Queueing up for Fryatt

Would like to see him shipped on loan rather than for transferred if we get bednar in. If he gets his confidence back and bags a load of goals he can come back and maybe have another crack (or at least add a couple of 100k to his price).

If he doesn't impress, then thanks for the goals and see you later.

I think we'd be mad to let him go. None of our other strikers are hitting the net, and he is our most natural goalscorer. Even if Bednar arrives, a Bednar/Fryatt partnership sounds good to me. I just don't understand all the folk on this forum who are forever sticking the knife into him, saying he lacks pace etc. He may never burn anyone down the wing, but he's really quick off the mark over a short distance and times his runs to perfection time after time - which we've seen so often in the goals he's scored for us. Like any player though, he need the backing and encouragement of his manager, which sadly he doesn't seem to be getting at the moment. In my opinion it will be a sad day for Leicester if he goes, but maybe the best thing for him. No point hanging around if Sven doesn't rate him.

to be fair to fryatt he has done us proud in the past but i agree with hackneyfox, he looks so uninterested and like he would rather be anywhere but here, lets ship him out on loan get a few goals and some confidence hopefulyl and then come and get us some goals or we seel him on in jan and look to the future under svennis guidance :scarf:

but please not derby or tree huggers !!!!!

He scored 7 goals very early one and then got sussed.

His attitude is what upsets me.

Still young enough to be a success somewhere else but if he isn't numero uno with both management and fans he'll sulk, or give the appearance of it, as he's done with us.

I repeat this again and again on this forum.

I got interviewed by RL before the Preston Home game last season. John Sinclair asked me, 'Are you worried that its only Matty Fryatt scoring goals.'

He needs a good run in the squad. Whats up with his attitude, he's never came out and publicly sulked. If you were getting wank service upfront, you'd have something to moan about!

Your clueless mate, you seem to hate the bloke almost as much as I hated Yuki Abe. Give the guy a chance, and your opinion will change.

no he doesn't sulks in the press he sulks ON THE PITCH, his attitude when he's played since Sven has come in has been terrible he cl;;early doesn't want to be here, Swansea away was the last straw for me, 1st time I'd seen all the City fans there turn on him, due to lack of effort and bottling challenges.

He's overrated due to 1 and a half good seasons at the club.

Fryatt is a lower half Championship striker at best we won't progress with the likes of him

I dont see peoples problems with Fryatt? He scored 11/12 goals last season then got injured if he hadnt he'd of scored 20+ goals easily.

probably the same people who think howard deserves to be the first name on the team sheet....

The mind boggles at the fact that people on here seriously think this guy has premiership pedigree.

Still.

Even now.

He's mediocre at this level. No more, no less.

We're slowly but surely replacing mediocre and looking at bringing better in. If Fryatt is part of the shipping out process, then clearly Sven does not rate him. Why it is that people can't see past that goal ratio over that period of 12 games? It's as though that proves alone that he is good enough to go and do the same in the Premiership.

Load of rubbish.

would it be wrong for me to question the logic of loaning him to a championship team?

especially to Derby or Forest - two teams who will be in competition with us for a play off place...

:unsure::blink: <_< :whistle::giggle:

On reflection, loaning him to Forest or Derby sounds a cracking idea...

That was last season and then he got sussed.

Bert seems to know everything that goes on, he has him down as sulking.

I don't hate anyone in our team (they aren't that important), I will be glad o see him go though, as it would seem is Sven.

And I don't have Sven down as clueless.

If Fryatt goes on loan and starts scoring again, and looking like a team player, then I hope Sven gets him back.

Fryatt has the potential to be a premier league player, but needs a run with a manager who believes in him enough to give him the starts he needs to get match sharp again.

Potential? People talked about his "potential" when he joined us but I honestly cannot see one area of his game that he seems to have improved while he's been here.Unless I've watched the wrong games.

a) Jumping. The one place a cross is safe is when it's flying across our opponent's penalty area. They should be accompanied by a sound recording - "Is anyone there?"

How many headers has Fryatt scored since he's been here? You won't need anything the size of a postcard!.

b) Vision. In footballing terms the lad should have gone to Specsavers. We could have the Bow Street Runners out there and if Matty noticed any of them that's no guarantee he'd give them a pass. I'm not saying he's greedy but if Oliver Twist was in the City team the kid would probably starve.

c) Shooting. He's what I call a pea shooter. From 18 yards he's extremely dangerous but outside the box he rarely fires a bullet and he'll never be a fairground shooter either - popping the cork from three yards - cos he not quite sharp enough off the mark.

I honestly thought he might improve one or two of those aspects - or perhaps become more two footed - but, apart from short spells, I can't see that it's happened. Not that I can recall any of our other forwards improving notably over recent seasons either, apart from King in various ways, and perhaps Dyer for his consistency.

Gradel was utterly wasted in our first team and every other winger we had seemed to have seemed to splutter then fade like damp fireworks to the point where we used central midfielders on the flanks. As for the central strikers, they too have been generally disappointing and Fryatt's been no different for far too much of the time.

I'd ask again. Do we even have a forwards coach? Corners, free-kicks, movement, sharpness into the box, shooting techniques and consistency, cross-overs and decoys, there is so much to work on and it always seems to be next week.

But please convince me

Fryatt and Lambert up front was the partnership I wanted when we went up from League 1. If he goes to Southampton, I'd fancy them to score a lot.

Wouldnt be fussed if he goes though, not done anything for us this season, and just cant fit into our team at the moment.

Wonder how much we value him at.

I can;t work out why Forest, Swansea, Derby or leeds would want Fryatt with the form he's in atm?

i was actually suprised when he scored 2 goals in one game recently. didnt think he is still able to do such well

After Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers made ambitious loan bids for Premier League trio Eidur Gudjohnsen, Carlos Vela and Daniel Sturridge, he has now turned his attention to former Saddler Matty Fryatt.
