Waghorn saved a lot of backsides last night, including Sven's. He could and should have been brought on a lot earlier.

The midfield was shocking during the second half - the worst I've seen from them since the Sousa era.

As for Ricardo, he's no better than Ikeme or Kirkland. Bothroyd, Bellamy and co will relish the thought of playing against him on Tuesday. We need Weale back asap!

"We love you Leicester we do"! Five wins on the bounce now, the best run since our last such epic one at the end of last season when we won our last five to qualify in 5th for the play offs of course - which all lead to before some silly Frenchman in Wales who decided to try on the cheeky chip penalty in the shoot out and deny us potential glory at Wembley to follow. Still, it brings us to where we are now, such fate, which isn't a bad place!

I'm not going to be bold enough to predict what will happen between now and the end of the season this time round but the play offs are looking good, though second may be a bit optimistic as things presently stand - particularly if we play like we did in the second half v Bristol tonight! Then again I suppose the old cliche is that if you can play mediocre and still win then you are possibly going places! Good to see Waggy back in the goals too and what a winner - despite the outrageous good fortune with Oakley's assist! Then again we didn't have any luck at Ashton Gate in the earlier fixture down there so maybe this was to make up for that tonight! I'm unconvinced with the ex Portuguese international keeper Sven seems to favour though, I would rather see Weale between the sticks! I bet the Brizzle fans were disappointed to see him missing tonight so no stick was forthcoming!

Looking forward to my next game at the Walkers v Cov., it'lll be my first there since the Man. City cup game being the exhilee in Devon that I am these days!

I'm still massively buzzing for getting three points tonight.

I think it's the realisation that we could actually be playing Prem football next season.

Still a long way to go but we're definitely in with a chance.

I love LCFC.

The house is quiet, everyone's safely tucked up in bed. All's good with the world.

I would think Waggy's buzzing too - maybe a starting slot on Tuesday?

On the down side I still haven't seen City play yet this season - finances etc.

Have got to see a game soon.

Edit Just remembered I saw the two games in a week at Portsmouth (have tried to forget the 6-1 defeat!)

From the eventual realisation that I wouldn't be able to make Friday night's game in person, to the final result come 9.45 yesterday evening, that was nothing short of a rollercoaster. A first-half strike from the occasionally 'lazy' yet seemingly miss-less Yakubu, attempted to put nerves at rest as it looked, despite a lack of domination of the game, to still be a fairly routine affair.

Cue a second half in which we were virtually outclassed - quite literally everything that happened seemed to be to their benefit and we came across as disjointed and utterly ineffective, right up until just before the final whistle...

... when one moment of predatory genius makes the dreadful second-half performance utterly irrelevant and sees a 3 points, as much deserved as undeserved, fall into the hands of the Foxes.

I would have committed serious sin to have been there, but to at least go through the next few hours in the knowledge that THIS is what my team is about nowadays is something any Leicester fan, regardless of who they are or from where they are watching, should be truly proud of.

A win we didn't deserve really. A draw would have been the fair result but football doesn't work like that. We won because at the end we just had the better quality on the pitch where it really mattered, in the oppositions penalty area.

Earlier in the season we would have lost that game simply because we would not have scored. Yakubu forced himself to be in the right place to score because he has the quality and quickness of mind to know insinctivley where to go. He atttacks the near post area when required something none of our other strikers this season seemed to know how to. Secondly people have questioned why we paid £2M for Waghorn. Tonight helped show why. Apart from his tenacity the actual executiuon of the finish for his goal was top quality. Bristol played very well in the second half but they just didn't have the extra quality in front of goal to make us pay. Their main striker was clearly not match fit and the others just looked ordinary.

There were times when we played some good stuff, especially in the first half but overall we were lacklustre and didn't seem up for it. In a way I wonder how much of this is down, not just to Bristol upping their game second half but to the pressure we were under to win. The fans know who the next four games are against and so will the players; they knew they really had to win last night and I think the mass celebration at the winning goal showed that. By winning last night we have manged to put ourselves in a position of serious play off contenders. For the last few weeks we have been free of this sort of pressure. Of the next 4 games in 3 will not be favourites and the pressure will be different.

We will need to be much much better at cardiff to have any hope of a positive result. Their pitch isn't supposed to be very good and there will be a hostile crowd atmoshere. Too many of our key players were poor last night. Next week we need them to step up a lot.

The midfield let us down last night. People are saying Bristol pressured us but so many bad passes were unforced errors. Vassel tries really hard but he's not suited to the role he's been given. Ben Mee had an excellent game and Bamba , the guy is a f'cking god.

Pleased for Waggy too. His effort and determination won us the game that we could have quite easily lost.

that seems to be a recurring theme- any thoughts on why Wellens and Oakley (who despite being a bit of a whipping boy for the fans is nevertheless impressing the one person whose views count) were eclipsed ?

BC midfielders are strong and combative and with the addition of Keogh and Woolford they are no mugs and will progress in the division. Lets hope they can turn over some of our promotion rivals

Oh **** me I was delighted when I saw the result whilst out last night, fooking fantastic.

Shame about the performance being shit but to be honest that could work in our favour. We've got the points firmly on the board, but Sven now has license to warn the team against complacency, and make a few changes, despite it being a winning team.

Positives:

- Waggy showed that he really cares about the club and took his goal incredibly well. Some of his running and tackling back reminded me of a slightly inferior Rooney!

- Mee is INCREDIBLY good. I'd put good money on him being an England centre back in the future.

- the Yak actually jumped for a few headers

Negatives:

- we showed too much reliance on Wellens to pick a killer pass and looked lacking when he couldn't

- Kingy showed some poor decision making in his passes, especially when we had chances to counter in the second half

- Van Aanholt doesn't look ready yet... He's great going forward but I always feel nervous when he's defending.

- Morons in L, K and top of J3. Booing Ricardo? Slagging of your own fans? Thinking you're better than any other fans? Pathetic.

Relief at the final whistle.

Got out of jail

Yeah even after we scored the winner, I still thought Bristol could have got an equalizer, was still worried.

I bet Peter Whittingham will agree with you.

Personally I think alot of it was down to overconfidence and arrogance. It's a good quality to have when you're 3 or 4 goals up, but at one-nil, starting to play the flicks and the ole football was really unprofessional.

Is it just me or does it look like after Bristol have scored Ricardo falls to the floor like he's been hit in the face? It looks at first glance like a shocking attempt at pretending he got taken out, when clearly the bristol player was nowhere near him. I hope it was just frustration at letting a goal in

Think it was because PVA headed the ball over were he was diving

Hopefully this will be a lesson to the players (and fans) that we're far from unbeatable.

We were truly hopeless yesterday. Bristol City did a number on us in the first half, breaking up play with some crass fouling in the centre of the pitch.

Second half we played like the team who were relegated in 07/08. Oakley was absolutely hopeless, frequently giving possession away, whilst Vassell put in a totally brain-dead display on the right.

Sven also got it badly wrong. Abe should have been on before Bristol equalised, whilst bringing on Waghorn with only 7 minutes to go probably ought to have been a waste of time.

Which brings me on to Waghorn. I don't rate the guy. I think he has a poor first touch, and his decision-making is often infuriating.

But what he does have is energy and a commitment to the cause unparalleled by his peers. In a team as lacklustre as City were last night, he was exactly what the doctor ordered to rejuvenate the side.

In 7 minutes on the field he did more than Vassell did in 90, Dyer did in 25 and Gallagher in 65. He made a magnificent saving tackle to stop a Bristol breakaway, very nearly set up Yakubu for a tap in and then rocketed an unstoppable shot past James with the pressure really on.
