TheUltimateWinner Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 English eyes on Real gem Morata attracting attention from Premier League A host of English clubs are understood to be following Real Madrid starlet Alvaro Morata. The Spanish youth strker is widely considered one of Real's best prospects. The 18-year-old, who has been likened to former Real ace Fernando Morientes, is currently on fire for Madrid's B side Castilla with eight goals in his last six games. This included a hat-trick against Deportivo La Coruna's second team last weekend, when four English sides had scouts present to watch. Arsenal, Tottenham, Fulham and Leicester were all represented in Madrid. Manchester United were strongly linked with Morata last month, with some reports even claiming a bid had been made, but Jose Mourinho is understood to be a confirmed fan. Morata had been put forward as possible solution to Real's striking problems when Gonzalo Higuain was ruled out through injury. But Mourinho opted for him to finish the season with Castilla, rather than promoting him to the first-team, although Morata did taste senior action earlier this term when he played in the Copa Del Rey with Levante. Sources in Spain suggest that while Real would shun all offers for Morata, they would consider allowing him to leave on loan. SSN Link Im sure Sven will beat off Man Utd in his sleep!
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 Man United, Spurs, Arsenal, Fulham, and us. Brilliant.
nickelbyfox Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 Seems like he would be a good signing! Jeez just to be mentioned in the same article as those other clubs is pretty amazing!
Webbo Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 Spanish starlet would leave Real Madrid and turn down ManUre, Arsenal and Spurs for us. Hmmm.
jonthefox Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 Seems like he would be a good signing! Jeez just to be mentioned in the same article as those other clubs is pretty amazing! Like you say. maybe a loan? Edit. sorry , didnt read it properly.
Uncle Phil Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 I can't see Manure Arsenal etc wanting to loan a prospect though. They'll surely want to buy straight up.
Adster Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 Can't see why just because PL teams are interested means they have more chance than us on this one. The idea of a loan is that they get first team football, he's only young, so what's to say he'll get a lot of that with a loan spell to a club like Man Utd or Spurs? If he came to Leicester there is more chance of him getting first team action and scoring goals, because the young lad will have to force himself into Utd/Spurs first team, which is kind of hard considering that have good top players, like Berbatov, Rooney, Hernandez. Or in Spurs case Van Der Vaart, Defoe and Crouch.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 Seems like he would be a good signing! Jeez just to be mentioned in the same article as those other clubs is pretty amazing! Indeed. I never thought I'd live to see the day when we were able to compare to the likes of Fulham.
Jacnah Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 if this actually happens then i would think he would need to play as i cant understand what madrid would get out of a loan when he warms the bench...im not sure whose place he would take if he did play though?
h.nutt26 Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 This is fantastic, the quality linked to leicester is amazing, when we get to the premiership I expect we will have a huge amount of players come in and im sure they will be ace players.
LCFClukeLCFC Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 championship or champions league i know which one i would prefer 'o'
muzzy1981 Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 I think this is another reflection of the way Sven is managing us like a prem league club he isn't intimated by other clubs. I guess to be big you have to think big!
MPH Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 I think the fact they only want to loan him out might mean we stand a chance. Sven would guarentee him 1st team football whilst the other clubs couldnt do that.... couldnt and wouldnt...

Sven is God, the Messiahs 2nd coming!
Kingylcfc Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 Don't get me wrong, its great being linked with all these amazing sounding players, but surely the lure of Manchester United or Arsenal would beat any attempt by Leicester. But where theres a will, theres a Sven
Happy Fox Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/news/Leicester-City-trio-set-loan/article-3238321-detail/article.html? Meanwhile, Eriksson has dismissed speculation linking him with a move for Real Madrid reserve Alvaro Morata. City were said to be monitoring the youngster's progress at the Bernebau Stadium, but Eriksson said there had been no contact with Madrid. "I wondered where that came from," said Eriksson said. "It is probably because our chief scout went to see a reserve game at Real Madrid. "He is a good player but he is one of a number of good players in that game. But that is his job to see games. We have no contact at all with Real Madrid." I wonder who the other real madrid players we were looking at
