Mack Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Pearson moved on because the new owners wanted a name, but we all know he could have done a job. Now they are shunting on quality players because they dont know who they are rather than they are not up to the job. It's their club and their choice but this is the expensive way! Hope they have deep pockets.

Daggers Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 I hope we'll be able to recall him for the playoffs.
Simmo86 Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Throwing the cash about. Had bids rejected for Charlie Austin and CMS, got permission to speak to Aaron Mclean and apparantly wanting Fryatt! Maybe after just surviving financial meltdown its not the greatest idea to be throwing cash about willy nilly!
Thracian Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Fryatt has the potential to be a premier league player, but needs a run with a manager who believes in him enough to give him the starts he needs to get match sharp again. Looking at the recent rumours coming from our camp a move is probably required to get those games. Good luck to him. Premier League player? Are you serious? I suppose all sorts of players can be lucky enough to get a game or two at that level but you must have watched different games to me. Fryatt's a natural enough goalscorer up to modest Championship level but I've never once seen him look like Premiership quality. I hope you're proved right but would love to know what it is about his game that's formed your opinion.

I wonder whether its just us or do other clubs have miserably sulky forwards, Campbell, Fryatt etc. They should take out of the Berner book who's attitude and professionalism has reminded me of one Pontus Kaamark with his comments this week.
ajthefox Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 I think he can be one of the best finishers in this division, but premiership quality is pushing it too far. He doesn't have the physical attributes to compete on a level with most prem defenders.
Scow Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Fryatt can't play as a lone striker, and even if we do opt for two up top, Sven is looking for pace. He can do a job in the Championship, but he doesn't fit into our current set-up.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Doesnt say too much about Fryatt if he did go to Hull, would hardly be a step up. Sort of shows he isnt any better than where he currently is. I'd take £2 million for him I think. Always said that I would want more, but rather get something like that than just have him sitting on the bench.
dannythefox Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Doesn't seem that interested when he comes on, certainly missing his long lost dad (NP) so get rid. I would still want 1.5 mil for him though, I don't think we can afford to let people leave for peanuts. 1.5 Million are you mad? He might have gone for that when he was doing well but no way will he sell for that we might get 1 if were lucky.

Maybe your right but look at all the players who we have said are not up to it that prosper as soon as they leave Leicester, DJ Campbell doing the business in the premier league. Gradel look to be a great player and we rejected Varney and look at him now awesome. Most players do well when they leave and also managers just look at Holloway. We are a graveyard for players and managers its almost like come to Leicester and we will curse you to play crap.
ajthefox Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Players get unhappy at a club, show no form then move to a new club and play with a new lease of life and bang in the goals, it's hardly rocket science. So whilst those examples are true, your condemning of the club as a graveyard is rubbish.

It might not be a step up, but he'd be with a manager he likes and seems to enjoy playing for. It's an understandable move for both parties.
Legend_in_blue Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Flat footed and no pace. Qualities not found in the Premiership. He ticks all the other boxes though. If we get a seven figure sum, fantastic. Don't think this will happen though.
doveston Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Well that's that then I'm guessing, I'd be amazed if he didn't leave now. Good job Hull s on the 1st too, a week later and you can be certain he'd bag the winner. i think you'll find a deal can be agreed now and he will be available to play on the 1st
Salieri Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Fryatt's such a frustrating player, can be class when fit and happy and definitely good enough at this level. As for the Premier League, just don't think he'd cut it so if that's where we're aiming for then selling him for a decent wedge of around a million wouldn't be a bad bit of business. Always had high hopes for the lad, but you can't talk about 'potential' forever. If he had a yard or two of extra pace and a bit more awareness then he could be quality, but i just can't see him improving a hell of a lot as a player in the future.
Simmo86 Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 i think you'll find a deal can be agreed now and he will be available to play on the 1st we're not even that stupid, no chance he'll play against us on the 1st
chili_con_carne Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Dont forget walsall get a sizeable percentage of the sale. Think its 25%
Thracian Posted 23 December 2010 Posted 23 December 2010 Thought he actually looked more interested than most to be honest. Doesn't excuse the incompetence of the passes but he tried to get on the ball, which is more than can be said for plenty of those who started the game. Being fair to the guy he did have a decent shot across goal which passed just wide of the left post. Davies disallowed goal apart, I think it was the only decent goal attempt we had. Fryatt will have a new lease of life when he moves but I just don't see any signs of him improving the weaknesses in his game enough to be what we really need. That said, as yet there are no signs that we'll actually get what we need even when he's gone...a fast, strong, ruthless centre-forward who can see the game as well as score some goals.

We are a graveyard for players and managers its almost like come to Leicester and we will curse you to play crap. How exactly is DJ Campbell "doing the business" in the Premier League? He's scored one decent goal and a couple of tap-ins and has missed a hat full. And predictably, top flight defences look no way near as bothered by his "fast, mazy running" as teams in this division. If they'd stopped being sentimental they probably could have done much better business by looking elsewhere.

So whilst those examples are true, your condemning of the club as a graveyard is rubbish. Actually can't remember the last time we bought a player who's made an immediate impact on our team, this is what were missing IMO. All the players we get in seem to just be slightly better than we had before. We need to sign a game changer, unfortunatly their next to impossible to discover until their playing reguarly for your side. Not like the strikers we've got in are "banging the goals in" is it. I honestly can't see Fryatt suddenly getting his touch back just because he's playing for Pearson again. Since he got injured last season he's a shade of what he used to be ability wise.
Stopper Posted 23 December 2010 Posted 23 December 2010 Sky Sports website reporting that a fee for Matty Fryatt has been agreed with Hull, with permission given for talks to begin !
