abe13 Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 Is it something to do with him being left out of the next u19 squad because of the youth cup here? Saw him saying something to his mate on facebook about it. Maybe. I thought he's English though.
Haydos Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 Maybe. I thought he's English though. Nah he's German with Ghanaian routes. Can't shed any more light than that though, was just wondering if the two things were connected.
Narborough_fox Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 "Surprise at the next seminar of the U19 national team - will coach Ralf Minge take the first time in England playing, young Germans Jeffrey "Jeff" Schlupp under the microscope. Born in Hamburg striker with Ghanaian roots is currently playing for the Academy of Leicester City and was able to make last with good performances in the FA Youth Cup attention. Coach Sven Goran Eriksson has made an early debut Schlupp by the professionals in view. "There are some players, for which I am very sure that they make it even to the pros and I think one will do it very soon, once he is fit again -. Jeff Schlupp He is physically strong, fast and can Shutters shoot, "said the former England coach. "He will train with the first team as often as possible. I can imagine that he is about to jump into the team. I would certainly not surprised. " Schlupp will now participate in early March for the first time in a DFB course in Hennef, the coach will Minge use it to find off-seeded player to new talent." Google translate, so pretty crap translate. Think it's him being called up to the next u-19's not left out.
Narborough_fox Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 lol Didn't spot that, what a fantastic name that is.
shailen Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 I understand that he's not a juggernaut but there's a clear difference between, for example, Ashley Chambers and Ashley Cole. I remember standing a couple of feet away from Ashley Chambers towards the end of the summer and being struck by how tiny he is, not just in statute, but athletically. Does Schlupp seem like he'd handle the physicality of professional football at this early stage? Given his age, I'm not suggesting there's any shame in his being somewhat petite, I'm just curious given how early some lads of the younger generation are prone to develop. Mate two words: lionel messi!
MC Prussian Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 Can I just say that Schlupp is an awful name to have, especially as a German. It's very close to "schlapp" which means lame, flabby or floppy. That's my two cents of things you didn't really need to know wisdom for tonight. EDIT: No offense, Jeff.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 When ever i see his name i think Jeff sloppy seconds
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 I think Schlupp sounds like a soft drink.
Finnegan Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 Mate two words: lionel messi! Messi has a very low center of gravity and is deceptively strong. He's a good athlete.
CKB Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 Schlapp me where it hurts big boy. Lets have abit of schlapp and tickle!
brookfox Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 Sven said during his Q&A night that definitely one and maybe up to 3 of the current academy will make the first team squad next season. Got to assume Schlupp is the one. Said he'd be happy with the academy producIng one first teamer a season.

Ric Flair Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 Leicester to lose 2-0 tomorrow, Schlupp to make his debut and the new Heskey is born?
Jimmy Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 Leicester to lose 2-0 tomorrow, Schlupp to make his debut and the new Heskey is born? I doubt he'll debut unless any game is a dead rubber, Waghorn, Dyer & even Moussa after his loan spell would probably all be trusted ahead of him
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 I doubt he'll debut unless any game is a dead rubber, Waghorn, Dyer & even Moussa after his loan spell would probably all be trusted ahead of him I would have thought he is probably ahead in the pecking order for matches now otherwise I expect Schlupp would have gone out on loan instead.
CupidStunt Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 I had home made pizza for my Schlupper last night, it looked a bit messi, so i did a andy carroll on the missus, and she gave me a Schlupp across the chopra and said av another defoe if you think your gerrard enough
Jimmy Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 I would have thought he is probably ahead in the pecking order for matches now otherwise I expect Schlupp would have gone out on loan instead. Schlupp gets games for the youth team Moussa doesn't
Bert Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 Schlupp gets games for the youth team Moussa doesn't That's because Schlupp is a youth team player and Moussa isn't.
Kingylcfc Posted 4 March 2011 Posted 4 March 2011 IMO give Schlupp a chance this season....throw him in at the deep end and give him a chance to prove his ability this season But :sge: knows best
