Guest ttfn Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 Game hinged on 2 moments: 1) Sven taking Bednar off. 2) Ludicrous penalty decision (although we definitely should have had one later)
haraven Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 Aww, did you miss me? It was just suffolk and myself in chat for the latter part, and IOWF was hanging up clothes for drying and missed all the goals.
Suffolk_fox Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 Aww, did you miss me? Yes, but I blame duff ammo... It was just suffolk and myself in chat for the latter part, and IOWF was hanging up clothes for drying and missed all the goals. Doesn't IOWF's butler normally do that?
Captain... Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 - Great 2nd half performance, first half we were poor you have to admit but how good was the second WITHOUT BEDNAR!!!! It wasn't that Bednar was off the pitch it was that Dyer was on it, he has been extremely unlucky to lose out to Vassell in my opinion. That and Vassell in his favoured role through the middle and we looked fantastic, we had a very mobile front 3 with Vassell, Gallagher and Dyer and we looked great on the counter, this is also an attack that Waggy and Fryatt can fit in to. Wouldn't be too bothered if we didn't sign Bednar in January. First half yes we were poor, 2 players trying to find match fitness in Bednar and Vassell is 1 too many in my opinion.
AmyLGK Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 Funny as. Young: "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" And him singing along to christmas songs haha!
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 Vasseline's finish was a peach.
Pegosteve Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 TBF I think Bedner was injured, but am not sure he is the right man for the job, he needs to have 3 good games if he wants a contract, but we need better than him for the run in. Trouble is where, in January do you get a class striker when you are championship club... unless we can go on a run of straight wins.
Jakemoore Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 Great second half but that'll cover up some terrible defensive lapses that we weren't punished for. Naughton motm for me. You can be happy tonight, hoestly it's ok to smile.

Agree with that and hopefully Sven will see the light too. Dyer restored to the wing and Vassell through the middle is a must.
Webbo Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 About time we gave someone a dicking. Wellens MOTM for me. Me too, I don't care who wears the armband he's the real captain of the team, sticking his foot in shouting instructions and he topped it off with the goal of the game. Vassel looked so much better when he moved more into the centre. The ref must have been the only person in the ground who thought that was a peno
Pegosteve Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 Kyle Naughton, brilliant used the F word twice. Couldn't remember Bedners F*****g name! He obviously has made an impact with the squad!
Haydos Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 Great attacking performance in the second half. Chuuuuuffed with that, we looked like something could happen with every break from midfield Unfortunately defensively we looked all over the place and were lucky to only concede one tbf. Their forwards seemed to find way to much space in the last half hour. Looked like it was down to a lot of collective ball watching and poor marking but couldn't really tell as the stream was a bit shit. Weale looked shot of confidence again, dodgy clearances, panicked when Vitor was shielding the ball back to him, flapped at a cross. On another positive note, wellens looks a different player. Passing and decision making was a lot better and cracking hit for his goal. Sven seems to have given him a bit of freedom and happy he's starting to prove the doubters wrong. All in all, very positive performance, need to start turning these into good runs ( good runs). :sge:
jonthefox Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 just got in..chuffin fantastic today. never won the holiday though
marbelladave Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 Great result... Fairly typical half-arsed performance... We were really lucky to be 1-1 at half time, totally undeserved I thought. Second half we were better but we have played this well a number of times of late. Despite the scoreline we were still wastful in front of goal and horribly erratic in defence, could have been very different. As I said elswhere, I had to watch todays game on a stream, so if my impressions are wrong I apologise, but apart from the extra threat Vassell's pace gave us down the middle I thought it was a faily typical performance from City, Donny were wretched and we found the net a few times but Naughton's strike apart, the goals all had an element of luck that we have otherwise not been getting. Defensively we were still wide open, Donny could well have made a real contest of it if they were a bit sharper in front of goal.
scott_gunnell Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 Liverpool, Fulham, and Aston Villa didnt want Sven. Leicester did, and your climbing the table ))) Cant wait for the day he puts you all in the play off position. I still have no doubt you will finish top 6. --- Sven supporter

scott_gunnell Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 Sounds like the opening line to a new chant. . When I visit the stadium soon I hope to hear thousands of you lot singing it. hehe
Chryatis Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 A really good 2nd half performance, helped by a dodgy 1st half penalty. Wellens was MoM for me.
Edmund Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 Dyer has to start ahead of Bednar. We looked so much better when Dyer came on. We kept the ball on the deck and didn't result to lumping it forward and losing possession as we did when Bednar was on. Our style of football suits the ball being kept on the deck in the final third and on todays performance it showed. Bednar obviously has quality in his locker but he's either offside or penalised for fouling on one two many occasions for my liking. Fucking great result :city:
Webbo Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 Sven said on the radio that he(Bedner) came off because somebody stamped on his foot and he'd gone for an X ray. Maybe he'll be injured next week.
BlueSi13 Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 Bendnar on = Doncaster 1-0 up and in complete control of the game. Should have perhaps been 3-0 Bendnar off = Leicester win 5-1 and could have scored at least 2 more.
MrSpaM Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 Great win after a poor first half Doncaster have the worst away support i have ever witnessed in my entire life, i'd be ashamed if our supporters were that quiet away from home.
Ashley Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 A game of two half's. Leicester didn't really look interested in the first half, Doncaster seemed faster and stronger. Wellens should of been tracking back for Doncaster's first goal however credit to Billy Sharp for his finish. Should it of been a penalty? Couldn't really see from my seat however lady luck is on our side... FINALLY!! Second half was completely different, great goal from Wellens also his pass for Naughtons goal was ace, same goes for Kyles finish. I'm glad Vassell and Waghorn got on the score sheet. Let's build on this now Leicester!
Bugg Posted 11 December 2010 Posted 11 December 2010 That's what I'm talking about! Appalling first half, but in the second half we completely dominated and could've scored about 7. I'll have to see that penalty again cause I don't really think that it looked a penalty. And Wellens finally shoots when he has the opportunity, great goal.
