GringoFoxy Posted 7 November 2010 Posted 7 November 2010 Anyone been on holiday recently? Thinkin of escaping the Xmas & in-laws by getting away somewhere? Home or abroad, if its affordable, and there's interesting things to do then i'd like to hear yr suggestions, and also if you'd go back to where ever you went. Thanx in advance.
Unabomber Posted 7 November 2010 Posted 7 November 2010 I went to Holland, Quebec and Toronto in September. Toronto was easily my favourite, as there was loads to do with great bars, restaurants etc. I also got to go to Niagra Falls which was cool. I would recommended this place so much. Quebec is good but definately the kind of place you would want to take the missus. Holland was alright as we spent most of the time in a place called Enchede which is pretty quiet, Amsterdam on the other hand is just mental.
Wymsey Posted 7 November 2010 Posted 7 November 2010 Went on Cruise to Dubai and Abu Dhabi in July and few days after Xmas going to Vancouver

That really sounds like something to consider for next summer if i save the pennies, but due to shortage of time was hoping for something that sounds a little bit cheaper. Never considered Canada thanx for the suggestion

Wycombe Fox Posted 7 November 2010 Posted 7 November 2010 Ski-ing in the French Alps over Christmas is brilliant! The Grand-Massif area is easy to get to by car or flight to Geneva.
stripeyfox Posted 7 November 2010 Posted 7 November 2010 Went to glenridding in the lake district last week. Pissed it down most of the time but it was brilliant.
Unit Posted 8 November 2010 Posted 8 November 2010 Fuerteventuras near , cheap and hot at xmas. fooking windy though! I swear my hairline had receded a few inches after a week there!
Guest BlueBrett Posted 8 November 2010 Posted 8 November 2010 went to Tunisia over the summer. food was a bit rubbish, there wasnt much to do and everybody just wanted your money. It was nice and hot though i suppose.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 8 November 2010 Posted 8 November 2010 Norwegian fjords is brilliant for site seeing but pricey. If you want something cheap but nice head to Riga in Latvia it's quality. For good partying head to the greek irelands or Dubrovnik

Get a flight to Boston. Chill out there for a few days. Hire a car. Drive all of New England. Massachussets, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island and finish up on Cape Cod. Although this is probably best done late summer/autumn. A mate of mine though went over in the winter and the skiing there is highly recommended. Just hire a car out of Boston and head up to Stowe. Can't get enough of the USA.
Guest Posted 9 November 2010 Posted 9 November 2010 Can someone please sort out the spelling mistake on the thread title, as it is really irritating me? Ta.
