Fans leaving before the final whistle

Assuming someone leaves every match early and not just when we're loosing it's nothing to do with being loyal really.

You don't need to be an expert to realise that they're going to miss out on a couple of goals per season but that's their loss isn't it.

If missing out on 5 minutes is the difference between catching the last train home and having to stay in the station for 6 hours before getting the first train the next morning I think I may be inclined to leave early. I never have had that problem but some people must do.

I live two hours away and i dont leave early why pay good money to watch your team play then leave? its like the people that have a pint before the game and dont get in there seat for kick off it pisses me right off!

each to their own, some leave early but they paid for their ticket so it is up to them.

have a work mate who regularly misses the start of every home match, he has been going to watch city since the seventies and has programmes, tickets etc., all the way from then but has rarely been in the ground at the start of matches since he spends to long in the pub beforehand

I leave early from every game. Sacrifice 4 minutes of football to ensure I'm not sitting in traffic for an hour or more is a simple decision for me.I pay my money, so have every right to leave whenever I want. If I miss a goal, so what?! Doesnt mean I care any differently about the team.

I dont think its for anyone here or otherwise to question what people do!

I live far away, and I don't leave early. When ever I leave I don't get caught in football traffic, so I'm not sure what people are trying to beat. At the end of the day though it's their decision and doesn't affect me, so go for it.

After a 15:00 match, i tend to stay until 6:30. After a 19:45 match, we normally leave 22:45 (until the waiter locks the fridge with the rest of the beers inside) <

I'm all for a beer before the game but considering people are there early for a pint anyway its a bad job if you carnt get to your seat for kick off.

Sorry for having an opinion.

You have a waiter to bring beer from a fridge to your hand?

On a serious note don't you wish you were in the kop? Or do you genuinely like being in a box?

Heard a few negative thoughts about the kop area so i'm happy where i am and always will be.

Well Kop/East stand/wherever really? I'd hate not to be in amongst it. Drives me mad when my mum comes along, dunno what i'd do in a box.

I did have to sit in the corporate seats a few times a few years back and that was horrible. Jump up for chances/tell the ref to f**k off and everyone stares at you. Toffs. Each to their own I suppose.

what i'd do in a box.

Plenty to do in our box with my Uncle there along with one of his 'famous' friends alongside him at each home game. lol

Spose, that's not what i'm there for though. I have little empathy for anyone elses feelings about going to a football match actually :P Have no idea why I post on here lol

I don't know whether it's a myth or not (maybe foxblogger can clear this up), but it's being said that most of the goals in football are scored from the 89th minute onwards.

I don't have time to go through all the figures, but Leicester have scored 5 league goals on 85+ mins this season and conceded 6. Of the 98 goals in Leicester City league matches this season, that's 11% of the total.

Don't understand why anybody leaves early,it takes 1 hour sometimes just to get to the m69 then followed by 6hrs drive home to st ives, would never leave early.

st ives my cousin lives there.....you are to be commended for your loyalty my friend

I have left early occasionally, Bolton's 5-0 win at Filbo for example or maybe if I'm freezing my tits off but by and large I stay till the end main reason being I don't want to be an annoying twat making everyone else stand up to let me out.

I'd also echo what others have said - if you're going to go, then go - don't hang around blocking other peoples view.

One guy who used to sit near us a few years ago used to leave with his entourage on 85 mins every game - then we used to see them in the Firkin ten minutes later!

All those "loyal supporters" who started filing out in the 87th minute made me furious, have the cheek to call yourself loyal, but not loyal enough to sacrifice 10 minutes of there evening.

I live in swindon and I still wait for the full time whistle...

Have you thought about disabled people who cant walk far and and leave early so the dont get pushed all over the place i've been to every match home and away and i leave on 88 mins for this reason so am i not a "Loyal Supporter"?

I've never understood the argument to avoid the traffic. If you park in the right places it takes maybe 5-10 minutes extra... hardly a lifetime. Also those people who say that they have to travel a long way so they need to get out early - it makes no difference how far you've got to travel, you'll still take the same time to get out as some one who lives somewhere in the City. The only real argument for leaving early and STILL being a commited fan is if you have a disability or health problems.

Myself I prefer to park a 20 min walk away and a 10 min drive, than a five minute walk away and spend an hour stuck in traffic. I don't want to say what I think about people who park five mins away, are in decent health and then leave early to avoid traffic. Modesty forbids.

The only time I ever considered leaving early was an evening league cup game against Brentford. We were 2-0 down, it was about 9pm and I had to get the last train back to London which left about 9.40.

I decided to risk it and hung around, and we won 4-2. One of the most exciting finishes to a game I've ever seen. Haven't considered leaving early since.

I left Molineux early once when we were 3-1 down or something. If I hadn't, I wouldn't have got to see, and narrowly avoid, the various groups of pissed up nutters on the prowl outside the ground who either make themselves scarce when everyone else comes out or just get absorbed by the crowd. It was quite an eye opener

Usually as we are at the back of l block we walk down towards the stairs for the last few mins, and stand where other fans who have already left sit. The quickest weve got home after a 3pm ko is 530pm.

Stayed up the top til the final whistle on friday.it mustve taken 20mins to get out the ground because of that. Cant remember what time we got home but I think it was about 2230. So it does make a difference
