Leicester game you regret missing most

Did anyone on here go to both the Belgrade home and away game (which was played in Vienna) back in 2001?

Yes. Opener for Red Star in a cloud of smog at Filbo. Away game was £220 round trip, in and out on the same day. Bit hairy in Vienna as the Serbs were out to get us. Stood next to Austrian copper holding a sub-machine gun, and that was inside the ground! Great feelling when we equalised but we got shafted for being too open after that. It was great that the Austria Vienna fans came out to support us as well.

European games.

WInning at Anfield (think Cottee and Heskey scored?

Derby 0-4 Leicester City.

Leicester 3-2 Tottenham in FA Cup. Would have preferred to have jumped around the stadium as opposed to my living room when De Vries slotted the winner in!

Play-off win against Crystal Palace and the League Cup win over Boro.

2006/07 Season - Preston 0-1 Leicester (Nils Eric 90th Min)

Missed this game which basically kept us up that season and missed an ultimate beer day with some top boys!

Good call about the beer with the boys, for me when I think back about match days its not always the game that sticks in the memory, I remember who I was with, faces and places (The Wellington) that are long since gone, happy memories tinged with a little sadness. Everytime I walk past where the Wellington was it depresses me that it is now a Tesco express.

I missed the first play off final vs Blackburn has to listen to it at work, always gutted about that but made up for it in the following seasons. Going a little further back the Shrewsbury FA cup game when we had to use 3 goalkeepers only a kid at the time but I had been going that season.

I feel quite blessed to have seen a lot of the games people here have mentioned. As others have said I really wished I'd gone to Athletico away. Don't know if I'll ever get another chance to see a European away match.

First thought was Spurs in the cup when De Vries bagged. Remember saying to my dad 'there's no point in going, it won't be any good'.

Turns out I was right...

Euro aways. If only I was my current age back then...

An away day in Madrid in September?

Would have been rude not to.

I can't regret missing games I had no control over going to. So things like the PO finals, Euro aways, anything O'Neill era I wasn't 'old' enough really, and I can't ever think 'if only i'd been there' because I'd probably never have valued its true importance at the time if I had been anyway.

In the modern era, probably Stoke in 08 away. As traumatic as it was, I wish i'd been able to have gone and given support, rather than wandering around the house with the radio and SSN on throughout the game.

Also would have been great to have gone to Chelsea that season. That's about it really. Maybe Huddersfield as well in League 1, sounded great!

Quality thread - you can tell it's international week! Mine was v QPR the quarter final of the cup when Joe Waters scored two goals on his debut - had been down to Luton for the previous round and the build up was real excitement,,,,,,we really thought we were gonna win it that year.

I had tickets for the Leicester v Sunderland game when we destroyed them 5-2, but couldn't go in the end cos of work.

Missed a couple of trips to Wembley too, wasn't best pleased about that either.

Europe. I'd give my left arm for it again.

That Wolves game with Roberts - that was the season I really got into City and my Dad was working.

Tranmere Semi at Home

Fulham in the cups away.

Yeovil away - summed up our League 1 season.

You Fosse boys would have loved it. I was early 20's when we were having our first brief Euro adventure. Pissed up, standing on the installed seats in pen 1. The opposition fans close by in the East Stand and singing for most of the game. Great times! :scarf:
