Fox You Forest Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 Controlled the game from start to finish and it's the first time in a while I've had that feeling of, yeah we're comfortable, even after they'd scored.
MPH Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 I might get shot for this. . Under Sousa we apparently did all our training with theball. We spent 2 months doing this every day. This MUST of improved our ability as a team to pass. Under sven we are improving our fitness too. We now have a fit team who can play football!!!

You know what, I've thought the same tonight....reading descriptions of how well we passed the ball this evening....thinking "hang on a minute...."
samjohnson Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 Best i've seen Leicester play in a long, long time. Really deserved win. Should have scored more - We were all over them... If we can play like this for the rest of the season, then we should seriously aim high...
Ilkeston_Fox Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Just got back. What a game. In true City fashion - we never ever do it the easy way....But this is the way LCFC role. My first trip to ER and most memorable it turned out to be too. We passed the ball with great style. Pressured Leeds for the majority of the game. We could have been 3 up inside the first 15mins. Berner going close hitting the bar. While the last few mins were nervy we held on for a well deserved three points. Moussa had a very good game imo. Gallagher on the other hand was our weak link tonight. He offered us nothing down the right flank and misplaced a few passes. Naughton and Davies are a class above - no other words for it. Oakley had one of his better games I thought and linked fairly well with Wellens. King had a decent game too making plenty of runs troubling the Leeds defence on a number of occasions. Waghorn, while not getting many scoring opportunities he continues to hold the ball up well and battles for the ball. On to Stevie Howard He really likes putting them past Leeds don't he? It was great seeing him and the rest of the City players celebrating in our corner. The fans were pretty fooking decent tonight. The goal celebrations were fantastic!! I smacked my head on a beam just above when we scored our second goal, it made my eyes water somewhat and left a nice bump on my head but was well worth it. I was stood with SamL at the back the whole game. Our steward was sound - never once asking for us to sit down. But the 'Beast' went round trying to get the left side and right side to sit down - without ever really getting them to do so. A number of City were ejected for what I can only assume was abuse rather than persistant standing (otherwise we all should have gone). I saw 1964 Fox marched away for a quiet little word with the stewards and then thankfully he was allowed back to his seat. For those that didn't make it - how did we sound on the radio? I know Leeds to have a decent set of fans on them but tonight I thought they were shockingly quiet. We on the other hand sounded pretty decent in the ground, just wondered if it came across as so. One of the staff on the coaches told us that a Leeds fan went on their local radio station and said "Leicester were so good it looked like they had 15 players on the pitch", very generous from a Leeds fan. On a funny note, when walking back to the coach, I got offered out by a Leeds fan on crutches - I couldn't help but chuckle to myself as I walked past him and his two mates.

Good to hear You lot sounded awesome on the radio. Truly awesome. Singing constantly throughout the match and I would have honestly loved to be part of that tonight. But yeah, your voice was well and truly heard. Leeds on the other hand...
Tommeh Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Youurrr so fooking quiet, we'llll sing on our owmnnnn. We''ll sing on our own we'll sing on our owwwnnnnn..... What a night. 1st proper goal mental since Cardiff, great scenes. Pretty sureive caughtthe lcfc bug again. Thanks Sven x
The Year Of The Fox Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Did we play brilliantly or just well? The first 20 mins were the best I've seen us play for a long time. We were all over them. To say we shouldve been 3-0 up at that point wouldnt be exagerrating. (sp) Sat back too much after that and let Leeds come into it more. Kings touch was brilliant just before Howards goal. Im glad Svens noted how good King is. The last thjing we want when a new manager comes in, is to disgaree with the fans on whos good and who isnt. Controlled the game from start to finish and it's the first time in a while I've had that feeling of, yeah we're comfortable, even after they'd scored. Really? I couldnt watch!
phillthefox Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 what a quality game and once again the travelling foxes kept the singing going all game..... we were on top all game and never looked like losing, but once again we concede and then it was backs to the wall for last 10, but for once we managed to keep the ball and held out ... fantastic game fantastic result sven is KING ... WE ALL ATE' LEEDS SCUM WE ALL ATE' LEEDS SCUM
Finnegan Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 WACCOE being nice: I think tonight is one of those nights where you have to hold your hands up and say we were beaten by a better side, Its fooking horrible but the simple fact is we arent good enough to mount a challenge for the playoffs but we will have more than enough to stay up, mid table beckons. We can blame the defence but tonight just proved that our midfield isnt good enough against the better sides.I hate losing especially to a club like Leicester who we have a shite recent record against especially at Elland Road, but they will there or there abouts at the end of the season. Difficult to blame Grayson when everything he did tonight of what was available was right, we can still put a better side out when everyone is fit but we havent got anyone to replace the likes of Kisnorbo or Kasper. No point bringing Bruce in as he is just as bad as Naylor and Neil Collins has always got a shocker of a performance in his locker that could happen in any game. Curtis Davies would had been immense for us but he would cost money in wages which we all know arent going to be matched.
mikey54 Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Whilst Sven will get all the attention - lets not forget Derek Fazackerley's contribution, sounds like he does a lot of work behinds the scenes - tactics, fitness etc.

Ford Super Sunday Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Still no links for last night's goals? Nope, Sky are beating themselves off to Rooney, which is taking up all the goal showing time on SSN, it'll have to be EMT tonight.
body102 Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 That was being said under Sousa though, What we need and i'm sure Sven has it in hand as we are being linked with a few strikers is we need a striker, we need a goalscorer. Will be sorted shortly i'm sure but that the simple fact of the matter. I only listened to the game as had to work , but from what i heard is the difference between sousa's and sven's styles is the speed of thought . whereas it was all slow build up under sousa it seems sven style is pass it quiick and be more forward thinking . Better penetration which sven obviously knows alot about
davieG Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Didn't go last night and judging by all the reports we obviously played very well but the defending for our two goals you have to say was extremely generous by Leeds and I can't help thinking that if that had been Morrison letting Becchio score I doubt he'd be getting the accolades that Davies is getting in here and the ratings topic. Shame the highlights don't show some of our better play. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FA6OSiwF-d0

Hopefully this means that he is one of the first name on the teamsheet. http://hochi.yomiuri.co.jp/soccer/wo...OHT1T00256.htm This is something thats seriously puzzled me since his arrival. The japanese consider Yuki to be their David Beckham as far as free kicks go, yet none of the players seems to want him to take any every time he's come on. For someone who's supposed to be so talented at set pieces, why have we still got Gallagher and Waghorn taking them all? Yuki was quoted before he came here saying free kicks are like penalty kicks for him, and looking at his history and some of the videos of him, i'm inclined to agree. Please, Please, Please Sven start using him for what he was bought to the club for, we needed a set piece specialist in the squad, and his talent is totaly going to waste.
Scow Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Best performance of the season. We controlled the game throughout apart from the nervy end. While Sousa was not a success, he has laid the foundations for a more progressive passing game. However, our possession last night was more purposeful and played at a quicker tempo. We had four excellent chances in the first 15-20 minutes; I thought it'd be another one of those games where we dominate the play but concede. It's a credit to us that Grayson had put an extra body in midfield after just 30 minutes. They couldn't cope with us, and as a result, started to bypass the midfield at almost every opportunity. Leeds are a fairly limited team anyway, but we made them look very poor. I was a bit surprised to see us go with 5 in the middle, but King did a superb job in getting behind the Leeds midfield and defence with some cracking runs. We've seen glimpses of this before, he was doing this regularly last night and was rewarded with a superb assist for Howard's goal. Overall, very promising. It shows that we shouldn't fear any team in this division. There are no West Broms or Newcastles, and as long as we can sustain that type of performance, then I don't see why we can't rise up the table quickly.
