MC Prussian Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 James Beattie to Blackpool. Tidy business there. EDIT: It's only a loan move until the end of the season, so don't get too carried away.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 I wouldn't call Torres injury prone, that sounds like Liverpudlian bitterness to me. He's had an injury problem that they've not really done very well to rehabilitate (not surprising given their reliance on him) but he does't have a track record of missing countless games every year. And they're "as bad as they've ever been" (if they are) because they've been signing shit, mid-table players as if they were super stars. How exactly are they bucking that trend with Adam and Carroll? Unless you know nothing about football, you'll realize Charlie Adam has been superb in an overachieveing Blackpool team for the last 2 years. Andy Carroll is 22, leads the line well, scores goals, parntered with Suarez they could form a great partnership. Agree with Sparky, 50 million for an injury hit Torres on patchy form is a good deal
StanSP Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Torres is passing his medical as we speak, according to Guillem Balague, and only thing left to negotiate is a 4 1/2 year deal or 5 1/2 year deal. And the signing by Liverpool for Suarez is FINALLY confirmed.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Up in Scotland, we are hearing that Rangers have signed El Hadji Diouf Surprised Neil Warnock didn't have a cheeky bid.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Which is why the new management needed to step up, inject a bit of money and make some signings (a la Suarez) to convince him that quality would be coming and he should sit tight. Don't think it was just that he was disillusioned by Liverpool's decline that caused his form to suffer. He was pretty dreadful at the World Cup too. He looked less than average playing alongside David Villa.
Fox You Forest Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Only because Benitez ran him into to the ground whilst he should have been resting to clear up a niggling injury.
Corky Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Have the Sky reporters been allowed inside the buildings they're at yet?

Nor does six months of Premiership football at Newcastle, that's all Carroll has played more or less and he's being bought for one of the largest fees in history. Don't think it was just that he was disillusioned by Liverpool's decline that caused his form to suffer. He was pretty dreadful at the World Cup too. He looked less than average playing alongside David Villa. He was not fit.
Mikey Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Torres for Chelsea will be absolutely lethal. Don't care what anyone says about this season, Torres is a class above Carroll.
Finnegan Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Torres is a class above Carroll. And then some.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 The same 'agent' who got us Abe sealed the Ruben Rochina deal at Blackburn, but he tried to get him to sign for us on loan in the summer, interesting to see how well he gets on
StanSP Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Torres for Chelsea will be absolutely lethal. Don't care what anyone says about this season, Torres is a class above Carroll. Torres AND Drogba is lethal. And Anelka if Ancelotti feels he wants to rest one of them. Great options to have! Compare that to Carroll and N'Gog and you're laughing.
Leicfox Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Breaking News:Daniel Levy airing idea of 50% ownership of Charlie Adam.100% serious http://twitter.com/tscollymore
shen Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 On other news, Wolfsburg sell dzeko and get tuncay haha Helmes is the replacement for Dzeko
Jackirius Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Highest transfer fees in the history of football... Cristiano Ronaldo £80m Zlatan Ibrahimovic £60.7m Kaka £56m Torres £48m Figo £37m Carroll £36m
ScouseFox Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Newcastle make last minute £10,000,000 bid to take Charles N'Zogbia back to St. James' Park. edit- Been rejected by Wigan, claiming it's "too late".
SystonFox Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 What a cracking deadline day! Andy Carroll is one of my favourite players, hefty tag but he'll be a great player for 'Pool. Think he may become a Kop legend. Him along with Suarez & (possibly Anelka) would be quality, better than Torres on his own. However Torres & Drogba, they could be unstoppable. Darren Bent would seem a better buy for me but who am I to question Ancelotti. David Luiz too, quality CB. If Liverpool come out of the window with Suarez, Carroll & Adam and spent relatively little due to the fee recieved for Torres, then they're the big winners for me. Think the deal suits Newcastle too though, could improve in all areas with that money. Or mike ashley will just pocket it???!!! Have you paid any attention to that mans actions at newcastle? If anything all it will do is mean less cheap shite in sports direct cos he doesn't need to slash ALL prices
Fox You Forest Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Cristiano Ronaldo £80m Zlatan Ibrahimovic £60.7m Kaka £56m Torres £48m Figo £37m Carroll £36m Brilliant. Hang on a minute, shouldn't Zidane be on that list, poor Andy will have to make way.
ScouseFox Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 They're bloody quick with songs around here; Fernando proved he's not a red, Torres, Torres, The money's gone straight to his head, Torres, Torres, **** off the Chelsea, ruin your life, we hope John Terry shags your wife, Fernando Torres, Judas in disguise.
SystonFox Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Aren't Liverpool playing at Chelsea this Sunday?interesting!!!
StanSP Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Aren't Liverpool playing at Chelsea this Sunday?interesting!!! Yep. I wouldn't be surprised if Liverpool said they can only have him if he can't play on Sunday, as bizarre as that sounds!
Samilktray Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 I cant believe how much Liverpool have paid for that fucking pikey
