nickelbyfox Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 http://www.bangkokpo...ainst-thailand? These guys aren't resting on their laurels, really going to try and tap into the Thai market!
leicesterseddon Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 Who are these guys kidding? Do they seriously think we're going to break into the Asian football market, already in the stranglehold of Europe's elite?
Fox You Forest Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 "Leicester have signed Japan international Yuki Abe and are likely to land a Chinese player and a South Korean star in January's transfer window, he said"
jonthefox Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 Good to see the players will jet lagged to fook for the next league game.
Yokofoxes Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 20 hour round trip over 7 time zones for a meaningless friendly. Brilliant.
nickelbyfox Posted 23 September 2010 Author Posted 23 September 2010 Thinking about it not sure whether this or good or bad, I mean increasing exposure and improving the brand image in Thailand may increase shirt sales etc. but may encourage other Thai businessman to invest into 'Asia Football Investments' the company who owns us, and gives us more transfer money etc. It does however show they are keen on moving forward and trying things to improve the club rather than just pour money into what can become an unsustainable business model (Ex. Man City). However any injuries would be horrible!
Guest Bilo Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 "Leicester have signed Japan international Yuki Abe and are likely to land a Chinese player and a South Korean star in January's transfer window, he said" At least the prospective dog eating chants will have some accuracy. Still a bloomin stupid idea though.
MPH Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 "Leicester have signed Japan international Yuki Abe and are likely to land a Chinese player and a South Korean star in January's transfer window, he said" DavieG, get that bloody transfer forum open again!!!! ( 200 bhat is about 4 quid I seem to remember...)
FoxyPV Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 Stupidly timed friendly - save it for the summer!
Austin Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 Completely pointless. Nothing gained whatsoever from this! unless we sign Ji sung Park off the back of it.
sdb Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 at least we can play 10 reserves + Abe and they wont know
Houdini Logic Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 If my job had perks like this I would love it even more and I'm sure some City players see it like that. They will be treated like royalty in Thailand, stay in the best hotels with their mates (and lovely asian girls!) and get a couple of days in Phuket too. Why is everyone so negative about everything!
teblin Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 Didn't realise Bryan Robson was the thailand manager.
carterfox90 Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 stupid idea in the middle of the season- what has mandrics done to us now!!
MC Prussian Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 In October? After only ten, twelve games played in the regular season? One can only hope the players cope well with the time zones/jetlag. Bit stupid, imagine what this means in terms of flying expenses!!! Roughly 30 people times £1500 (London-Bangkok return) per flight/person.
Mack Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 Remember when as a kid you got a new toy for your birthday and then wanted to take it to School to show off to all your mates? .....................................
Ford Super Sunday Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 Wonder if Fox Travel will be laying on a couple of coaches for the match...
CosbehFox Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 Welcome to the new reality. We are a play toy folks. Few years time we'll be fighting for the club.
James. Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 I'll just add this to my list of reasons why I hate the new owners.
Alexikokopops Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 I'm surprised at how little I care about everything.
leftsideoverhere Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 Foreign coaching trips during international breaks isn't exactly a new thing, is it? A few days off somewhere warm, some light coaching, one gentle game that doesn't mean very much. I bet the players are pretty keen. You're a bunch of miserable gits, honestly.

Agreed, don't get all the negativity, if it's during an international break it's no different to players going off with their countries except will hopefully help the team gel, give them a nice break and something a bit different. I very much doubt we're going to come back with a load of injuries and any jet lag will be well and truly over by the time the next game comes around anyway. Sometimes I really don't understand all the moaning on here.
Far Post Gerry Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 Sweet, finally a 'home' match! Hopefully meet the fellas in a few bars afterwards. Shame they don't do pies in Thailand...
CosbehFox Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 Very rare are those breaks outside of Europe and going over two hours time difference involving a lengthy flight. That said as a player you'd love it.
