Fox 4 Life Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 would be pissed off if he went to Swansea or Reading, did we not learn from last year with DJ. Both those sides are crying out for a poacher, the Swans would be scary with an on form Matty.
Daggers Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Fryatt has the potential to be a premier league player... Sorry, but
carterfox90 Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 d) Pace. He hasn't got the pace to trouble the slowest of centre halves over any sort of distance. e) one on ones with the keeper you just know he wont score must get 1 in 20

If they pay good money for him in Januray then I wont mind, but if we simply loan him out, like you I will be annoyed.

Jimmy Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 if Swansea want him they can swap him for Nathan Dyer

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Yeah he played against them for Walsall in League 1 and ripped them to pieces. Aloso played against them in the 5-1 defeat and was subbed off before HT as he was shit. Looked like he had spent the morning in the nearby McDonalds.
The Padster Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Yeah he played against them for Walsall in League 1 and ripped them to pieces. I'm starting to see a trend here.
RedHux Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Wasn't he subbed after about 15mins? Was a weird one that as he was the top scorer at the time (I think) and whoever you brought on also did nothing that day. ...and Walsall always tear us a new one. Not sure why, but it seems to be the law.

But thats a different story!

Didn't work but Fryatt would've done no better.
Jimmy Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 he wasn't exactly busting a gut to make something happen either.

It would have been better if Howard was up against Morgan, the best combination we have is Fryatt and Howard! and what the hell will it be against forest this time 4-3-3 with Howard Bednar and Vassell?
Jimmy Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Fryatt Howard only ever worked in League 1, last season when ever Howard played well it was alongside Waghorn
MPH Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 If premier league player people mean a season fighting relegation with the likes of blackpool, then I agree with them.. If luke varney can manage it.. But that's fryatts limit. In all honesty blackpool would be fryatts best option. It really could backfire sending him to the wrong team in the championship...

Holloway didn't give him a regular run when he relegated us
Ric Flair Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 This is how I see it. Matty Fryatt is a very temperamental player, if he's not got the right conditions and isn't 'worshipped' by his manager then he fails to fulfill his ability. When those conditions are in place he's very good as a lower league player and he's shown that he can do that at this level also. If Fryatt leaves, it will be the end of an era for him, he's been here for 5 years and it's hard to say whether he's improved or not. But I have no doubt that he'll score goals at this level again, and like DJ Campbell you know it'll be without us. Our fans will then constantly bombard the messageboards and the phone-in's moaning that he should be bought back etc. However, at least with DJ he'd never done it at Leicester so as a sensible fan like myself and others on here, you could argue the case. Fryatt has proven himself with us though and letting him go for anything longer than a short term loan would be a huge gamble. Sven hasn't given him a run in the team yet, but I trust him to study Fryatt and decide whether he's got a future here. I just know that this boy will hit the goal trail if he's given first team football elsewhere, it's about confidence and mindset with Fryatt. I also acknowledge that he's been here for quite some time and it would be nice for us to have a player stay with us for many seasons and become a legend. It would be hard to class him as that, but there's been glimses of him being able to do that and it's a shame. I'll be the first to look out for the results and goal scorers of whatever team he next goes to though as he'll be only there more often than not.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Flair's pretty much summed it up. Look through some of his goals from last season and the one before, so many he sets himself up for just through brilliant touches and creating angles and space for himself. He's a quality finisher when on form and full of confidence. Detractors can moan about him not being proven at this level as much as they like but he wasn't useless in front of goal before Donny Rovers at home last season, actually, anything but. Farming him out on loan (either to a Championship or League One club), and trying to boost what seems like shattered confidence could be the perfect remedy at this point. I don't catch City games half as much as most on here, but when he was netting left, right and centre, it showed on the pitch. He wanted the ball and got involved as much as possible, despite his reputation as a bit of a lazy, luxury player. Reading the match reports on here now after brief cameos and it seems he barely gets a touch and looks disinterested. I'm not a Fryatt fan boy by any means, I don't get the 'du-du-du-du' nonsense, but it's clear there's something about him, more so than the other strikers at City. Just before Crimbo 2008 I remember practically everyone shitting themselves that he'd bugger off and wouldn't sign a contract extension, I doubt there'd have been a shortage of admirers at the time. He stayed, showed some loyalty, and now the majority want rid. Cracking.

He's a quality finisher when on form and full of confidence. Noticed this when I was watching all our goals from last season on youtube. Only saw a couple of games live so could never really be sure as to our quality. Must say I was impressed by the quality of most of his goals. Just at loss to understand his failure to regain form after injury. A loan is surely our best option right now.
Mikey Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Fryatt's awesome, why would he dream of leaving
MikeyT Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Not that Stringer is an oracle or anything but just seen this on his Twitter: Frantic texting ahead of loan deadline tomorrow. Reckon Kirkland in, maybe 1 other but Fryatt to go, with Forest interested I hear. Not Hull
Edmund Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Fryatt will become DJ Mk 2. Sadly I can see him doing well at Forest. The football they play will definitely suit his game.
