ajthefox Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 Just read this on 606, apparently the attendance for Cov vs Forest was just 14,000, and thats with Forest probably taking 1-2000... "Very poor attendance tonight but understanding why! Aidy and Ray asked us all to get behind the team and spend our hard earned pounds week in week out, which I have done. It works both ways, one of the biggest cities in the UK and we are only attracting this amount of fans which how many were Forest fans tonight?! I have decided after months and months doing what AB and the club have asked of me as a supporter that I am now stopping going to matches from after the Leeds match. I am sick and tired to the back teeth of poor negative football week in and week out and everything the opposite of what I expect from the club I grew to love. I am off to watch local grassroots football from next week for a while, might return but will have to see how things go which at the moment....."
MrSpaM Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 Not looking good for them is it, they must be losing money by the bucketload 12,000 against forest
MattyFromLE Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 I don't think it was many more when we played them there was it?
Mickey O'Neil Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Absolutely disgraceful. Saw the acres of empty seats after King scored. Tin-pot effort from a tin-pot club. Over-achieved early in the season, oh well!!!
MrSpaM Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 I don't think it was many more when we played them there was it? Nope, so god knows what they get on a normal fixture ... Crystal palace at home this season, they had 8,162 total, including palace supporters They had more at the QPR game earlier in the season than they had at the forest game tonight
StanSP Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Joke club. But we're on a great run, 13/15 points in the league this year, and we still find time to talk about them. Get a grip
lestajigs Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Lets all laugh at Coventry!!!!
jonthefox Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Lets all laugh at Coventry!!!! Go on then, if i must.
RedHux Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 We took around 2k. Those Cov fans who mad it though were silent, and I'm not just saying that as an away fan, they were literally silent (except the odd boo at the end of the first half).
Corky Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 I am surprised by their attendances, Coventry is quite similar to Leicester in terms of size and yet we'd fetch 20k for a normal midweek game (obviously Forest would be a bigger crowd for us).
nffc_Galidia Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 it was embarassingly quiet last night from the Coventry fans. we actually struggled ourselves to get any kind of atmosphere going with them at all. It felt a bit like being on stage and trying to do a stand up routine, but you weren't getting any laughs. actually cringeworthy, but having seen the way they played their football i can probably understand why they are not turning up to watch. shocking way to approach football,. give it Westwood and let him kick it as far as he can.
hairy Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 They have always struggled with attendance figures even when I lived there 20+ years ago. With the ground now being out of the centre I imagine its only made the situation worse.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Am I on the only person who heard the 5 live commentator last weekend, talking about the Cov fans travelling to Brum?? It went something along the lines of, 'and coventry have taken a MASSIVE following of 6k fans for their 4th round tie today' WHAT? 20 mins down the road, local derby, cup tie, at a weekend and the game wasn't on tele? Wonder, if anything, what they said about the 7k leicester fans making up to manchester on a tuesday night when the game was on tele!!
