davieG Posted 4 November 2010 Posted 4 November 2010 At this point in time doing better is not that easy we're running out of loanees that it's worth signing so we're stuck with free agents, they're free for a reason.

muzzy1981 Posted 4 November 2010 Posted 4 November 2010 Has a pretty weak scoring record for a striker. Always worth a look though. In Sven we trust!

Ric Flair Posted 4 November 2010 Posted 4 November 2010 We've got Vassell to fill the right wing/2nd striker role. We do need another target man as well though.
AmyLGK Posted 4 November 2010 Posted 4 November 2010 I love how much faith we all have in Sven He's da man!
MC Prussian Posted 4 November 2010 Posted 4 November 2010 Newcastle fans loved him. A serious cult figure. The choice of past tense in your first statement has me slightly worried.
MPH Posted 4 November 2010 Posted 4 November 2010 Rating players based on their performance in FIFA/PES is the way forward. Yoube clips of real life footy is so yesterday. Pro evo and FIFA are what modern scouts use. Horrifyingly, Images of MM bent over the tv getting kaebi bombing up the right wing, scoring a belter and frantically reaching for the phone has just flashed before me...
rams r4 sh*ggin Posted 4 November 2010 Posted 4 November 2010 if we take him surely he must be to replace gally on the right? me thinks that waggy and vasaline up front. take a very attacking formation with nd and moussa on bench. bring them on when dyer etc start to fizzle out thus keeping up the attacking pressure?
xplicitmaterial Posted 4 November 2010 Posted 4 November 2010 All my mates are newcastle fans and they hated him. Like said i think we could get better but anything that lifts us up the table is welcome.

Sven has on several occasions mentioned the importance of pace. Wether itsas a striker or winger, who knows. The two front men who lack pace are fryatt and gallagher. Sven has said complimentary things about gallagher but I havnt heard him say anything good about fryatt. If I was fryatt I would be worried.

Yeah Howard is the new Usain Bolt these days I still think Gallagher should stay. And that's not just because he got the winner against Preston. I still think he has something to offer to the team.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 4 November 2010 Posted 4 November 2010 Did sod all for Newcastle last season, and with the team they had, I could score more than 1 goal.

If I was fryatt I would be worried. imagine all the tired defenders out their after 60mins of constant barrage of pacey wingers? wear them down then our forwards would have more chance of scoring, defenders to tired to close down to tired to jump for the ball and they would be forced to defend deep thus releasing our defence of pressure as the opposition midfield would start tracking back to help the defence out. that saying pace doesnt mean get rid of quality. gally doesnt have to be sold he would score more frequently if he learned not to worry about the tackle coming in at him. he rushes his shots and wastes the chances. being a scot i thawt he would have more balls about him when attacking

Guest ttfn Posted 4 November 2010 Posted 4 November 2010 Newcastle fan I know hates him. In fact your description of what kind of figure he is, is only one letter away from being correct. I wouldn't say I have a comprehensive coverage of the Geordie fanbase, but a good five or so of my good mates are Newcastle fans and they all love him. Obviously they all hang out together, and opinions are forged as much by who you hang out with as what you see, but I'm pretty sure he was a very popular player at St James'. Shit, maybe, but popular. That's all I said.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 5 November 2010 Posted 5 November 2010 Is tomorrow going to be Pancrate day? Sorry.
