best football i've ever seen at Leicester so far this season. We gave him 8 games ffs and might have just pissed away any progress that we have made. And now we have Sven... You all think he will last til the end of the season?
Guest Bilo Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Another upside. No more Swansea mongoloids posting their shit on here. :w00t:
Jakemoore Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 If we get O'niel then this is surely the right move for city, sacking Sousa was a little harsh as he's been unlucky. But our start hasn't been good enough.
dandannieldanok Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 sven did ok at man city He did, but there he was a big fish in a big pond, he was in the premier league. I'd be surprised if Sven was relishing taking the relegation dogfight to the likes of Glanford Park, Vicarage road et al.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Another upside. No more Swansea mongoloids posting their shit on here. :w00t: I think this has me more excited than anything else.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 1 October 2010 Author Posted 1 October 2010 Been reading your posts regarding the Sousa situation and couldn't agree more. Be careful what you wish for springs to mind. Precisely my main worry this last week. Thanks for understanding. Another upside. No more Swansea mongoloids posting their shit on here. :w00t: Hurray!
Wdywd Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Mandaric is a fucking abortion. In fact, there are aborted foetuses who have more idea about running a football club than him. 3 years ago, we were in the same position, he sacked the manager and we got relegated. THERE'S EVEN A fooking PRECEDENT YOU SENILE OLD TWAT. Not only that, but he's managed to try to sell the club to the only people in the world that the Football League won't ratify. How has he managed that? The FL would probably approve Hitler ffs.
cc_star Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Sousa out is great news, my dog taking over would be better... - his signings were rubbish (Lamey & Moreno), - his training methods substandard as the players never look ready for a game, - his man-management questionable as a number of a our better players wanted to leave with him in charge - his player selection was wrong, dropped quality players, or players who had had a good game, or played them out of position - Defending.... errrm I don't think I need to explain this one It all adds up to the most clueless and inept individual I've ever seen in charge of a football club The only thing that's tainted Sven is his Notts County experience where shares in the club got in the way of things - he still took them top of the league though, and he did a great job at Man City before the real money came in. Other than O'Neill (who would never work for a tinkering chairman) or getting Pearson back (which will never happen) I can't think of anyone better who would come to Leicester and be an internationally known name to fit in with our new owners wishes (sad I know, but that the way it is)
ozleicester Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 ssn... Quote MM... "the last thing we are going to do is panic and replace the manager" Sad to see Sousa go, an opportunity lost and Sven.. will be a case of wait and see, in truth, whoever takes over will become a hero as the team is on the edge of success and realistically can only go up from here. Not due to management, but to things coming together. Cmon Citehhhhhhh
lcfc_forever Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 It's the right decision for Leicester City - he'd alienated too many players. Would have preferred to things to work out with Sousa from the start but glad we're making the change early while our season can be salvaged. The delight he's gone far supercedes my sympathy for Sousa.
J.Lisemore Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 There is a god! hes finally gone. Not so sure about Sven though, obviously first choice would be O'Neill.
eastendfox Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Not happy, because it's never good getting rid of the manager, but I think it was the right decision. His style of play wasn't working, his chopping and changing of players seemed to be a mark of desperation, and it wasn't really getting better. As for who's next, we always get loads of names, many scary, lets just wait and see? MMs record in this regard, though, both here and at Pompey, is dreadful...
Guest ttfn Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Yes, delighted. Sven's teams are well-organised, but he knows how to play decent attacking football as well.
Jordan Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 This is like a cancer patient being told by his doctor that his cancer is in remission but the doctor accidentally gave him HIV during his treatment. He's happy the cancer's gone, but now he's gonna get fvcking AIDS. We're the patient in this insensitive analogy, and Milan the Moron is the quack.
Nick Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 I am very happy. Ecstatic. Sven has a brain is a proven coach that has won titles in three differnt countries. Lovely. Oh and he's been appointed.... http://foreign.peacefmonline.com/sports/201010/87646.php
Lillehamring Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 i get the feeling that this is less about wanting to get rid of sousa, and more about suddenly being presented with an appealing alternative. at least we'll probably be spared the humiliating anony of a list of awful failed managers like dowie being dragged around for weeks
