davieG Posted 8 January 2011 Posted 8 January 2011 Thought the Arse should have had one earlier with the foul on Bendtner, at least Walcott tried to stay up this time.
davieG Posted 8 January 2011 Posted 8 January 2011 Ref desperate to give a pen! Probably was tho... If he was so desperate why didn't he give one just before or even the deserved one on Bendtner earlier still?
Asha Posted 8 January 2011 Posted 8 January 2011 If he was so desperate why didn't he give one just before or even the deserved one on Bendtner earlier still? The earlier one was on Walcott too, wasn't it? Just Bendtner got in the way a bit. Both peno's in my eyes though. Unlucky for Leeds but in the main Arsenal were pretty wank. Lucky to have got a replay out of that.
sdb Posted 8 January 2011 Posted 8 January 2011 If he was so desperate why didn't he give one just before or even the deserved one on Bendtner earlier still? Desperate to give one having not given the one before (because of the lino flagging for offside). I didn't think it was a pen anyway (the 1st), Walcott took a dive imo.

Babylon Posted 8 January 2011 Posted 8 January 2011 Wenger: "Schmeichel & Bruce were fantastic...maybe these two names want to make my life difficult forever!"
Edmund Posted 8 January 2011 Posted 8 January 2011 Wenger: "Schmeichel & Bruce were fantastic...maybe these two names want to make my life difficult forever!" that's brillaint. Also full credit to Walcott, not many players would come out and admit they dived. http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/4350/6/walcott-i-dived-attempt-win-penaltyWalcott: I dived in attempt to win penalty Theo Walcott has admitted diving in an attempt to rescue Arsenal from an FA Cup defeat against Leeds United. The Gunners were losing 1-0 to Leeds United in the 87th minute when Walcott was fouled by Alex Bruce, with referee Phil Dowd originally appearing to award a spot-kick before the linesman’s flag went up for offside. Speaking after the game Walcott said: “I thought [Dowd] did give the penalty to be honest. I just want to apologise to the managers, I actually dived trying to win the penalty. “I said to one of their players would you have done it if it was the last few minutes and he said he I probably would have done it. “I’m not the sort of player to do it, I own up to that and I apologise for that. It’s one of those things that I don’t like to see in my game. I’ve heard some people say if you feel just a slight touch you should go down so it can work both ways. “I’m not happy with myself for doing that but I’m happy that we got the draw in the end. [Alex Bruce] was fine about it. Whether he knew if it was a penalty I don’t know but I said sorry I’m trying to win the game. I had a little bit of a laugh and a joke with the referee afterwards saying that’s the first dive I’ve ever done can you tell?”
Corky Posted 8 January 2011 Posted 8 January 2011 Well done to all those who beat higher level clubs.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 8 January 2011 Posted 8 January 2011 The Arsenal pnealty was a penalty but it was soft, we would never have got it. E.g Wellens the other day vs Swansea, should have had one for being pulled back like what the Arsenal one was given for. Burton, Orient, Notts County with great wins today. I knew Blackpool would lose at Southampton though. York were unlucky by all accounts, 0-0 till the last ten minutes and they lost which is a shame. Hoping for an upset tomorrow!
J.Lisemore Posted 8 January 2011 Posted 8 January 2011 Suprised none of the commentators have commented on Newcastles 'amazing' support today.
Samilktray Posted 8 January 2011 Posted 8 January 2011 Toon down to ten men now aswell. Debatable. Whats debateable? Near enough snapped the lad in half.
Mee Posted 8 January 2011 Posted 8 January 2011 Whats debateable? Near enough snapped the lad in half. Agree with this. He actually left the ground and jumped into it. Horrible tackle, lucky the lad didn't break his leg or anything.
Jackirius Posted 8 January 2011 Posted 8 January 2011 Went to the Orient vs Norwich match today, great stuff. Norwich's final ball was shocking, though they should have scored in the second half at least a few times.
MikeyT Posted 8 January 2011 Posted 8 January 2011 1-2 now. 91st minute. Please hold on Stevenage. Ahahahahahah 3-1!!!!
MikeyT Posted 8 January 2011 Posted 8 January 2011 THAT is what the F.A. Cup is all about. Brilliant.
Mee Posted 8 January 2011 Posted 8 January 2011 Great result. Credit to Stevenage. Newcastle did not look bothered.
