Leicester

The Foxes go into the game at Ashton Gate on the back of a fine 2-0 win over East Midlands rivals Derby County.

The form team in the npower Championship arrived at the Walkers Stadium confident of taking all three points back to Pride Park, but the Foxes had other ideas.

After Darius Vassell had his first goal for the Foxes ruled out for being offside, Richie Wellens played in a superb through ball to Andy King, who slotted a great finish past Frank Fielding.

The Rams had a short period of dominance towards to end of the first half, but it was all City after that. The win was secured when Kyle Naughton was fouled in the box by Kris Commons.

Former Ram, Steve Howard, was on hand to fire the penalty into the back of the net, to spark celebrations amongst the watching Blue Army.

A win for the Foxes could see them jump up to ninth place in the npower Championship, which would see them sit just one point off the play-off spots.

Bristol City

High pre-season expectations have fallen flat at Ashton Gate, as Bristol City currently sit in the relegation zone.

Like the Foxes, the Robins have had a change in manager, Steve Coppell resigned from his position just two games into the season.

Since Coppell's departure, assistant manager Keith Millen was handed the job and has won four games, drawn four and lost seven.

A hat-trick from Luciano Becchio sunk Bristol City in their last game at Elland Road. Becchio put the home side ahead after 66 minutes, but Robins striker Jon Stead levelled the game for the visitors two minutes later.

It was United, and Becchio in particular, who would go on to dominate the game, completing his hat-trick by the 83rd minute to send Bristol City back to Ashton Gate with no points.

Would expect 3 points for us today, but this is a very funny league so anything could happen, but based on current form i would think we should win comfortably.

I am v hopeful about 3 points today but it is the kind of game that could throw up a win for the home side. Lookin at our 1st eleven its the bes it has been for a v long time in my book though.

Depends on our approach. If we approach it like we did Swansea then I wouldn't expect us to beat the proverbial dustbins. If we go for it like we have done at Leeds (twice) and Barnsley then it's Bristol who should feel worried. I really see no point in looking for a draw.

We're perfectly capable of playing well away - even Vassell remarked that it's like playing at home with our following anyway - and it is the three points for winning which will maintain our momentum and turn us into serious challengers. Let's go for it Sven. And let's score some goals. :scarf:

I don't think the outcome would've been any different had we approached the game any other way.

We were well beaten by a team who were ten times fitter than us and dare I say a much better footballing side.

so everyone's in the overly optimistic, don't even acknowledge the opposition mood this week. :sweating:

OK wishful thinking perhaps, but 5-0

like the positive thinking dude....but dont forget the way it is...they allow you to build up to this level of optimism and then just when youre sure youre confident enough to make a prdeiction of this nature.............they kick you in the nuts

hope im wrong
