HULL CITY Post-Match

As I said in the match thread, we would have been battered by Hull under Sousa. In a couple of short weeks Sven has managed to get us to the point where we can take them on at an equal level. Give it more time and we'll be well on track.... I hope.

Always going to be a tight game with Pearson returning and Hull are a decent side with some good players. Not to disappointed with a point.

Should have buried them in the 1st half. We didn't and they came back. Story of many football games. Sven will make us better, defense already seemed to work a lot better.

We should have buried them by half time from the sounds of it. Disappointed we didn't win, but also relieved that we didn't lose. Sounded like Hull had their fair share of chances in the second half!

edit: Didn't see your comments there Jonezy :P

Not quite the 6-1 scoreline I dreamt about, although we were playing with Crouch, Owen and Rooney up front... nevertheless, good start for Sven and gives him more chance to see where we need to strengthen - striker please!

Leicester 1 - 1 Hull. Awful ref AGAIN but not match changing, defence ALOT better, shud have won the match in the first half really.

Disappointing but still positive.

Probably the worst team I've seen at the Walkers in a long, long time. They did literally nothing. Feel a bit for Sven, mind, he lacked options today given the injuries and suspensions.

That said, Yuki Abe is not now and will never be a winger. The lad is terrified of being anywhere near the touch line and isn't a natural crosser of the ball. He plays short, simple, patient passes and looks to win the ball when we're not in possession. The absolute holding player. We'd be better with almost anyone else out there, to be fair.

Thought the Hull support were the worst I've seen in years as well. They must be even more fickle than us. The year they went up I remember looking across from where I was sat and seeing their end packed and pretty loud. It was like a half empty library today in that corner today.

I should iterate, I meant that Hull were the worst time I've seen at the Walkers in a long time.

We looked alright, just short of ideas really. Solid at the back, Davies is a unit and is going to make a massive difference - really hope we keep hold of him for the season. Naughton looks hesitant on the ball but otherwise pretty capable, certainly an improvement I think.

Biggest problem today is we played four four two without any wingers. You simply can't do that.

Curtis Davies sounds brilliant. I think If the board want to show that they are serious about this then they should spend up to 5 million on Davies in January, I know he cost over 8 million for Villa but he's lost some fans having been injuried for so hopefully we can get him for 5 million ish.

ah FEW  in the first half we sounded pretty brilliant! Curtis Davies sounded INCREDIBLE!

We weren't brilliant, no.

Like I said, we played with no out and out wingers and it was a little bit hit and hope at times. We certainly looked alright and could have been two up had their keeper not pulled off a blinder to deny Waghorn but knowing Stringer as I do I can imagine Radio Leicester were somewhat milking how exciting it actually was if that's what you were listening to.

It was an average game at best. I don't mean to sound needlessly negative, there were certainly positives - yeah. Davies did look like a rock and he pushes forward as well which scared the shit out of them at times.

Edit: To put it another way, Thracian won't be best pleased. lol
