Bellend Sebastian Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 It's a lovely story and everyone comes out of it brilliantly
BoneDog Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 Because going public made Man Utd sweat that little bit more? I'm just throwing things into the mix. Well it certainly did the trick if that was the plan. Very plausable. His agent probably messed with his head. Rooney isn't exactly the smartest tool out of the box. But I agree, the whole thing was handled very badly by Rooney and Stretfort and Ferguson. Ah yes, somehow I totally forgot about the agents and their influence (and the money they make from their players). Rooney was definitely badly advised on how to handle this.
sdb Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 Anyone know how much his new contract is now worth for him? 180k a week
sdb Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 the thing is, if his concern is lack of money going into squad additions, surely he'd take a pay cut rather than a massive pay hike!? (not that i'd ever expect that to happen). anyway, he's dropped massively in my estimation and i hope his form over the last 6 months continues a while longer. i hope one day there's a cap on wages, and football clubs can charge fans realistic ticket prices etc. this nonsense kinda depresses me.
Dames Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 This is reeks of a Rooney Ferguson and Gill fix up if you ask me. Some sort of PR stunt to try and take the focus away from his Prossie nailing and crap form if you ask me whilst quite possibly to get some money out of the owners as well Did find it strange Man u were washing their dirty laundry in public. This. 100% Although the timings between each of the events have been strange to say the least and although it may have taken the attention off him shagging a prozzie it hasn't exactly made him look any better in the eyes of the public.
Fox92 Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 Stevie Gerrard could have done all this and claimed that Liverpool arn't bringing in the players to challenge for titles years ago, but he didn't and he doesn't.
FoxyPV Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 He'll be sold within the year. Yaanited are just making sure that they'll get what they want for him. Big contract = big transfer fee. No one is worth £180k a week especially a fooking sportsperson.
Jon the Hat Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Rooney earnt 60k since he signed the contract on Friday. And he spent those 2 days in Dubai.
Fosse Boy Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Stevie Gerrard could have done all this and claimed that Liverpool arn't bringing in the players to challenge for titles years ago, but he didn't and he doesn't. Ste Gerrard, Gerrard He kisses the badge on his chest Then puts in a transfer request Ste Gerrard, Gerrard
purpleronnie Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Rooney earnt 60k since he signed the contract on Friday. And he spent those 2 days in Dubai. I don't get it, with all that money and time on his hands you'd think he might be giving something back. I should give more I know, so I shouldn't really criticise but its hard not to when you hear about things like this.
lildave3 Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Stevie Gerrard could have done all this and claimed that Liverpool arn't bringing in the players to challenge for titles years ago, but he didn't and he doesn't. Taking the piss? Pretty sure that a few years ago it was pretty much nailed on Gerrard was moving to Chelsea. Before eventually signing a new deal
Alexikokopops Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Taking the piss? Pretty sure that a few years ago it was pretty much nailed on Gerrard was moving to Chelsea. Before eventually signing a new deal Yeah, he bottled it when Liverpool fans got the hump similar to those that turned up at Rooney's house
Samilktray Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 Steven Gerrard is a pussyole. Shoulda gone Chelsea and won a few medals when he had the chance
broughtonblue Posted 30 October 2010 Posted 30 October 2010 So, signs a £200,000 a week contract, then out for 7 weeks. £1.5 million for doing feck all. Nice work if you can get it!!
