StarFox Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 I hate to be argumentative but I sort of agree with the first caller. We got 3 points and that's great but we need to be more clinical and put games to bed much sooner if we want to realistically get promoted. I don't know if many of people have noticed but this is what the top 5 teams are doing and we haven't gained many points against those teams tonight. None the less I am extremely delighted with the win and lets hope we can keep the results coming in an guarantee a playoff place.
whitlock Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 Just a quote from a poster on a Blades forum poor lad has smashed his knee to bits and according to the medical staff may not play again .
Stevosevic Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 Just a quote from a poster on a Blades forum Oh
Narborough_fox Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 For everything about him that I don't like I really really hope Mattock is okay and makes a full recovery.
Master Fox Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 He caught his studs in the turf and had to go off on a stretcher with possible broken ankle.
lcfcsnow Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 Enormous 3 points, it makes it even more pleasing to win when perhaps we didn't deserve all 3 as Micky Adams football teams are an embarrassment to the game, Sheffield United deserve to go down for appointing him he's totally out of his depth at this level. Take your hoofball back to League 2 Micky!
Guest shearfox Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 20 games on and 37 points gained. Fucking great effort! We need around 30 points from our last 17 games if we are to have a realistic shot at the playoffs... so we are defo on track for the playoffs.. Incredible how we have managed to get in this position.

We gained points on 4 of the play off contenders so they're not all putting games to be quite so easily Norwich won with a 90th minute goal by a solitary goal Forest came from behind and won by a solitary goal Cardiff scraped a 94th minute draw Leeds had to come from 2-0 down to get a draw Watford only manage a draw at home against 4th bottom after being in front Reading threw away a win by conceding to Cardiff's 94th minute equaliser
LukeyZade Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 underwear full, sweat dripping, edge of seat that game was, another 2wins stil may not get us play-offs either but at min im very proud of the lads, ( barnsley and bristol next? easy 6points) weale is brill why dont sven see that. why ricardo?
lcfcsnow Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 weale is brill why dont sven see that. why ricardo? Sven knows what he's doing, a new keeper was necessary. Has it ever crossed anyones mind that the reason we are so under pressure in away games is because the keeper doesn't communicate with his back 4? Well done to Weale tonight though sounds like he had the game of his life.
Fosse Boy Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 There isn't a single facebook status from anyone I know at the game who hasn't used the phrase "smash and grab".
Sufc82 Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 Well done today guys, not sure how you won but thats the way things are going for us these days. I dont usually post on other teams boards but I just have to say how disgusted I was with your fans when Mattock was carried off on a stretcher tonight. The abuse and chanting toward a player being carried off with a potential career threatening injury was absolutley disgraceful. Those responsible should be ashamed! A few did clap as he was carried off but the majority were an embarrassement to your club. Good luck with the rest of your season, Hope you do Forrest and Leeds in the playoffs!
Ross-Kemp Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 Wow. How we won is beyond me. Why is Matt Oakley still playing he's shit. Oh, and I think Mattcock broke his ankle, what a night
Guest Mee-9 Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 Mattock.possible serious leg/ankle injury Pardon my ignorance earlier. But I've heard it's a career threatening injury. Even if he left under a cloud, I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Anyway. Did tonight remind anyone of the Reading away game last season?

ibbosuk Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 Very good result tonight, which will count for nothing if we dont win at home on Saturday. :sge: Well played Svens boys.
Corky Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 Just a shame we had those batterings early in the season as our goal difference is setting us back a bit, if it comes down to it at the end.

Whatever the guy has done or is supposed to have done, it lets the whole side down and doesn't do any credit to the Leicester fans
StanSP Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 Anyone remember Reading away, last season in October? Reminded me exactly of that. Backs against the wall for the whole match, and lucky that we got the goal. Still, 3 points is all that matters and up the league we go! Pardon my ignorance earlier. But I've heard it's a career threatening injury. Even if he left under a cloud, I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Anyway. Did tonight remind anyone of the Reading away game last season? :D
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 Felt this was a game where we would have dropped points, like we do with out-of-form teams (preston, ipswich et al), but we didn't so credit to the boys. Hoping for an away win at Derby now
Jakemoore Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 I had to tidy my room to keep me from panicking, mum will be happy at least quality result away from home in a highly contested battle against a struggling scrapping Sheffield team. I can't wait for Saturday against the Tykes and it's my B-day match so we had better win Come on Leicester <3

Some people have very strong feelings about Mr Mattock, maybe on reflection they'll wished they hadn't booed. In the heat of the moment people do silly things and If Kyle Naughton/Walker had done to you what he has done here I doubt you wouldn't of reacted in the same way!
