Stevosevic Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 With Yakubu signing, this deal is probably off now.
Jackirius Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 With Yakubu signing, this deal is probably off now. Hmmm you would think, but with the getting rid of Fryatt and Howard probably soon to go with the Yak coming in i think he would be a fairly decent signing still.

STUHILL Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 Don't want to sound greedy but I would like to see Parker here too
ajthefox Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 I'd imagine Parker is a no go now. Vassel, Yakubu, Waggy, Howard AND Parker would be too much. Feel sorry for Waggy as it is, left sunderland for us on the back of last season and as barely had a chance.
MattyFromLE Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 I think Waggy will get his chance soon, whether he takes it tho ..
LCFCmatt Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 Waghorn is terrible and puts in minimal effort. Get him out now.
superfox1980 Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 Waghorn is terrible and puts in minimal effort. Get him out now. I would say a lack of confidence is Waggy's problem right now. There's no lack of effort............
Adster Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 No offence to Waghorn but when he came on as a sub in the Man City game, he was absolutely terrible. And i know being on the wing isn't his natural position, but that doesn't explain the amount of heavy touches he took and the several times he gave the ball away. One for the future me thinks.
superfox1980 Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 Personally I'd loan him out to a league 1 club for a month or so to build his confidence back up and score some goals. A shade of the player he was was last season.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 I definitley still want Parker. p.s. Just watched that video..my God I want to monkeyscrub that bellend presenter til his scalp bleeds!
Bausor Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 i would play 4-3-1-2 with parker behind the strikers keeping the midfield the same, king, wellens, yuki, in front vassell and yakubu,

artursteppe Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 He says he is desperate to get away from FC Twente. Would even come to us to sit on the bench to begin with because he is confident he could soon prove he is good enough to start. Hungry, enthusiastic players who have pace and skill ( when I say hungry, I don't mean like overfeeding the Yak ) are always the best to bring in. He is also desperate to stay in the South Africa team. I could see him with Vassell and the Yak - smokeeeeey!

Leicfox Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 if this is true, thats definately the type of player id want in my team, real hunger and determination http://www.goal.com/en/news/1659/south-africa/2011/01/13/2303396/south-african-striker-bernard-parker-wants-to-leave-fc The Bafana Bafana striker was on trial at Leicester City recently and impressed their coach Sven-Göran Eriksson. However, the deal now hinges on whether Leicester actually have a place in the team for Parker after Eriksson admitted in one of his recent interviews that "I am not sure [Parker] will improve the starting eleven, but might make the bench better".However, the 24-year-old feels he can make a lasting impression if given an opportunity by the 'The Foxes'. "I am very keen on moving to Leicester and I mean they have high ambitions. They want to get Yakubu from Everton so they are serious about winning promotion to the Premier League. I know I can do well given a chance there," Parker said to Kickoff.com. Parker, though, admits he is still in the dark as to whether the deal will materialise. "I don't know what's happening now (with the deal), but I think it will go through. What I know is that the two teams have agreed a fee and we are now waiting for Twente to make the final decision but I haven't heard anything yet, but my manager (Mike Makaab) says we must wait on Leicester while we look at other possibilities," he said. Despite this, Parker certainly wants out of Twente for the sake of his international career. "I want to go for the sake of game time. I want to be ready when I come to play for the national team but that's not possible if you are not playing at club level. I have to fight to keep my place in the team, because I want to be there in the next Afcon and I want to be in Brazil for the World Cup in 2014. "I don't want to lose my position in the national team," Parker confessed. "There are other strikers coming through like Davide Somma and so on, so for me to keep my place in the Bafana team I have to be playing at club level and I'm not playing at FC Twente, that's why I want to go… if I don't play I will lose my sharpness and one disappointing game and I don't get called up to the national team. "I can't afford to miss out on playing for my country because I'm not playing for my club. But I'm positive and I know something will happen before the end of January," Parker concluded. Makaab couldn't be reached for comment to shed light on Leicester's intentions regarding Parker.
ajthefox Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 I definitley still want Parker. p.s. Just watched that video..my God I want to monkeyscrub that bellend presenter til his scalp bleeds! Is that some illaborate type of masturbation? i would play 4-3-1-2 with parker behind the strikers keeping the midfield the same, king, wellens, yuki, in front vassell and yakubu, wouldn't work because there is absoutely no width there
Thracian Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 Even considering all our strikers, I'll be disappointed if we miss out on Parker. It may sound cruel but even though it gives he no pleasue I'd sooner have Parker than Waghorn and we will all have to woner about the fitness of the Yak and continued involvement of Howard. Parker looks to me like a slightly less pacey bu perhaps more gifted DJ - a man who would be a nightmare to mark. Despite a whole heap of derision DJ has showed himself to be a vital cog in Blackpol's amazing season just as he was in their winning promotion. I know it's risky looking at videos but look at the variety in Parker's goals, his quick decision-making, fast feet and good balance in every situation. As a manager you surely love to have that sort of ability available.
Nick Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 We should re-call DJ asap - and Max Gradle, with Yak, Parker, Vassell up front & Vieria in the middle. Thing is, Sven has overlooked the fact we can't have more than 3 loan players and two abroadians on the bench whilst registered for other clubs. Could we bring Porter up from the reserves? I make no apologies, just thought I'd get in first.

lcfcnoely Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 Could we bring Porter up from the reserves? What ever happened to Levi Porter?
Nick Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 What ever happened to Levi Porter? I think the best way of putting it would be that he had some personal difficulties and left the club by mutual consent...........
