MikeyT Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 New one from his Twitter: Forest + 6 others interested in Fryatt. IF Matt goes (and I hope not) HE wants permanent move, #LCFC not keen on that. Can't blame him
Blue Andy Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Fryatt for lambert please I'd definately swap Fryatt For Lambert.. It surprised me that Nigel Pearson never signed him last summer...
Guest shearfox Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 I don't see the big deal over Lambert his much older than Fryatt and unproven at champ level. Fryatt is the much better player IMO. I'm quite disappointed we are going to loan Fryatt to one of our rivals when on form he can be very deadly.
Jakemoore Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 I don't know if this has already been said (it probably has, it's fairly obvious) if Fryatt is off then I think he should be sent to Southhampton or we could risk seeing another DJ Campbell type situation; where we send him out on loan and he takes that team above us in the league by scoring a sh*t load of goals.
deep blue Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Ric Flair - great post, and it's set off a series of more considered posts on Fryatt. I was despairing of all the extreme negative comments. I'm convinced Matty will score loads in this league, and hope that it's (if only eventually) with us. There seems a problem at the moment in Sven having the confidence in him, and being able to accommodate him in the current formation/style. He might even be able to form a good partnership with Bednar, given the chance, but doesn't look like that's going to happen.
Babylon Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Maybe it was him who put in a transfer request, and it's not been retracted since then. Would force our hand some what. I'm not a massive fan, mainly because he frustrates me so much the fact he can be brilliant one game and crap for 10. Luke Ric said it's nailed on he'll go and score goals.
Karljohn Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 I'd definately swap Fryatt For Lambert.. It surprised me that Nigel Pearson never signed him last summer... Work with a saints fan and he said Lambert has done nothing this season for them, lazy and uninterested, ring any bells?
Bert Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 He certainly put in a transfer request. Look at it this way, if he doesn't want to be here, then we shouldn't want him here. I only want players who want to play for our club. Hopefully, we're gonna be moving on to bigger and better things. No-one's bigger than the club. His attitude over the past few weeks has been nothing short of shit.
breadandcheese Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 There is no doubt that fryatt is a good championship striker. He will score goals. Yes, people can point out that he's not blessed with lightening pace and usually misses the first chance before burying the second, but that's the reason he's playing with us and not in the premier league. I guess the trouble we have now is tactical in that we're lining up with a striker upfront by himself. Matty needs a strike partner to get the best out of him so if we're not going to play 4-4-2 it's probably best for both parties to move on.
Ric Flair Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 It's no coincidence that 6 championship clubs all want him. We're a bit silly to let him leave before Sven has given him a decent run in the side.

We're a bit silly to let him leave before Sven has given him a decent run in the side. Bert explained the reasons behind the move above. If's he's unhappy and doesn't want to play for us anymore then let him go. Don't you think if Sven wanted him, he would've given him a run in the side by now? Explains why he wants out, aka Sven doesn't rate him that highly.
J.Lisemore Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Never been a big fan of Fryatt, even when he was scoring, although I appreciate what hes done for us, we wouldn't be anywhere without his goals.
STUHILL Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 This is simple to me. If he wants to leave permanently which is what people in the know have been saying, then let him go. Fryatt will always have people divided but at the end of the day, we are a club on the up with new investment and Sven in and we don't have time to wait for a player to find confidence and form. He may go else where and do well or he may not. All I care about is how Leicester do and players who don't want to be here any more should be a allowed to leave. I think judging by how highly rated he still is by these 6 clubs, we could make a handsome some of money on him too in January
Kitchandro Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 I'm not saying Bednar isn't better but the fact is Fryatt is a good Championship Striker (just because he played in League 1 for 1 season does not mean that's his level - I'm fed up with that bullshit line) and he hasn't been given enough of a chance this season. He's barely been picked and even less so with a strike partner. He still has 4 goals from 6 starts though. He probably will go, he probably doesn't fit into our current system and he might not want to be here any longer, but frankly I don't blame him when half of our fans will never accept him no matter how many goals he scores and most of the managers rate that twat DJ higher than him. I wouldn't stay if I was him, I'd be fooking fed up with the lot of it and I'd be straight off to Hull.

I wouldn't stay if I was him, I'd be fooking fed up with the lot of it and I'd be straight off to Hull. He may go to Hull or another Championship club and do well but equally he may not do so well and just like at any other club, including ours, if Strikers don't perform consistently, then they will be dropped and have to fight their way back in to the team, something I don't think Fryatt is too arsed about at the moment and hasn't been since handing in a transfer request when Sousa was in charge. I rate Fryatt, I even have his name on the back of my shirt but he is a frustrating player and I don't buy in to the whole he hasn't had his chances this season. Even if he gets given 10-15 minutes from the bench, I want to see at very least a player willing to run their socks off and demand the ball, wanting to make an instant impact. I don't see any of that from Fryatt at the moment which is very disappointing. I admit that all of our strikers are under performing but he is the only one I don't see 100% commitment from. Steve Howard for all his limitations, will run himself ragged all day and challenge for every header possible. Waghorn who is way off form at the moment still gets my respect from me as he runs his socks off for 90+ minutes. The most important point to all of this though is Fryatt wants out!! Simple as. He doesn't want to play for Leicester City any more and so it is probably best to part company and lets all move on. Bednar is an exciting replacement
ajthefox Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 This is how I see it. Matty Fryatt is a very temperamental player, if he's not got the right conditions and isn't 'worshipped' by his manager then he fails to fulfill his ability. When those conditions are in place he's very good as a lower league player and he's shown that he can do that at this level also. If Fryatt leaves, it will be the end of an era for him, he's been here for 5 years and it's hard to say whether he's improved or not. But I have no doubt that he'll score goals at this level again, and like DJ Campbell you know it'll be without us. Our fans will then constantly bombard the messageboards and the phone-in's moaning that he should be bought back etc. However, at least with DJ he'd never done it at Leicester so as a sensible fan like myself and others on here, you could argue the case. Fryatt has proven himself with us though and letting him go for anything longer than a short term loan would be a huge gamble. Sven hasn't given him a run in the team yet, but I trust him to study Fryatt and decide whether he's got a future here. I just know that this boy will hit the goal trail if he's given first team football elsewhere, it's about confidence and mindset with Fryatt. I also acknowledge that he's been here for quite some time and it would be nice for us to have a player stay with us for many seasons and become a legend. It would be hard to class him as that, but there's been glimses of him being able to do that and it's a shame. I'll be the first to look out for the results and goal scorers of whatever team he next goes to though as he'll be only there more often than not. Spot on, +1 mate. He has the ability to score goals at this level, -not prem quality though- if all is well but sadly he hasn't shown any cosistency. I don't want him to go and I tihnk it would haunt us, but I understand why he might no be wanted and to be fair if he want's to go then he can go for all I care, as was the case with Campbell I don't want someone playing for us who doesn't care. Speaking of Campbell, the DJ chanting in the first couple of games from some in the Kop was an absolute joke, never seen such fickle bollocks. Sort of makes me laugh cause I'll bet half those saying fryatt was shit last season were doing his chant week in week out 12 months ago.

Stevosevic Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Forest set to sign Tudgay, would they need two more strikers?
RedHux Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Forest set to sign Tudgay, would they need two more strikers? We need all the strikers we can get! Earnie's just back from injury and looking fragile, Tyson has glass hamstrings and is ill anyway, Dex is broken, Garner's on loan and can't get a game anyway, and that leaves big Dele and young Niall Rodney. The upside of this is we can have Del and Rodney upfront However, I'd prefer Fryatt to Tudgay.
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Fryatt is staying according to Stringers tweet
Babylon Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Fryatt is staying according to Stringers tweet Until he's flogged in Jan as he wants a permanent move.
stivesfox Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Shame I was hoping we would be rid of the little brat!!!! Never mind Chris Powell might need him for the reserve team!!
Leicester_Loyal Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Good. Rather him stay than be loaned out to another championship club. Hopefully he'll be able to get a few goals.
