acooling08 Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 From the game I can say that this is the worst I've seen them this season after 20 minutes.. utterly awful. BUT we got a point.
Fosse Boy Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Hobbs sounded awful. Really can't understand what's happened to him. I think the amount of drama and transistion at the club this season has affected him in a big way, more than most others. He was very much one of Pearson's Men, and he doesn't quite seem to have adapted like other players have. Factor in that now his formerly almost assured starting place is under pressure from the loanees and it paints a picture of a very nervous young centre-half indeed.
StanSP Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 I see i've just embarrassed myself! Think I need to have a word with myself! Girls talk too much!! This is a man's game!
Wymsey Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Heard from a mate that their fans were 'boisterous'..

I think his confidence is very low. Hopefully he snaps out of it asap as I think he is real quality
acooling08 Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Anyone else blush then when Sven said "it was tight" Haha dirty girl
ScouseFox Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Anyone at the game have a decent view of the penalty? Was it a soft decision?
MC Prussian Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Fair result, shit game. After Gallagher's free-kick went in, we simply stopped playing football. For about 70, 80 minutes there was no immediate attacking threat coming from Leicester. Waghorn once more lost all alone up front. Vassell without the impact he had last Saturday, Dyer should've started instead - much more dangerous. Sheffield United's equalizer came out of nowhere, what a blip in defense. Up to that point, we once more looked like we were pretty much in control of the game. Letting a rather safe lead slip away this way is shambolic. Simply failed to seal three points early on - it all backlashed. Big time. Yeates' second a beauty, have to give that to the Blades. His celebration afterwards completely c*ntish, though. Two defensive midfielders at once on the field don't work. Either Wellens or Abe have to take place on the bench (I know whom I'd choose). King AGAIN anonymous and without any impact on the forward play. The performance today a letdown overall, and the team simply thought everything would work out automatically after being 1-0 up. Way too many backward passes when they should've moved all means towards Simonsen and Hobbs put in another shaky performance, half the man he was last season. A disgrace in a way because, as a collective, they've clearly done Eriksson no favour. The players have no one else to blame but themselves. Even though they're better at Pride Park, Derby will prove a much more stern test on Saturday. Lucky we got away with a point. Disappointed, because we know we can do A LOT better than that. PS: And still no goal from a corner.<_<
Joe. Posted 10 November 2010 Author Posted 10 November 2010 Encouraging that we're still getting results even after playing badly, that's exactly what we did a lot last season. It's obviously not too pleasing with the way we're playing in certain games at the moment, but the more we pick up points here and there, the more it'll fall into place. Derby will be a tough game however, and we really need to step it up for them.
Bilbo Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Just got back from the match. If we play like that against Derby we are going to get battered.
Bert Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Can I say though - I LOVE SVEN - when the chips are down he throws on all the strikers in the world! AWESOME! He gets the foxes never die slogan! Not really. Maybe if he'd have started 4-4-2 we wouldn't have had to rescue ourselves a point. We weren't good tonight, but these are shit. After a great performance on Saturday, we should be looking to continue from where we left off. Everything just seemed a bit negative today. Didn't really help most of the players couldn't tell their heads from their arses. We'll get turned over if we're this poor on Saturday. Oh yeah, Mark Yeates always scores past us. Twat.
Fosse Boy Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Totally agree. I think his confidence is very low. Hopefully he snaps out of it asap as I think he is real quality I think he will come good again, but he needs his manager's full backing and the fans to be patient with him (fat chance). Really desperate for him to get over this blip and do well because he seems such a genuinely consummate professional, which is rare in this day and age and also for someone so young.
MrSpaM Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Just got back from the game First half hour we dominated, and should have gone at least two up, Gallys free kick was awesome, but after the half hour we were plagued by awful passing. Ultimatly paid the price with their first goal, our defence was nowhere to be seen. Hats off for their second, cracking strike. Last 15 we started playing like a unit again. We got very lucky with that hand ball decision IMO, i couldnt tell if it was or wasnt from where i was sitting, spose the ref had a better view than anybody though. Pretty much all our back four had shockers compared to how we've seen them play before, couldnt string two passes together, and wernt winning anything in the air, and some of the passing about in our own half got very frustrating to watch. Also Waghorn looks a shade of his former self, dont know if he just wasnt getting the right balls or what but he looked completely lost the whole time he was on the pitch. Dyer injected some much needed pace, we need to start Howard against Derby, no question. Yuki also had a decent game until he was subbed. Happy with the point in the end, but were going to have to step it up against Derby or we could be in for a thrashing, Sheff utd were a very average side who we should be beating comfortably really.
Ashley Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Anyone else blush then when Sven said "it was tight" You filthy animal
StanSP Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 I'm looking forward to playing Derby on Saturday. I think we seem to play better if we're not the favourites (with Derby's form at the moment, they are the faves) and with the pressure on us less, we can play a bit more freely. Plus, I have full trust and faith in Sven to come up with the tactical goods!
LCFCkid Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 did mark yeates swear at our fans after his second goal?!
Bert Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 did mark yeates swear at our fans after his second goal?! Nah, I don't think so. Just waved his arms or something.
Legend_in_blue Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Well, not great but at least we got something from the game. Felt they did well to close us down, ala QPR. We need to find a way past teams that stop us playing football. We got lucky tonight. Still not convinced we can win convincingly against teams set up to stop us playing with our current setup. Doesn't help.
MrSpaM Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 did mark yeates swear at our fans after his second goal?! He ran over and celebrated infront of them pretty much
Ozwin Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 The dreaded no midfield has made a return. People shouting at the defenders like it's their fault they're passing it around the back but if the midfield are just standing there, not moving, what else can they do? Sven really needs to bring in a couple of seasoned midfielders in January.
Matt Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Disappointed but at the same time not. We were lucky to get the draw in the end although we should have won the game, If that makes any sense. Their first shouldn't have been a throw in but our defence should have closed them down alot better. I was saying win tonight and i'd take a draw Saturday, looks like we'll have to do it the other way round then....
philce Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 did mark yeates swear at our fans after his second goal?! No just acted like a total C**T in front of L1. Sven needs to tell Waghorn/Fryatt etc to play more like him, wanted it much more and took his chances. We see so easy to shut down and we have no plan B, when will we ever learn?? Sat? Well either we nick it 1-0 or we get embarrassed! I can hear Savage now.......
Lillehamring Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Cant see us signing Naughton. Davies very slim chance. Best we can hope for is loan for rest of season i reckon Have faith in Sven though and his knowledge in the transfer market true, a lot pf people seem to be getting nervous about the loan situation in our back 4 - perhaps they are the best loans we can get, yet the defenders we will (inevitably) buy, might be even better...
hackneyfox Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Fryatt was on for 16 minutes? It sounded as if he touched it twice. Did he pull any defenders or was he anonymous?
Kent Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 I thought the game was a mixed bag. Up until their first goal I thought we were comfortably in control and at times played some great football. After that point it all went to pot until the last 10 minutes when we started to get possession and then got a lucky pen (whether it was a valid penalty or not, it was still lucky). After the last minute goal the draw felt like a win, but the 60 or 70 minutes of poor play worries me.
