RumbleFox Posted 14 April 2011 Posted 14 April 2011 Hello all Right, first things first, I am a sad little loser who thinks he knows about football based soley on a coupe of League/FA Cup/Champions League trebles on Championship Manager 01/02. However, I love conjecture and debate and discussion and hey, what else is this forum for? Sorry, rambling already. My point basically is this... I love King. You love King. We all love King. King is great. King, however, is not great at this minute. He needs a rest methinks. The issue, I believe, is that we don't really have anyone who can replace him like for like and we certainly don't want to start messing with formations at this point in the season. Whilst sat on my own, in my pants, eating a Pot Noodle and watching some god forsaken drivel on TV I came up with this - Why not take out king and replace him with Gallagher? We can then have Kamara, Yak and Vassell up front with Abe(Oakley), Wellens and Gallagher taking up the midfield? This may be the worst idea in history it just seemed like a good option to me in my self contained bubble of depression. King is great and has a big future in the game but I think resting him is a good idea at present and I can imagine Gallagher sitting in the middle pulling the strings and knocking out some Beckhamesque cross-field passes? Anyway, just a thought (as if Sven would ever even read this forum never mind take note of it). Oh well, back to trying to take Burton Albion to the Champions League on Champo. Thanks all. Rumble. X
Callabinho Posted 14 April 2011 Posted 14 April 2011 Weird post haha, However i do think Sven will cash in on King in the summer! and bring in a big strong central midfielder, Kingy is a brilliant player but i'd cash in now for him could fetch around £5 - £8 mil for him i think.
Ashley Posted 14 April 2011 Posted 14 April 2011 Gallagher isn't actually a bad shout in the middle to be fair. Recently King has looked drained, he also goes missing to easily in games. Weale Naughton Bamba Vitor/Mee van AanholtAbe WellensGallagherVassell Yakubu Kamara
Simo86 Posted 14 April 2011 Posted 14 April 2011 He played Gallagher in there against Boro I was just about to say the same thing! He also played him there in that friendly during the international break.
Father Ted Posted 14 April 2011 Posted 14 April 2011 Gallagher also dominated there against Watford away last season.
RumbleFox Posted 14 April 2011 Author Posted 14 April 2011 Aye, I know it's been done before but only sporadically. I think it would work for a few games and also, when it was tried previously, we did not have the current striking options we have now. I don't know, 90% of what I say is rubbish just thought it might be worth another try? X
deep blue Posted 14 April 2011 Posted 14 April 2011 Risky, as the midfield would be even easier to bully than it is at the moment, and the defence left more vulnerable (less cover from midfield). But we are in a "win at all costs" situation in every remaining game now, so maybe this will enable an "attack, attack, attack" style where we simply have to concentrate on scoring as many goals as possible and let the defence look after itself. Maybe the sort of risk we have to take now.

Jokes.

themotivator Posted 14 April 2011 Posted 14 April 2011 , nicely put rumble fox. i think this could be a viable option, but one sven is aware of (as mentioned before, he has tried it a couple of times). i wouldn't object to dropping kingy for a bit though. sven is clearly a fan of gally. who knows. i wouldn't mind seeing the return of yuki while we are at it. wellens didn't seem his energetic self on tuesday and was pretty frustrating to watch.

X I have in fact been promoting this concept for some months. Gallagher is not a wide man, he never looks to go outside a wide defender. He always wants to receive the ball standing still. His best performances have been when he plays in a role similar to that of King. I have also been saying that King, Wellens and Gallagher together are only effective against teams who want to play football, where there is space and time. They are all next to useless when teams want to battle against us. ( Crystal Palace is just one example of many. ) They are all only at their best when we are already one or two goals up. ( Burnley was not the only example of this ). We should never start with all three against any team. As I posted on a different thread a day or two ago, my team against Reading would be this:- Ricardo Vitor Bamba Mee PVA/Berner Naughton Abe Oakley Gallagher Vassell Yukubu
Criggers Posted 14 April 2011 Posted 14 April 2011 How about edit: Forgot the keeper! -------------------------Ricardo Vitor/Naughton - Bamba - Mee/Vitor - PVA ----------------------------Bruma--------------------------- ------------Gallgher------------------Wellens----------- Kamara-----------------Yak------------------------Vas I really havent forgiven Bruma for Boro game but since our midfield is so "weak" and King is clearly ****ing nackered right now, then what have we got to lose. Plus, didnt Bruma play well there against QPR?

cairnsy Posted 14 April 2011 Posted 14 April 2011 He played against Cardiff and people said he wasn't brill at it.
Fox92 Posted 14 April 2011 Posted 14 April 2011 King looks tired all the time for a young footballer. If a side were willing to pay over £5million, I'd consider it because I don't rate him as highly as every other Leicester fan. He doens't tackle and he does goes missing and we can't have by passes in the team if we want promotion. Gallagher has the technical ability to play central midfield and because he lacks pace I'm not keen on him playing out wide. If we ever needed a centre forward/attacking midfielder he'd probably be the man. We need an expierienced ball winning midfielder. Although I don't like him, Nick Montgomery might be a good shout if Sheffield United get relegated. Although Berner has no pace whats so ever, I like the though of Berner left back and Van Aanholt left midfield, and I'd probably like to see that in a game which has no meaning - such as a friendly or something. Don't care Naughton -- Vitor -- Mee -- Van Aanholt/Berner Gallagher -- Wellens -- Abe Vassell/Kamara -- Yakubu -- Kamara/Van Aanholt

After watching him against Wales definately cash in, the man wouldn't last a game in the Premiership, plus he's a traitor, here are my top five players i'd want to replace him http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCPD_B4sg78&feature=player_detailpage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idvGWlvRHyE&feature=player_detailpage

Ambitious Posted 14 April 2011 Posted 14 April 2011 - how is king a traitor? and like we'd have a chance of signing ganso. cos he chose to play for Wales, when he was born and bred in England, I'd be glad to see the back of him
Narborough_fox Posted 14 April 2011 Posted 14 April 2011 cos he chose to play for Wales, when he was born and bred in England, I'd be glad to see the back of him Do you really think he would ever get near the England squad? If you get chose for your country you go for it. It's too big an opportunity to say no to even if it isn't your country of birth. For instance I was born in Leicester but I feel myself as a Scotsman because the rest of my family is Scottish maybe King feels the same about Wales. You can't really call him a traitor playing for the Country of his parents I would if I ever got a sniff at playing for Scotland it would be my dream and it still is. King's following his and you can't say you want to get rid of him just for following his dream.
The Doctor Posted 14 April 2011 Posted 14 April 2011 so because one of our best players chose to represent wales - given he didn't have a chance of representing england: you need to be a right billy-big bollocks and play for one of the "big four" or the nearly rans e.g spurs, man city etc. to do that - you want to see rid of him? edit: Well said NF

Thats rubbish, if I was a Pro I would only want to play for England, like King I would be eligible to play for Wales as well, but would never do so, I'm English I play for England, Kings English he plays for Wales, that's a traitor in my opinion. I don't think he could cut it in the Premiership, which was clearly proven a few weeks ago, and we need players that can compete in the premiership so that when we get there we can establish ourselves as a Premiership side, like we did in the mid to late 90's and early 00's, its a waste of time and simply not good enough getting promoted and getting relegated again after one season.

He also suggest he could cut it in the prem with two good displays v man city. Anyway this arguement is a crock of shit - king has multinationality and chose to represent one of those nations - hardly treacherous behaviour.
Bugg Posted 14 April 2011 Posted 14 April 2011 Thiago Motta is an example of a player who has no right to play for the country he plays for (Italy) because he is Brazilian (I'm not going into how he's eligible to play) He would be considered more of a traitor than King - person with multi-nationality (as LargeAl has said)
