Abe 9?!

Anyway...

Weale 5 - Made an excellent double save near the end just before we conceded. The second goal was a massive **** up (not just on his part).

Naughton 7 - Good going forward, unconvincing defensively

Hobbs 5 - Made some excellent interceptions and clearances in the second half. First half he was turd.

Davies 5 - Covered a lot of ground. But him and Hobbs were like some sort of comedy double act. Except I wasn't laughing.

Cunningham 7.5 - Dead dozy at the end but I thought he was pretty good throughout. Solid in defence and good going forward.

Abe 6.5 - His touch is class. Nobody is disputing that. And he worked really hard. But his passing was poor today.

King 4.5 - Non-existent. Clever pass to Gallagher when he could have shot for one wasted opportunity.

Wellens 8 - Here, there and everywhere. So much better further up the pitch.

Vassell 6 - Rarely takes up good positions, or make the most of his pace. His constant tendency to turn inside after skinning his man is infuriating. But boy does he work hard.

Bednar 4 - We have 3 better strikers than Roman Bednar, that much is clear. His first touch was awful again, and he missed an absolute sitter in the first half. Unlucky with a header in the second.

Gallagher 5.5 - Totally shit, other than his 2 goals (yes, I know that sounds retarded). Lost the ball almost every time he got it. But played one glorious 50 yard pass to Vassell and scored 2 goals, so what can you say?

I genuinely can't believe some of the ratings people are giving out above; you'd think we'd won 4-0, not played shit for 45 minutes and average in the second half. We defended like goons and had no cutting edge up front.

Weale 5 - two super saves just before Watford's third, but a horrible air shot for the second goal

Naughton 4 - way too casual for most of the game, and some very sloppy marking on many occasions. I think he can and should be playing much, much better than that

Cunningham 6 - a steady performance

Davis 5 - outjumped by Taylor early doors, which almost set the tone. A manic performance

Hobbs 5 - sadly Jack's confidence is wafer thin, and today he looked limited

Yuki 7 - a good performance, but shooting clearly not a strong point

Wellens 6 - tidy, and some decent passes at times

King 6 - some great runs into the box, and I was surprised he was subbed, unless he was injured?

Gallager 5 - Ok he scored two goals, but he was symptomatic of our dozy first half performance. I'm like many on here in finding him immensely frustrating, and I think it is now time for Lloyd to have a run in the team

Vassel 5 - Isn't offering enough yet. Is it just lack of confidence, as I'm sure if he ran at defenders he would scare them witless

Bednar 5 - Nothing yet to excite me frankly

All three subs, did little to impress me. Oakley lacked ambition, Howard was in one of those moaning moods, and Waggers seems devoid of confidence

Fans - superb. Outsung Watford comfortably from my vantage point in a box. Deserved more from their team. That first 45 minutes was a disgrace. The team simply didn't look bothered, which I find extraordinary. I didn't feel it was too clever that only 4 or 5 of them clapped the travelling fans at the end too. They deserved much, much better. They created the support so monotonously requested in interviews on the website, even when we were 2-0 down.

We looked so strong at home to Derby and Forest, but not today. Frankly I think we deserved to lose, and can have few complaints. I'd bring in Lloyd for Gally despite his brace, and although he has done little to impress this season, I at least would like Fryatt on the bench. Given each of our current strikers, who could you predict would score most goals given a run of 10 games in the team. I'd choose Fryatt still.

Had a picture taken with Top at the end. He was disappointed, but I thanked him for his support, and bought 200 Silk Cut, some perfume for the wife and a bumper bag of Haribo from him.....

Weale 5 - doesn't look very confident, and made a few errors today.

Naughton 6 - won the penalty, and looks good going forward. Not so great at the back.

Cunningham 6 - tried to get forward as much as he could and did ok defending.

Davies 5 - looked very shaky today.

Hobbs 5 - see davies.

Abe 8 - our best player. Here, there and everywhere.

Wellens 6 - a bit hit and miss today, looking in a need of a rest.

King 6 - very quiet, Just couldn't get going.

Gallagher 6 - two goals yes. Nothing else.

Vassell 5 - has anyone lost a headless chicken they'd prepared for sunday lunch tomorrow? Last seen at vicarage road.

Bednar 5 - didn't do much, although i'm sure his header crossed the line.

Howard 5 - moaned like a baby, taylor had him in his pocket.

Oakley 5 - faffed about a bit that could've caused danger. Didn't do anything else.

Waghorn 5 - ineffective. Needs longer on the pitch.

Weale 6- Made a smart double save towards the end of the match but made some costly errors.

naughton 6- got forward welld worked well with vassell, pretty bad defensively though.

Davies 6- Won most headers but did nothing special today.

Hobbs 7- As above, but made some very crucial tackles.

Cunningham 6- Like Naughton got forward well but got caught on the break a few times. Also needs to wake up a bit.

Abe 7- Was everywhere again, got stuck in, had another good game and looked like one of our best men. Could of had a goal but it wasn't to be.

King 6- Didn't do much for the time he was on.

Wellens 7- Like Abe, got stuck in and played some good balls.

Vassell 6- Had a pretty good game but didnt deliever much and lost the ball sometimes when he could of shot.

Bednar 5- Didn't do anything special, also i dont care if he was offside on that one attempt he still missed the target from about 3 yards out.

Gallagher 6- gave him +1 for the two goals but thought generally was one of our worst performers on the day. lost the ball to many times and tried to much hollywood stuff, only positive thing was that amazing ball from 50 yards to vassell and his two goals.

Also i don't understand the substitutions made today, we needed goals and we bring on Oakley and not Dyer? :dunno:

Fans 10- We were absolutely fantastic today and easily outsung the watford supporters.

From the main (only) stand.

Weale 5. Despite making several very decent saves in the second half he was at fault for both first half goals, he was slow getting down to Eustace's shot and a missed clearance let in Graham for the second, not good.

Naughton 5. Fairly poor by his standards, largely missing first half, better but although not at his best second half, he did get forward and his cross earned us a penalty. In the latter stages he did not do enough defensively, left us undermanned at times.

Davies 5. Seems to be playing more for himself than the team, looks great when everything is going well but a bit over casual when things go against us. Dissappointing.

Hobbs 5. A really up and down game for him, cocked up big time for the second goal yet saved a certain goal and played pretty well second half. If he gets through this season he will be a very good player, what doesn't kill you…..

Cunningham 6. Probably our best defender on the day, got forward well, particularly second half and although two of the goals came from his side, on both occasions he was inside defending the corner.

Abe 6. Tons of effort and commitment but sometimes I feel the results do not reflect the work he puts in, too few of his passes found team mates in good positions. Personally I feel he needs to play a more controlled game, covering the back 4 rather than trying to hustle all over the pitch.

King 5. Ineffective for much of the time, closely marked and only really came into the game for a brief spell in the second half. His early substitution suggests to me that he is not quite fully fit.

Wellens 6. Heavily involved but one of those games where, despite that, he manages to achieve very little. Very much the sort of performance that was the norm earlier in the season, easy to see why some really do not rate him.

Vassell 5. Still seems only able to play in spurts, getting better but his fitness is still a big issue. Looks better when he cuts inside and attacks the box but as usual that did not happen enough. continues to disappoint.

Bednar 5. Looked cumbersome today, worked hard to try and lead the line but was largely ineffective. Simply does not look sharp, needs to improve a lot to be worth a contract in my view.

Gallagher 5. Scored twice but missed several and was otherwise ineffective. Does not have the instincts for a striker, 2 good chances today and he had no idea what to do with them. He might be useful from around the edge of the penalty area but he is embarrassing in and around the 6 yard box.

Howard 4. Apart from geeing up our support and pissing off the ref, he achieved nothing of note.

Oakley 5. Not too bad, sat and shielded the back 4 to begin with but eventually got caught up in our determination to get the winner and was out of position when Watford countered and won a corner.

Waghorn. Not really on long enough to have an effect on the game.

The ratings show that this was a pretty poor day all round, even in the 30+ minutes in the second half when we totally dominated, no one really stood out. This was not a good performance, nowhere near as good as, say against Bristol, where we played quite well but still lost.

Weale - 5 - Poor. Cost us the 2nd goal with his missed kick. His indecision often led to chaos in the backline. A shadow of his former self last season.

Naughton - 6 - Decent going forward, but part of a back line that was caused lots of problems by a simple long ball tactic from Watford

Hobbs - 5.5 - Struggled with Danny Graham, some good challenges but didn't look comfortable at all today

Davies - 6 - Again struggled with the wet pitch and Watford's aim to keep turning the Leicester defence with people running off Graham. Not individually his fault, but part of the back line which couldn't cope with Watford.

Cunningham - 5.5 - Never got going today at all. Nothing majorly bad to note, but just struggled with Watford's approach.

Wellens - 7.5 - The only player constantly trying to create things for Leicester going forward. Worked extremely hard but didn't get the support from his team mates on most occasions.

Abe - 6.5 - Worked hard, and did his usual breaking up of play, but never made a massive contribution to the game.

King - 5 - Missing today. They had done there homework and had a plan to stop him. Never got a sniff all game.

Gallacher - 6.5 - Was poor for most of the game despite his 2 goals. Missed a glorius chance from 6 yards, and took too many touches on another decent chance. Didn't offer enough.

Bednar - 5.5 - Poor from Bednar. Never made an impact on the game, and was often too easily marked or disposed by a weak Watford back-line.

Vassell - 4 - Absolute joke, no defensive effort at all. No movement, and when he did get the ball and attack with it, he often looked clueless. The fans were chatting for Lloyd Dyer from the 20th minute, and it was because of Vassell's lack of effort. He has no excuse now he has gained some match fitness and sharpness, and I would be suprised if he starts the next game.

Subs

Howard - 6 - Had more effect on the game than Bednar, but didn't do anything of note. Although he does give the team a real boost when he's on the pitch.

Oakley - 5 - Never got involved at all. Looked off the pace.

Waghorn - 6 - Never got a chance to make an impact

Weale was back to his normal again poor, I knew that after the forest game he'd fook up today and every time the ball was passed back to him their was an expectation that he'd give the ball away.

Hobbs couple of good tackles but poor, Vitor has to play.

Vassel found space for himself every time it came to him but isn't match fit. He can become a great player for us.

Bednar, poor but again far short of match fitness and he will become a better player than Howard but he'll never cut it in The Premier.

Howard Useless, achieved nothing apart from pissing the ref off.

Gallagher Everything move seems to involve him and he score 2 goals but .......

King was he on the pitch?

Everyone else was forgettable.

Can't have a mom after a display like that.

2 steps forward one step back.

Desperately need a new goalie, Vitor to play, bednar & Vassel to achieve match fitness sharpish and a goal scorer.

Had a chance of going up to 9th today, this was a major setback in both terms of points and performance.

And so many thought we were going to spank them today.

I love the sheer scale of variety in ratings after a defeat.

lol

Some people are clearly drunk, 7's, 8's & 9's for that game!!! Nice to see that ABE was the stand out player in nearly everyones opinion not just mine. Kingy had one of those games where he does fook all, he'll probably score a couple against Donny next week. Ohhhh Bednar has the worst touch from a pro footballer that I've ever seen :o

Posted

Weale 6- Looked shaky , made a couple of good saves, 2nd goal was half his fault should either stay on his line or take the man out and get sent it off did neither

Naughton 6- good going forward , liability defensively , positioning is shocking sometimes

Hobbs 7- first 10 mins looked like he didnt know what hit him , after that much more composed !!

Davies 6-same as Hobbs but didnt do as much as Hobbs in the 2nd half

Cunningham 6- good going foward and put some decent crosses in

Wellens 6-got stuck in , but lacked killer pass

Abe 7- does the dirty work , tackling back , puts pressure on midfielders , but does misplace passes

King 5- non existent except for a good pass to Gallagher who should of scored

Gallagher 6- doesnt run at defenders , tries to do the clever thing first instead of the simple thing resulting in losing possession

Vassell 6- ran at their defence and put some decent balls into the box but frustrating as gallagher sometimes

Bednar 3- rubbish touch , cant hold the ball up and no pace - doesnt looks match fit - give him time might be better

Subs

Howard 6- did more than bednar and held the ball up well and went looking for waghorns or gallaghers runs

Waghorn 5- didnt get into the game , looks wasted as a winger which has been said a million times before

Oakley 2- what did he do?

My diagnosis is that we are not studying the opposition as much as they are analysing us. This is impacting on our away performances. From the kick off Watford were better organised and much more attacking than we were. They had done their research. It took our first goal and then the equaliser to give us real momentum going forward. They put our defence under pressure and prevented our coordinated defensive play.

Weale 5: Some important saves in the second half but he was left stranded for their second goal when the defence, high up the pitch, failed to defend.

Naughton 5: Watford got the measure of our defence from the beginning and put them under pressure and none of the back four did as well as they can do. He missed tackles and was not at his best.

Cunningham 5: Reasonably solid in his position but did not get forward enough or link up with the rest of the defence to prevent the goals.

Davis 5: Not nearly as commanding as he has been when at his best; clearly felt under pressure.

Hobbs 5: I think he lost the tackle that allowed them to score the second goal but the whole of the back four were culpable for their three goals.

Abe 7: A good performance, tried his best to take the game to the opposition, won his tackles and made good passes but wasted his opportunities on goal.

Wellens 7: Worked very hard as usual in closing down the opposition but for him we could have lost by more goals.

King 6: A great deal of running about but has to be presented with opportunities to run onto the ball to score and none were forthcoming. Oakley coming on was a surprise, I can only think that Sven thought his experience as captain on the pitch would be a benefit. It wasn’t.

Gallager 8: Man of the match, if you can have one in a match we lost! The fact is that he scored two goals. Scoring goals, as well as not conceding them, is key. The penalty was clever, he turned his back on their keeper, whipped round and scored; the free kick was class. Yes, he is very inconsistent but if our other two forward players (Vassel and Bednar) had scored one goal each we would have had 3 points.

Vassel 5: Obviously has talent but could not impose himself on the game; hardly risked any runs into their box but their defence effectively blocked him off.

Bednar 4: A very real disappointment; not as good a target man or as able or as strong in holding the ball up as Howard and does not seem able to run at the opposition or pose much of a threat, not that Howard can do the latter now.

Oakley: I presume he came on to provide leadership but he had no impact.

Howard: Came on too late to really influence the game; good flick ons but there was no one there in the system to capitalise on them. Got on well with the ref!

Waghorn: No time to influence the game. He is not really an off the bench impact player.

I'm pretty sure i heard an interview with someone after the game (i think it was gally) who said that they knew exactly what to expect from watford and still couldn't deal with it. does anybody else remember this? I think it would be wrong to assume that lcfc are any less professional than other teams in the league and go into every game thinking they are far superior, without studying watfords past performances.

Team spirit will be key to our success this season. We clearly are building a quality squad but the belief has to be built too, players need to want to play for each other. All very well having players with a point to prove but they need to gel. Hopefully they will learn quickly from the Bristol and Watford game that a big performance is needed every week to get out of this league.

Leicester I feel is going to be one Sven's hardest tests yet in management because of the competitiveness of the league.

It's up to the like of Wellens, Kingy, Hobbs and Howard to raise morale and performance on and off the pitch!!

Come on boys you can do it!!!

Lot of people blaming the defence for letting in goals however it is not just down to the back four. Watfords first goal from the corner, who should have been marking their player. Our back 4 marked their men but which midfileder should have been marking the scorer. Same at Bristol the other week back 4 had their men covered but midfiled did not pick up the freeman.

With regard to corners we seem to be running back to front, twisting this way and that trying to make room for a cross which goes all over the place. Why cant we just attact the goal from the edge of the area.

On Saturday when Hobbs won the ball at the farpost it was headed straight to Abe on the edge of the six yard box and we all know what happened it flew well over the bar.
