Leicester game you regret missing most

I don't even really go to that many games (around 10-15 a season normally) but looking through people's posts I've been lucky enough to see the 3-3 vs Arsenal, Chelsea away, the Brighton game when we got promotion and the play off semi final 2nd leg.

For me though the European nights are the ones I wished I'd been at.

As someone who went to Athletico Madrid I can confirm that if you went by coach it was hell on earth!! 30 odd hours on a coach with no booze except for the ferry. We were all kept in some kind of compound for the best part of an hour with gun toting coppers standing guard. Herded into the ground as soon as we got there where they only sold alcohol free beer and then back on the coach for the same the other way round minus the compound. Seeing Ian Marshall score to put us ahead at the Vincente Caulderon was immense though.

What made it worse was that if we would have flown we would have had the run of Madrid. All of the City fans who had flown had definitely enjoyed themselves the lucky bastards and were singing "Leaving on a jet plane" to the poor buggers like me. :(

we could start a thread of "the games you wished you had missed",but there would probably be too many!

Both Euro aways, wasn't old enough to consider going really but I'm praying the chance comes along again.

Also I can imagine those on the official club trips to Madrid suffered Hell. Would be an unthinkable way of getting to the game.

That Arsenal game was amazing. Ian Wright? What a willy puller. Remember going absolutely apeshit when Walshy's equaliser went in.

Mansfield away QF of the FA Cup in 1970. I went to all the other games during that cup run but missed the one at Field Mill. The semi at Hillsborough against WBA was an awful game but a great feeling when Sniffer bagged the winner. Mansfield, from what I remember seeing on the TV was a typical crushed terraces atmosphere with Lenny Glover scoring the winner (I think). Will check Fossils and Foxes for that. Great memories. Bugger of a final result though.

im 16 so have spent most of my life watching LCFC at the Walkers Stadium, but looking at videos and seeing pictures i wish i went to Filbert Street more often, i did go to a few games like man utd, liverpool, arsenal, newcastle, aston villa back in 2000 but i can hardly remember them, Filbet Street looked a lot better than the Walkers with the atmosphere and the small enclosed traditional ground, there looked a lot more passion aswell, i just wish i went to more of the big nights there such as red star belgrade and athletico madrid, i also wish i went to watch the leauge cup final where we beat Tranmere 2-0 ....... can someone tell me more about what Filbert Street was like? :scarf:

Leicester 5-0 Cambridge - Play-Off Semi Final Second Leg 1992.

Granted I was only 6 but I'd been to most of the matches that season but wasn't allowed to go to this with it being a night match.

I've watched the highlights video so many times since that it feels like I actually did go.

Probably the Charlton cup game when Dion netted in the last minute. Had a ticket but wasn't very well so couldn't go.

Apart from that, not really sure. I suppose the European aways but I wasn't old enough.

I went on the 4 days of hell coach journey too and don't regret it one bit...Needless to say I flew to Vienna though.

One of the funniest things I remember in Madrid was the plane lot singing "the wheels on the bus go round and round " to us coach lot !

Europe.

3-3 with Arsenal.

One that immediately came to mind that hasn't been mentioned yet was beating Arsenal on penalties at Filbert St. The whole Wenger and 'boring Leicester' storm.

I was a season ticket holder but was ill. Was still going to go right until I went to the doctors at about 6pm and I chucked up in the car park! Remember listening to Pegguy's penalty saves on the radio :scarf::scarf:

Missed the final game at Filbert St against Spurs, twisted and dislocated my knee a couple of days before and was in agony, gutted to have missed the final match.

Also missed the League Cup final replay at Hillsborough, living in London at the time and had work commitments.

Have to say that Cardiff away in the play offs was one of the best games I have ever been to.

Great night in the cup. Didn't Flowers play in goal during normal time? He made some cracking saves. One of those games where despite the opponent you just knew we were going to beat them on penos

2006/07 Season - Preston 0-1 Leicester (Nils Eric 90th Min)

Missed this game which basically kept us up that season and missed an ultimate beer day with some top boys!
