cc_star Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Just been on Radio Leicester that Andy King could be set to sign a new improved contract despite only signing a new 4 year deal in the summer, Richie Wellens is reportedly also in talks for a new deal, along with someone else. Both get a thumbs up from me, improved terms will obviously mean their heads are less likely to be turned now that we are well & truly on the up and both of them are a key reason for that.
Fox1651 Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 yep theve both played well this season and as long as they are loyal to Leicester City we should be loyal to them also
blueredswed Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 And booth knew what Sven will! Premiere league and they get on the train
Tewy5 Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Good news shows were going places . Keep it going sven
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Great news hopefully they will be here for a long while yet.
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 probably the two most important players in the team and the two best players this season great news
Stevosevic Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 The somone else, maybe Gallagher? Only permanent player i can think of who is probably due one.
Bryn Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Not sure I'd call having to offer higher terms to a player who just signed a 4 year deal 'fantastic', but good to know they won't be fooking off. Wellens signing is good news.
whitlock Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Haven't been listening to the wireless... anything get mentioned, contract wise?
Cropwellfox Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 I'd get Darius signed up for another year beyond when his contract is due to finish (end of next season) - proved himself worthy of a longer term deal.

Wellens signing is good news. I'm more inclined to agree with this than other posts. Rewarding our more important players is fair enough but this is a weird move, especially for king who would've no doubt got improved wages when he re-signed in summer anyway. I'd like to think these two are more attatched than an extra couple of thousand a week but I suppose this will only help the cause.

Perhaps they were January targets, we almost certainly know Wellens was, it wouldn't surprise me if strong inquiries were received for King too Plus King's deal was done before the new administration and £40k/wk loan signings
Matt Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 This is situation is the problem you get arising when you sign the likes of Yakubu on loan (With a view to a perminant move) meaning - High wages. Obviously some of our players need to take a look at themselves and whilst performing well in the Championship thats exactly what they are - Championship players and shouldn't receive such high wages but the likes of King and Wellens and a few other players could probably play for Premiership team thus getting a better wage, but the problem I am pointing out is the fear I had when we signed Yakubu, the players envying the high wage and potentially demanding so, I may be well of the track suggesting this and while I do believe King, Wellens and others are happy to be at the club they may now want a wage rise as such seeing players on much higher wages coming into the club.
Toby or not Toby Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 Dyer the other one? Not sure when his contracts up but got a feeling its this summer, could be wrong though!
whitlock Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 Might be wrong but sure Dyer signed a new long term deal at the start of the season?
Bert Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 Dyer the other one? Not sure when his contracts up but got a feeling its this summer, could be wrong though! Not long signed a new 4 year contract.
Drift Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 Decent news if 'improved' means longer, just a shame that contracts seem to have little meaning these days. The only benefit to us is the higher fee we could expect if the player wants to go and other clubs are interested.
cc_star Posted 4 February 2011 Author Posted 4 February 2011 Dyer the other one? Not sure when his contracts up but got a feeling its this summer, could be wrong though! New 5 year deal for Howard
Toby or not Toby Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 Not long signed a new 4 year contract. Bloody hell must of missed that one
Houdini Logic Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 Unless it's a change in the length of contract I don't even want to know - I'm more than happy to be naive to these other sort of things
Edmund Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 It's easy to forget that he's only 22. He's already a top championship midfielder. He'll definitely go far in football if he carries on in the same vein. He's always improving and comes across as having a great attitude. Hopefully he'll be a one team player with us.
Adster Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 Isn't yuki on a small contract? If so he could be one in talks.
