Lillehamring Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 I might get shot for this. . Under Sousa we apparently did all our training with theball. We spent 2 months doing this every day. This MUST of improved our ability as a team to pass. Under sven we are improving our fitness too. We now have a fit team who can play football!!! good point - i'm tired of reading posts like ' if sousa was here, we'd have lost that' or ' can't believe how much we've changed since sousa went. people forget how potentially dangerous we were under sousa, and fail to realise that the main difference between sousa succeeding and failing was, as he himself said, the decisions the players were making. against Hull that was still the case, and had it not been for davies and naughton that could easily have been a classic sousa performance. last night however, it sounded like we were a bit sharper on that score - that said, we still seem to be wasting goal scoring opportunities and letting teams score too easily (first shot on target again for leeds) so it makes you wonder how much of this is actually down to the players. on another note, watching the highlights, it is clear to see that Howard IS much more useful to us coming off the bench, i mean, he ran into the box to score . i just hope sven doesn't make the mistake of thinking because he's scored he's suddenly 5 years younger and can play 90 minutes.
Filbert's Friend Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Youurrr so fooking quiet, we'llll sing on our owmnnnn. We''ll sing on our own we'll sing on our owwwnnnnn.....What a night. 1st proper goal mental since Cardiff, great scenes. Pretty sureive caughtthe lcfc bug again. Thanks Sven x abolutely right - i witnessed 2 chairs being snapped, and dented corrogate iron immense celebrations, on and off the pitch!
MrSpaM Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 davies cant defend for shiyte... Funny since he got man of the match on Saturday, allthough i didnt personally think he did enough to deserve that
cc_star Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Some good performances in key areas of the pitch, but it was Sven's tactics that won it, it was the perfect way to play away from home. Think it will be more difficult at home where you're expected to play with 2 forwards and therefore lose a man (& some possession) in midfield.
Pegosteve Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Whilst Sven will get all the attention - lets not forget Derek Fazackerley's contribution, sounds like he does a lot of work behinds the scenes - tactics, fitness etc. The same as John Robertson is important to MON success. Faz will be the key to our success, he was a quality centre back, full of commitment from what I remember.
Aeropars Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Didn't go last night and judging by all the reports we obviously played very well but the defending for our two goals you have to say was extremely generous by Leeds and I can't help thinking that if that had been Morrison letting Becchio score I doubt he'd be getting the accolades that Davies is getting in here and the ratings topic. Shame the highlights don't show some of our better play. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FA6OSiwF-d0 Horrible defending for their goal. Gradle should never have been given the opportunity to cross, let alone Davis allowing Beccio to beat him to the header.
Guest Bilo Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 WACCOE being nice: Good read that, they must have mellowed since League One. How do you get on to WACCOE these days, do you still need an account?
Finnegan Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Good read that, they must have mellowed since League One. How do you get on to WACCOE these days, do you still need an account? Yeah. They got so fed up you need an account just to view and they're quick to ban. They probably get a lot of WUMs to be fair. I managed to keep mine cos I don't post.
lovelcfc Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 i went last night we were amazing best performance of the season outplayed them for most of the game
Adster Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 anyone give me a link to watch the highlights of this game please?
davieG Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 anyone give me a link to watch the highlights of this game please? look back a couple of pages
Guest Bilo Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Yeah. They got so fed up you need an account just to view and they're quick to ban. They probably get a lot of WUMs to be fair. I managed to keep mine cos I don't post. Just reactivated an old account there to have a butchers and I've discovered two things. 1) WACCOE really has mellowed. Much more magnanimous and realistic about the fact they've just been promoted and are going to lose a few. Little of the old Leeds sense of entitlement. 2) They're rimming us. Most expect us to be there or thereabouts come May, they reckon King, Waghorn and Hobbs could walk into their team along with Naughton and Davies and that Sven will get us promoted playing like that. Nice to read stuff like that from other fans really.
StanSP Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Yeah feels good to get some recognition. I think we got overlooked a lot in the play-offs last year due to Blackpool's achievements (might be only me who thinks that?).
kimmy619 Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Last night was my first trip to Elland Road and I was really pleased with Leicester's well-deserved win. We were playing like a totally different team. For me, man of the match would have to be either Moussa or Naughton. Even Abe seemed to have a bit of something about him. Bring on Swansea. I was actually shocked at the treatment of the away fans by the head steward lady. So much so, I have e-mailed Leeds this morning. I know it won't actually do any good, but it made me feel better: "I am writing following my first trip to Elland Road on 19 October 2010. We arrived reasonably early and whilst we didn't mind a short wait to enter the ground, it became apparent that every other gate was opened apart from entrance 13 where we were made to wait. Is it your usual procedure to make the away fans wait longer than the home fans? Next, (after a particularly cold wait to enter the ground) a trip to the loo was required. I tried to wash my hands and I was surprised to find that none of the hot taps worked in the ladies toilets. As you can imagine, that was really appreciated on such a cold night. Do you make your home fans wash their hands in cold water or is that a treat saved for any visiting supporter? Next to the stands where we were directed to our seats by a helpful steward. The atmosphere is particularly good for a Tuesday night game and all of the fans seemed to be in a good mood until... Enter the militant jobs-worth. I had been warned about the female head honcho, but nothing prepared me for her overbearing presence. Whilst I appreciate that at any match the fans need to be kept in some form of order, she seemed to make it her own personal mission to try and ruin everyone's experience of Elland Road. Her constant barking at the fans to sit down was laughable. How can you make half of the fans sit, but allow the other half to stand? It was necessary to stand at any time that the play was at the Don Revie Stand end of the pitch due to the restrictive view in the away section caused by several poorly placed metal posts. Surely some discount should have been given to those who could only see half of the match? Next thing I know, the tyrannical rottweiler was screaming at me to sit down. When I complied, she proceeded to stand directly in front of me so I couldn't see anything at all. In the 88th minute, she struck again. She decided to confiscate a horn from one of the fans in her usual iron-handed fashion even though he had been using it in plain view for the whole of the match. Why she decided so late on in the match to do this is anyone's guess. I can only speculate that she felt the need to be deliberately obstructive. As an away fan, it felt as if we were being repressed as much as possible and I would certainly question whether Leeds United wanted away fans to visit Elland Road based on my experience. In the long run, the subjugation didn't work and the fans spirits weren't dampened. I only hope that when the Leeds fans visit the Walkers stadium, they aren't given the same treatment. Up the city."

Loved it when somebody called her 'Hitler's Wife' although he was ejected about 5 mins later even though after being told to sit down, he complied, but they still decided to take him out.

She is definitely one of the most applling people I've ever had the misfortune to come across in a football ground. Leeds will sack this off straight away but get on to the FSF about it. It's clear she uses her "position of power" to abuse away fans week in, week out this way. Disgrace.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Naughton and Davis were brilliant and i was particularly surprised by Mooooooooouuuuuussssaaaaaa!
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Also is football the only sport when it is acceptable for fans to give a random a hug and a dry root?

I have no idea why she was on such a power trip. I am usually quite laid back, but she totally f***ed me off. At least we won though!!

Tommeh Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 The stewards were pricks as per complete usual. I was ok to stand throughout as I was back of the south upper. So many of our fans ejected though, total joke of an operation they have at 3 point road. Thought the noise we made was excellent under the circumstances. Also interesting that we apparently played well 1st 15. Our train rolled into leeds at 19.50 and after a quick taxi got in late, I dread to think how well we must have played in that period!
phillthefox Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 I agree the stewards are complets Nobs at leeds and the woman who seems to think she is hitler was randomly chucking folks out , think she has balls in her trousers
