stivesfox Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 Just been on twitter full of sky blue scum saying they are going bust is this true I am overseas at mo so not seen the news! Anyone know what's going on is it champagne tonight to celebrate the demise of Cov City!!!
lcfc81 Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 I wouldn't wish any club going bust. I remember how devastated I was when I thought it was happening to Leicester. I have far more respect for a local person upporting Coventry or Forest than Man Utd or Chelsea. So I hope its not true.
stivesfox Posted 24 March 2011 Author Posted 24 March 2011 I don't like seeing clubs go bust though remember in our miss fortune the nasty comments made by them and the fact they wished us out of business, according to a mate of mine who follows them he reckoned they don't own the ground or the training ground and have no assets apart from the playing squad!
leicester4life Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 no assets, no fans. rapey marlon's gonna have to get in the dole que.
FuriousFox46 Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 No money, shit fans. Don't won't them in to administration but I think they deserve League One football due to their pathetic support.
rico Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 no assets, no fans. rapey marlon's gonna have to get in the dole que. Cardiff are in for him
Corky Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 Don't want other clubs to go into administration, it's a horrible time for the fans.
rico Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 Loan window is closed. just going by the article on Sky Sports news today how come loads of clubs have made signings today then ???
ScouseFox Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 I wouldn't like to see them out of business, a nice 10 point deduction and see them rotting in League 1 will do enough. That said, don't remember too many sympathies from that lot when we were incredibly close to going under.

Agreed, and all those shit youtube clips when we went down.I will laugh my c**k off.Fook me,how many fans will go next year if they go down! They will have to give more season tickets away than Derby. But i wouldnt want them to go out of business.
jonthefox Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 Apparently thier investors (sisu, a hedge fund) want out. They need 22k attendances to break even and as we all know thats never going to happen.
Narborough_fox Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 Let's put a cheeky £250,000 bid in for Westwood.
Matt Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 Don't want other clubs to go into administration, it's a horrible time for the fans. What fans?
Joeb.lcfc Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 im in so much pain right now what goes around comes around
Guest Bilo Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 Literally the only player I'd take off their hands is Westwood so a bit of vulture action would be brief. Sad to see any club going into administration, even if their fans did want us to go to out of business in 2002. We're a bigger, better and more decent bunch of fans than that mob so I hope they somehow survive. I do think that the subsequent 10 point relegation would relegate them without a doubt though and when they do go down, they will struggle to club together the resources to come back. They're more likely to do a Bradford than a Leicester or Norwich in my opinion.
FoxyPV Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 I'd feel sorry for them but if your average crowd is 8 people then you're always going to be in trouble.
Guest Bilo Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 According to this site, Coventry have the second lowest attendances as a percentage of their capacity in the league. Less than half full most games this season with an average attendance of 15,953. You have to wonder what the hell will happen to that next season if they are relegated with essentially no local derbies and very few teams with sizeable away support in the division. They could genuinely record four figure attendances for some games. Dagenham at home on a cold Tuesday night in January if they're having a bad season? They'd be lucky to get 10k. League One could kill them as a club which is one of the reasons why I'm personally uncomfortable with the 10 point deduction rule, it often only exacerbates a bad situation for clubs. They did vote for that ruling though, so they're rather reaping what they sow.

Fox92 Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 Hope its not true. Don't want to see any club go bust.
The Doctor Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 Let's put a cheeky £250,000 bid in for Westwood. why when he's out of contract this summer so we could have him for free?
ajthefox Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 Hope its not true. Don't want to see any club go bust. Agreed. Most of their fans, however few that may be, don't deserve to lose their club. why when he's out of contract this summer so we could have him for free? First dibs maybe? I know it's spending money unnecessarily but if he's still not signed on with Cov by summer then when his contract runs out there'll definitely be a fair bit of interest, and since they probably need the money now a cheeky undervalue bid might do the trick.

If the deals to bring kisnorbo here and to take gudjonsen to AZ (+ FM) have taught me anything it's that if there is less than 6 months left on a players contract you can approach them on a pre-contract and, provided the player is under 24, pay no transfer fee.
